As someone with over 500 hours in NMS, watching someone completely new to it is making me giddy with laughter!
STAR SYSTEM. you went to a new STAR STSTEM. You're still in the same GALAXY.
How do I tell the difference in NMS? Is it the color of star ball?
@@daunt9577 a galaxy is billions upon billions of stars. Most people are still in Euclid (the name of the first galaxy). Going to a new galaxy happens in the endgame, it is a big deal and trust me, you'll know.
When in the galaxy map, you'll see an extremely bright area waaaaay off in the distance, that's the center of the galaxy. You'll see in the top corner where you are at in the galaxy.
i went to the second galaxy after I finished the game and then came back to Euclid... Euclid has a special place in my heart...
@@daunt9577 What you mean in NMS? Its work the same in real world. We live in star system that is INSIDE of galaxy that have absurd amount of star systems. Its not NMS specific, and its elementary school level of knowlegde.
Also having terms correct is rather important when both are used in the same game. For example calling moons "planets" in astroneer is not a problem. But you can travel to another galaxy in NMS.
it was slightly infuriating hearing him say Galaxy a bunch when he was talking about star systems
41:06 the face of a man realizing he needs uranium but is on a small deserted island haha
I didn't know I needed budget Ryan Reynolds playing No Man's Sky in my life until now. Loving your reactions to this amazing game. Please keep them coming.
Hey Jonsandman I literally just started watching your content because of No man's sky and I cant lie I absolutely love watching these videos. Keep it up!
Glad to have you!
Yeah! He’s great! You should check out his rocket league video with Leth’s road to ssl in 2v2s! 😅😂😅😂
"I wanna be friends", proceeds to shoot the first two ships he sees...
thats how i make friends to
@ianjwilliams all my friends want me dead.Well the pirates they really do love me :)
Funny comment, but in his defwnse..Im always cursing at these guys getting in my way when mining asteroids..
They are literally coded to keepbtrying to stay In front of you...test it... turn away, he will go for asteroid right I front of you again..
Always frusterating when players refuse to read the very hand holding instructions printed in the lower right corner of the screen.
I swear to fucking god the most basic requirement to be a streamer is to have the mostcrippling ADHD imaginable. Not even hating on him but that's the one common denominator on basically all streamers I've watched so far.
Watching someone new playing this game brings back a bit of the magic you feel when you are playing it for your first time. It is not quite the same but it doesn´t get any closer
I'm enjoying watching this, Jon. Looking forward to the next one!
Here's a useful tip,
When you warp to a new system for the first time, immediately land in the Space Station and go directly to the Exosuit vendor. One of the terminals will give you 1 free storage upgrade you can use for inventory or technology. You can repeat this with every new system you visit. You can also claim another free one in the Space Anomaly (once you unlock it) if you summon it in every system you visit.
Landing in the Space Station also adds its location to your teleporter, so you can go back to it anytime, from any star system and save yourself from using hyperdrive fuel.
Everything stated here is true with one exception, inventory expansion are not free in either the station or Anomaly!
The first one costs 5,000 U and it goes up for each upgrade after. It caps at 1,000,000 U.
@@j.r.glowacki1876 However, eventually the money becomes trivial after you figure out how to make money. Also, there are other ways to get exosuit upgrades by exploring that only cost a few resources.
@@j.r.glowacki1876 Oh you're right!. It's been so long since money had been an issue in NMS, it did feel like it was free. My mistake 😅
One thing im curious about, why did the second station i go to not appear in my teleporters when i used it to teleport back, only once i built a teleporter in that system?
I also just started watching. Seeing your take as someone completely new to the game is refreshing.
You gotta play more of this, this is awesome
Bro i feel like the chat knows nothing abt this game bru 😭 i was answering all of your questions in my head that i could have said if i was there in the chat, but i wasnt.
The weird big green spider thing isn’t supposed to be friendly and its called a broodmother im pretty sure. You can’t tame broodmothers
Love the vid again like the first one! Cobalt is not that good for money! It used to be but they nerfed the selling price of it! I have done the same thing when mining asteroids! The NPC pilots fly right in front of you while you are mining! The green bug can be tamed, it is one of the new creatures added in the World's Part 1 update! Units are the money, the total is in the upper left of the screen! The red shield in the bottom right of the screen means your inventory is full!
You get your scanner built up you can make a 100k+ per animal
I’m actually looking for a way to do that but not sure how
Mine just gives me about 12k per scan
@maxwell.a5893 you can buy upgrades in the space stations with nanites at the multi-tool vendor
@@thephoenixfromtheashesits better with the upgrades that say X (outlaw tech) as they can give up to about 11,000% more nanites per animal. U can get them by killing outlaw starships or going to outlaw systems and buying them from the space stations.
@maxwell.a5893 upgrades and keep rearranging them.I normally keep all like tech together but sometimes I will take the best upgrades and put them in supercharged slots even if that means there not touching each other.i only do this with the scanner, hyperdrive.get some killer high stats
No Man's Sky and Subnautica are two games I wish I could forget I've ever played so I could experience them for the first time again.
I'm sure someone else will mention it, but just so you know, when you open up loot pods and stuff like that.. the "viscous fluids" and "living slime" stuff isn't the loot, its gunk you gotta clear away to open the loot... instead of adding it to your exosuit click "DESTROY BLOCKAGE" to destroy them then the loot will show (may have to reopen loot after).. that stuff makes practically nothing so best to just destroy it 😄
I'm pretty sure you can turn those into nanites if processed.
Yep you get a lot of nanites from that, also chromatic metal
@@mynorlop0ez351 there are much easier more rewarding ways to get nanites even as a noob.
@@ImJamieX It's good on a normal save as you can load up a full 9999 stack and you can buy plenty from shops / amass as you play. On Survival though, it's not even worth a thought as you're limited to 250 per refining session making you have to constantly baby sit it.
Rusted Metal doubles out to Ferrite Dust, which, for me, beats mining pebbles...especially if I need a bunch of the stuff on the quick, and Sentinels are all over.
And the rest make Nanites. Having a Personal Refiner on your exosuit makes that a background task you can do on the go.
bro is your chat hiding the fact that you can kill the dangerous plants with the mining laser from you on purpose? you even get free oxygen.
the big green insect was introduced with the last update
It's so great seeing a new player discover this game! Especially everything on Undromas Beta. Seeing a big ocean for the first time is always a big moment. And falling into the cave by accident and that turning into a mini underwater adventure, realizing you have to dig your way out, and being surprised by what you find on the other side. That's peak NMS right there. Also discovering that big radioactive looking bug was wild. I've never seen anything like that in years of playing. I considered visiting to tame one for myself. This game never ceases to amaze.
This game is way easier on controller in my opinion.
For sure
Great video Jon ! When you go on the galactic map it shows you all the solar systems in the galaxy. When you reach the galactic core, you can travel to a new galaxy !
Subscribed for your No Man’s Sky playthroughs. Your videos are very entertaining man
As NMS veteran and long time rocket league enjoyer as well, great to see your first playthrough with NMS, playlist is going along as I play my save ❤
I just started playing like a week ago. I play on permadeath, which isn't really hard after you know what you're doing. It took me 2 lives to get the hang of it. But I have noticed, no playthrough is exactly the same. On life 2, I got a jumpjet mod for my jetpack. On life 3 I got to the point where I would have gotten it last life, but nothing. I did, however, save a freighter from a pirate attack, and the captain invited me on board. He was so greatful and impressed that I solo'd 8 pirates that he handed over captaincy to me. He's now the admiral of my fleet...my one-ship fleet...
1st things to spend nanites on is scanner S class upgrades or movement ones the scanner ones will let you make hundreds of thousands for scanning animals or plants
Any idea where to find those?
@@maxwell.a5893 You can buy them from the merchants in space stations when you go in they will be on left side 2nd floor right beside where u can upgrade your suit inventory. The exosuit merchant sells the movement modules and the guy opposite will sell the multi-tool scanner mods and i would just save up for S class ones and not bother with the others
@@maxwell.a5893 You need to check the vendors in all space stations that you encounter. Their items are random so it may take a bit of exploring to find one with the upgrades you want. IMO it's really not worth spending nanites on anything below S class so best to save up. In addition, there are also X class upgrades that are contraband that have random stats, some of which are better than S class. You will need these for further gear improvements later since you are limited to three S class upgrades per module type.
@@maxwell.a5893 space stations
@@maxwell.a5893 Also PIRATE space stations.
HOW did you get lucky enough to get a Paradise Planet in your starter system?!?!
Love how excited you got over a Nuclear Planet
Watching you see something new in game now is hilarious. Like a kid in a candy Store.
Anybody else think this guy sounds like Ryan Reynolds? Kinda looks like him too, not gonna lie. Now, I can't unsee it.
Budget Ryan! (:
@@JonsandmanPlays exactly :D
I am really enjoying watching you play nms. The sheer joy you seem to have playing and discovering new things . 😊
I have been playing for 6 years and have well over 2k hours played. I’m still discovering new things.
Yes you can eventually network all your bases , freighter and space stations and transport between them all .
If you’re low on sodium you can farm cave marrow (yellow plants in caves) and refine it into sodium.
Looking forward to your next nms adventure in comedic style 🤗
Buried technology can be found on each planet with the analysis visor and those give u way more money. But those are also used for learning blueprints
Hey I've seen your previous video and this video as well. If you haven't noticed, in this video at 2:27, after you "looted" the goop, you can actually hold E again and loot the actual stuff inside the storage. You accidentally missed to loot the cargo drop as well on the previous video
You might have scanned all creatures on a planet. That can be uploaded for a lot of nanites. Use them to buy upgrade modules. Like jet pack, scanner, etc
(paused at 45:26 to see your scanner)
you've found a great planet there a gentle lush planet wit blissful weather. no storms, no radiation. no toxicity. not too hot or cold. the perfect place to live free of hazards. that's where id would a farm and tame animals to ride
45:35 no radiation
I created a new save for the update and on the money for the hyperdrive I just farmed silver and gold from asteroids for a few minutes lol.
I hope you play more. took 8hr building you a base. It's the ultimate man cave. Comes with a great mountain top view, and even a race track!
Green starship trails=Civilians, Red starship trails=Pirate/enemys. Player starship trails?= Any variation under the rainbow.
Can we make a space 1v1? It would be really fun, it is fun to do with friends space battles too! If you win i give you over 10 mil units in game (per item)
Seriously enjoying your play through I do hope you continue. Where in Texas are you?
Shall I spoil the main story of the game? I'm gonna do it, since not many have the patience to complete the main story, and the way they tell it is straight out of Star Trek.
Okay, spoiler:
You're a unique computer simulation that's grown a soul. This captures the attention of the operating system that simulates the universe you live in. The operating system is called Atlas and it's basically god. God is sad because the hardware the simulation is running on is failing. You only have 16 left. 16 what is the question. Could be years, could be minutes. It's on an alien time scale. But you're powerless to save yourself or the Atlas. This is like if Notepad developed sentience, befriended the Windows operating system and they were together trying to fix your broken motherboard. Not gonna happen. So the Atlas keeps resetting the simulation as it keeps crashing and nobody is the wiser. You keep being reborn as a new iteration forgetting you done all this before countless times... You're already iteration #2394829084924924924G. Meaning you've been reset a few times already!
its recommended to wait till you have a pretty good weapon and mining lazer before you do sentinal ship farming cause they are usually on planets with these purple corrupted sentinals which are fairly strong not too strong but you need some firepower and once you kill all of the waves you get a signal to a sentinal ship and you can basically do it over and over to get sentinal ships of different ranks cause the rank of your ship also matters your mining tool also has a rank too as well as upgrades and stuff there's ALOT of customization in this game
Tap A or D 3 times to roll in that direction. While warping to another system.
Jon! Press the mouse wheel for a second on an unnecessary resource (Viscous, Living Slime etc.) to delete it.
No way, refine them for nanites lmao
Lol what? So throw nanites away?
Seeing him leave all the loot in the crashed freighter when he needed it to sell for units 😭
Digging up a bunch of salvaged data and selling it would have given you millions.
Dude I've been playing since day one.this game will blow your mind.i can make a billion just by turning on my ps5.no duplicating needed.once you learn the game you can make millions practically in minutes
Teach me oh wise one
Love space games ❤ Subscribed 😊
that big green bug looking thing is a new enemy type that got added in the latest update
im pretty sure thats just a random animal that happens to look almost exactly like it
Your twitch chat is severely missleading at times. When you asked if you had enough to sell to get the money you needed, "not even close" was a lie, you had enough already xD
Also those claiming you can visit "billions of galaxies" are also wrong, there's a set number of galaxies. Billions of star systems, though. Each with a number of planets/moons.
Right, I think it's 256 galaxies and something like 18 quintillion planets.
how has no one in the chat corrected him with 'galaxy'..........STAR SYSTEM!!
On early game to make some quick cash you can just sell food items. Like those berries or what the hell you have there. NMS isnt a survival. And food is mostly useless. Or usefull but in very specific situations.
Later you put into your weapon/tool upgrades for scaner. And with few of them each animal scan gives you between 100-300 k creds.
You jump to another star system not galaxy. To jump to another galaxy you have to go to the center of this galaxy. When you are on galaxy map you can choose option "galaxy core" which point you at this direction with shortest route. But... its at least 500-1000 jumps. So looking at fact that i take you around 30s to make one... then if your hiperdrive had infinite amout of energy it would take around 6 ours of constant loading screens.
There is only 256 galaxies in the game, but, the galaxies are actual size.
Use uranium for the launch thrusters, its a lot easier to mine and it uses almost nothing, every pro uses it
you can find it in irradiated planets, scan the planets from orbit with C
Hey man this was a good watch I'll subscribe for the NMS vids
Not billions of other Galaxy's you're thinking too small 18 quintillions yes Quintillion
I'm starting to think Jon Likes attacking friendly npcs 😂😂😂
Should have messed with the armored clams ....who knows you might find a pearl ....
dont worry man, even veterans like us have accidentally shot at an innocent starship while mining asteroids at least once
it's basically an integral part of the traveller initiation ritual at this point 😭
I thought I’d never see Ryan renolds playing no man’s sky 😳
You didn't get anything from the cargo pod
People who can't tell the difference between a star system and a galaxy are the same ones who don't know the difference between there, their, and they're 😂
is he live streaming this on twitch?
Oh and a fantastic way of making money at the beginning is to go around collecting salvaged data that lies just below a planets surface, they go for 50k a pop if I remember right and it made me millions in the beginning
At 52:50 anyone can tell me why we get those systems discovered by other players in the list? Is it cause galaxy map how it works?
They rename it and post it onto the galaxy map. Only if your online though.
@@Lidldrwatson oh ok so is there any way to avoid this issue? It's so annoying cause I would like to have only systems discovered by me.....also I need Internet ON to load my discoveries and get nanites too, instead I keep multiplayer OFF (sadly this isnt enough then)
It made me SO mad when he had the hadal core for the ENTIRE money grind!
26:28 NNOOOOOOOOOO
love you jon!
Hi
you should definitely fight some people its fun \
If you want, call in the multi-player space station (the space anomaly), and if people see you in the starter ship they will drop millions in your inventory.
He can't get to nexus yet. That comes near end of tutorial. He still has a bit of work.
@@hunter4hireall he has to do is warp like twice
@@CALAMITY0FHYRULE yes, I said that in another reply. First Frigate is Free. Just kill pirates and rescue frigate
me when i remove the fun out of the game by just focusing on the numbers getting bigger. like actually go play cookie clicker
The glowing plants are oxygen in the water
Please play drug dealer simulator 2
