I have a tip for the Sunbeam mixer. I had one for years and loved it. When mixing a cake you might want to use the setting that places the beaters to the side of the bowl not center of bowl. It allows the bowl to spin and cream the butter and sugar properly.
Also the beater with the rubber/plastic piece(white) on the bottom goes on the left closest to the side of bowl. Im not sure but I think this helps with balance and spinning of the bowl. I’m sorry for all of the tips but this brought back a lot of good memories with my Sunbeam mixer.
Dumpcake or muffins Pumpkin pie filling and a box of spice cake mix or yellow or white and mix. Bake at 350 for 35 to 37 minutes check with toothpick. 😋
Yes! Sunbeam is great. My grandmother always used one and she was a great baker. She did make me learn how to use the mixer before she would give me the pound cake recipe. I think you experienced a little user error 😊
@@EmilyG0302 I have my grandmother's 50+ year old Stainless steel one and it works perfectly! I also have her 50+ year old kettle and I have my late husband grandmother's majic stainless steel 50+ year old toaster! It is so cool. You put the bread in, it goes down by itself and when it finishes it comes up by itself ... Perfectly toasted! I love these great appliances!
Happy Fall, Y’all 🍁. I moved from Jacksonville FL to Boston when I married my elementary school sweetie 3 years ago. It’s SO AWESOME to hear your Southern accents. Music to my ears! I went to college in Spartanburg and he went to Clemson. Making Spaghetti Pie tomorrow night and will make the apple dump crumble dessert on Sunday. Carry on, you two. Great job!
We make that dump cake all the time with different fruits. Apple, peach or cherry are our favs. We love to make it camping in our Dutch oven over charcoal. Add some cinnamon to the top! My daughter actually asked this morning if I would make one today for the first day of Fall!
When all else fails, read the directions. The beaters need to be put in the correct holes on the mixer, there is a picture on the beater slots on outside that tells you where they go. If you follow those guides you will be fine,
Oh my gosh. The apple 🍎 dump cake was delicious. I used one can of no sugar added apple pie filling and added 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg and cinnamon and it was FABULOUS. My family’s new favorite
I ran up to the grocery store and bought the ingredients for the apple dump cake and it's in the oven right now!!! I can't wait until after supper to give it a go!!! I'm sure it will be so so good!!! And yesterday I made your Crock Pot creamy chicken rigatoni and oh my goodness it was soooooo delicious!!! I just love your channel and all of your wonderful recipes!! Thank you!! Edited: This is the next day and I just came back on to tell you guys this is my new favorite apple dessert ever!!! It was so amazingly delicious!! I did use two cans of apples because we love the apple part and it was perfect for us!!! Can't wait to have some more!!!
You two are just adorable! Tip for you if you run out of powdered sugar, you can throw regular sugar into a blender and poof you have powdered sugar. Hope to see more desserts in the future. Will definitely try these.
Agree in the cake icing I always scrape it off…great video so recipe on Catherine’s plate video one can pumpkin one box spice cake mix and 1/2 cup chocolate chips pour in bread pan sprinkle top with more chocolate chips and bake at 350.. great cake no icing.
Oh Jessica, I made that apple dessert today and oh my was it ever delicious! My husband loved it and said to thank you. I only put one can of apples in it also and loved it that way. I love all your vlogs along with Mandy in the Making.
The tray the bowl sits on should have an adjustment so the beaters are aligned on the side the bowl instead of in the center. My Mom and I had a Sunbeam for many years. You brought back wonderful memories of her baking. Thank you.
Definitely going to try the Apple Caramel Dump Cake! You guys are so much fun to watch! My husband and I have watched and enjoyed you two and sweet Daisy Mae for months! Hugs to that sweet pooch with the awesome "I want chicken" howl!
I am with you when it comes to icing - I even scraped it off my wedding cake, before eating it... I have two that I like, my homemade fudge frosting and the Caramel Pecan that goes on German Choc. Cake. I've made this dump dessert with spice cake and peach sauce, lemon cake and blueberry pie filling - love how easy it is. Check the placement of your beaters, that can cause the mixer to not spin correctly. I think your cupcakes were a bit too warm yet for your icing, but they should looked delicious and that dip, oh my! My grown children will love it!
You really know how to welcome Fall! 🤩 So you made the first recipe and I thought, I have those ingredients and I could make that. 😚 But before I could get started you made the second recipe. 😘 By this time I hadn't even gotten out of my chair. Then you made the pumpkin fluff. As I watched you dip an apple slice in the fluff, I began to picture it on top of an oatmeal cookie. Or slice a pound cake. Then I started making a list of things that this fluff would be good on. My finger! 😁 Yep, that's a good start. 😋 You make baking fun Jessica! I know it's not your forte but girl, you're getting the hang of it! 😘 I remember when I first started watching you in the kitchen. Baking was something you kind of avoided. But look at you now! Just keep practicing and before you know it, you will be so comfortable baking! 🤗 I really love to bake! 😍 And it warms my heart to see you baking! ❣️ I had a lot of physical therapy in the beginning of this year and I used to take baked goods to them all the time. When I saw your jug of apple cider I was reminded of a cake I once took them. It was an Apple Cider Cake. But when I told them what I brought they just looked at me funny, like it was going to be tart. But to their surprise, it wasn't tart at all. It was sweet but not overly sweet. It was so moist and tender and was devoured so fast! ☺️ So you can't judge a cake by it's title! 😉 The secret to baking is love! 💕 I've been baking since I was a teenager. My brother and I used to go through our mom's cookbooks and pick out dessert recipes. We made so many cakes, cookies and bars! And we got real comfortable baking. And as an adult, I love experimenting with new recipes and flavors. At my last job of 15 years, I baked so much for my coworkers. I baked so much that they nicknamed me Betty Crocker. ☺️ Then one day KitchenAid mixers went on sale. That's truly an investment for your kitchen! Some people at work knew I was wanting to get one so several of them got together and took up a collection to help me pay for my KitchenAid mixer! 🤗 I think that was the highest compliment anyone could pay me. 😍 So just remember, the more you bake, the more you'll love it! 😘 And the better you'll get! I'm still waiting for you to make the cinnamon rolls using the frozen loaf of bread. It's the Pioneer Woman's recipe! 😚 Thanks for sharing another great video and making my day! 🥰 Love you girl! ❤️ My little Baker!
I'm with you Jess! I don't like icing on my cake or cupcakes either. I'm a "just cake" person! The very first mixer I ever owned was a Sunbeam that looks just like yours. I passed it down to my daughter when my husband bought me a KitchenAid.
That picture of you two at the end!!! 😍 Looks like maybe from a recent photo shoot? Either way, it's adorable! These desserts all look so good. I'm definitely gearing up for yummy fall desserts. 😋 Y'all were a joy to watch as usual. 🧡
Yummy 😋 Yummy 😋 Yummy 😋 they all looked good. Love you two enjoying each other plus the treats Love your laughter you 2 are a Blessing to watch 🧡🧡🧡🤣♥️♥️♥️
#1 basically just a dump cake.. you can use any fruit, and pour the cake mix on top and put pats of butter over it- you don't have to mix the cake mix and melted butter. It makes the crust more uniform and not crumbly. I make dump cakes all the time. Try a cherry with chocolate cake mix on it. yum!!
I love your excitement when cooking! I love my Kitchen Aid, you deserve the best kitchen tools!!! Peach dump cake is my husband's favorite, so easy and so dangerous! Lol😂
Jessica, I just wanted to let you know I love watching you and you Bunky. Y'all are hilarious!!! Y'all are one of my favorite RUclipsr channels. Keep making us laugh!!!! ♥️♥️🙏🙏
The way we always made it, it is more like cake. You pour the dry cake mix right on top of your apples and then dot butter all over the top. And its delicious! However i love crumb toppings, so i may try it your way.
Love your mixer! Put the beater with the white plastic thingy next to the bowl and the plain beater to the inside of the bowl. It will spin your bowl without having to do it manually and get your butter blended!
Happy Fall! It sure doesn't feel like Fall here in Texas. It was 99° today! 😓 All those desserts look delicious. I would add some marshmallow cream to that last recipe! Love from Texas
Happy Fall. Although it's still super hot in Texas. The frosting for the cupcakes was runny because you didn't put enough powder sugar. That's what helps thicken it as well. You might try a spice cake mix with a can of pumpkin. Mix and bake. No oil or eggs. It's a pampered chef recipe.

Never put the beaters in when mixer is plugged in! Had a friend who lost a couple fingers that way.
Dumpcake or muffins

OMG, that apple cake crumble with caramel looks AMAZING!! Yum!
I eat the frosting off the cupcakes and leave the cupcakes 🧁 lol. Everything looks good. I love making dump cakes. Love to all.
This would be good with 🍒 pie filling, devils food cake mix and chocolate syrup!!! Yyuuuummmm. The apple one looks so good too!
Ohhhh my goodness yessss!!
Oh I just love watching you both cook together y’all seem to be so happy & I love all your recipes!

I love the idea of mixing the butter into the cake mix instead of drizzling the butter over the dry mixture.
I love that y’all are REAL.
Oh my gosh. The apple 🍎 dump cake was delicious. I used one can of no sugar added apple pie filling and added 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg and cinnamon and it was FABULOUS. My family’s new favorite
You might want to check the mixer manual to see if you have the beaters in the right position. That could be the problem. Good luck!
Girl the frosting is the best part! Those all looked yummy!
Oh my goodness! This video was hilarious and so great! Loved the fall themed goodies and the mixer mishap 🤣 happy official fall!! 🍁🍂🐿

It makes a difference which beater goes to the outside of the bowl. Mine has a rounded beater and a squared one.
It's nice you can push the bowl off to the side to add other ingredients as needed.
