Brilliant point about ball toss disguise. Someone once told me, for all serves except the kick - toss the ball to the right, 1 ft inside the court. This advice has always worked for me. I was fortunate to learn how to toss the same ball position for both flat and slice very early on when I first started playing tennis.
Makes sense because your body will adjust itself to the toss at 1 o'clock if it has okay flexibility and you'll have your disguise on flat or slice. Quite frankly if you hit a great slice to the deuce (righty) you're gonna ace or make it hard on returner.
@@willkittwk Yes the slice out wide on the deuce court as a second serve has always worked wonders for me. They expect a kick down the middle to their backhand usually, but the slice out wide usually catches them out. I like to use this tactic a lot in recreational tournaments.
Just Slice it.. Another gem of a lesson from TTT. Can you make a detailed video on playing singles, positioning, tactics , transitioning to the net etc.
i remember last time in one of the video the coach mentioned using the continental grip while turning a bit to the backhand grip, and also throw a bit to the right, seems it wasnt mentioned here
I would not even say it it is weakness. I have always thought Nadal gets as much action on his slice serve as I have ever seen. Very effective, all know it is coming, but cannot really do much about it.
I notice that with Nadal. He's for sure happy to get his opponents hitting an awkward return on first serve so he can hit power slice. If he gets occasional ace or winner that much the better. He's such a great rallier that he's gonna gain leverage on everything the opponent doesn't blast in the corner off his serve.
Very comprehensive video👍 I just hope that my slice curve will be to the left not right. I noticed that my ball bounce higher than expected 🙂 Thanks your effort guys👏
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Hi Simon, I've been struggling with the slice serve for quite sometime. For now, m gonna try your step by step slice serve practice and see if I can follow instructions like this. My dilemma is that m doing the American twist instead of slice so the ball goes to the right instead of left. M a right handed anyways.

Guys, love your videos - found this one a little confusing, you are coming up at the ball and trying to hit the 2 O'clock, then pronating like a flat serve ?
You are absolutely right the first service their much more a kick service. Watch the ball toss behind his head. Also full pronation is only for kick and flat service in different directions. Of course every slice service has some topspin momentum because your racket is traveling from low to high 😊Most important tip to get real bite on your SS is finishing position. Your racket face is pointing to the sky. Kick and Flat Racket Tip is pointing to the ground, full pronation. Check his service demo 💁♂️
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Found it. Grass isn't that low on this courts, wich is very interesting, but love the background,it's isolated and very vintage.
Any particular reason for hitting really great slice serves and then almost completely losing the ability to hit a good one out of nowhere? Almost like my muscle memory for it just disappeared 😂
Same thing happens to me during matches, I think it has to do with tightness somewhere in the body. I try to get more relaxed by breathing or stretching, also I've found visualizing the serve motion of the racket hitting the ball properly, eg how I want it to look, prior to starting the motion helps too.
Hey guys. Great vid! Can you do a video on the inside out backhand? Federer uses this shot (link here of Federer performing the shot ruclips.net/video/Qz3d4fFcDb4/видео.html) but there doesn't seem to be any video on RUclips on how to actually execute it. Thanks!

Using drones might be good idea, to see where the ball breaking lines.
Thanks!

Can you also do a serve video where you show the WRIST/pronation etc. in SLOW motion?

This video only explains serving on the right half of the opponent. How to slice serve on the on the left half?
You just aim to the left. The movement is the same just a slight angle change in contact point
Thanks again for effective tips,
Could you please make another video doing slice serve on ad Court?
The motion is very similar on the ad side, it’s all about practicing the technique

@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Found it. Grass isn't that low on this courts, wich is very interesting, but love the background,it's isolated and very vintage.
Thanks but there is a contradiction between what you say and what you show (in slow motion). It's not a side curve but a face curve.
You understand still
Any particular reason for hitting really great slice serves and then almost completely losing the ability to hit a good one out of nowhere? Almost like my muscle memory for it just disappeared 😂
Omg same thing happens with me sometimes I just completely lose my serve or 1 of my serves like kick serve I just randomly can’t hit some days
Yea some days particular serves feel so unnatural like I’ve never done them and then like 20 minutes later they magically come back it’s so weird
Same thing happens to me during matches, I think it has to do with tightness somewhere in the body. I try to get more relaxed by breathing or stretching, also I've found visualizing the serve motion of the racket hitting the ball properly, eg how I want it to look, prior to starting the motion helps too.
Could somebody time stamp for me, the "cheating" part of hitting a slice serve?
“Cheat” as in shortcut or tip, but after doing what we teach it may feel like it’s cheating as becomes so easy! 👍😁
Finally my service is gonna pay off
