Thank you Angel for taking the time to fly our Comanche 250. Excellent presentation and covered a lot. BTW, what adds moisture to the cabin is people breathing (we are all humidifiers). In reality, it’s tough having 4 people in the cockpit because of this and usually keep a door open when on the ground and we model the air coming in and out of the cabin and its humidity. If you have just one or two people, opening the small windows is enough. Nice comments on its flying character, it does fly like a tapered wing Cherokee in many ways. I look forward to following your tour and thank you for the compliments.
You guys have failed to make a bad plane... this one is as much an instant buy as any you've released. I'm most impressed at the system depth and sim performance being so good. That one seems to be a sticking point for many developers. (Please excuse me landing like Jet Blue)
Thanks for taking the huge amount of time to create such a beautifully simulated Comanche. The new Accu-Sim 2.0 is amazing and adds a lot more than the sim can do natively. This is now my favorite GA aircraft in MSFS!! Even the manual is superb.
The level of detail is insane o.O Even the wear on the pistons is simulated. Love that virtual walkaround :) I hope it hits the MSFS marketplace soon, too.
It's really nice this has realistic oil temp and engine temp simulation. Made a big difference not having it properly warmed up. Their custom API simulates down to each cylinder compression cycle of the engine. An excerpt from the manual: "Warm-up the engine at 800 to 1200 RPM for not more than 2 minutes in warm weather, or 4 minutes in cold weather. If electrical power is needed from the generator, the engine can be warmed up at 1200 RPM at which point the generator cuts in. The magnetos should be checked at 2000 RPM, the drop not to exceed 125 RPM with manifold pressure of 15” Hg. The engine is warm enough for take-off when the throttle can be opened without the engine faltering Carburetor heat should be checked during the warm-up to make sure the heat control operation is satisfactory and to clear out the carburetor if any ice has formed. The heat source from the exhaust is very plentiful in the Comanche, so a drop of around 125 RPM due to this hotter, less dense air entering the engine can be expected. Carburetor heat should also be applied in flight occasionally when the outside air temperature is between 20°F (-5°C) and 70°F (21°C) to check if icing is occurring in the carburetor. In most cases when an engine loses manifold pressure without apparent cause, the use of carburetor heat will correct the condition. If carburetor icing is present and carb heat is applied, some initial engine roughness due to the ingestion of partially melted ice can be expected." It then goes on the caution about using carb heat in dusty conditions since, as with all GA piston planes I'm aware of, it bypasses the filter. That is probably not simulated since I don't think dust is a thing in MSFS. Maybe MSFS2024 since they're adding seasonal weather.
Glad to see a review by one of my favorite RUclipsrs! I just bought the Comanche, and I'm working on getting it set up with SPAD. Haven't flown it yet, but I'm certainly anxious to do so.
I believe the fuel selector on the dash (Main/Aux) is for switching from the main tanks to the tip tanks. Also, you can set the gear to 'Classic' style in the tablet. That way you don't have to hold the brakes as you engage/release the parking brake.
Another excellent review! One thing that I appreciate is that you use noon settings to better showcase the exterior and interior much better than early morning or late afternoon dramatic lighting.
the lil doggo holding on for dear life there at the landing , a wee rollercoaster experience lol, was fun to watch though and nice aircraft will be grabbing this myself.
Bought it 7am today (20th July). Originally got it for FSX, then P3D. I regret nothing. I seem to remember that just over 70 knots was optimal for approach speed? Bestest as always, Barty
You're the first reviewer/streamer who wasn't doing 160mph on final, throwing full flaps and gear, in hopes of slowing down, all the while cursing she's slippery.. You managed that very well even if you were a tad too fast at touchdown.
I mean... gear and flaps have max extention speeds... you throw em out full power you're going to break things. It's not that slippy if you manage your airspeed well. Touchdown was too quick, but that's more because I was talking... downside of youtube and talking AS i fly... doing it 'live' so to speak, i can distract myself :D
I had a couple A2A planes in FSX so was excited to see them finally making it to MSFS. Grabbed this and have messed around with it a couple times. Gotta sit down and really figure it all out. "It seats dogs" 🤣🤣🤣
I discovered A2A on FSX. However, due to the poverty prevailing in Africa, I can no longer afford to switch to FS2020, considering the high cost of its hardware, which would amount to three years of well-paid work in my country. Nonetheless, I wish you, A2A, all the happiness and success. Translate French to English :))
Very interesting review, after watching this I immediately downloaded and WOW! even more exciting, in VR it is stunning. Tomorrow I will be doing a few circuits in this baby !
I've noticed this isn't the first video where you mentioned the time keeps being reset or moved on you. I found it tends to only do this if I set a time on the world map "flight conditions" tab while selecting weather, but if I select weather only in this section, but then use the slider on the bottom of the world map to set the time, the time will stay where I set it. Try it out... Hope this works for you!
Think with the engine computer when you transfer it from the tablet you just have to press the white button. Its a cool little system for monitoring engine.
Great review! Yeah, Preppie Boy looks pretty toasted. I have been watching all of your reviews, wondering what you'd think of the A2A Comanche when it finally came out for MSFS. I'll buy MSFS when A2A releases their P-40 in MSFS and I can fly my favorite airplane, Army 155. Until then it's P3D.
I really like this plane but I don't want to make folks pee their pants..... Great plane and thanks so much for your entertaining review of this wonderful aircraft. I have been flying it since I woke up yesterday and saw it was released. I am a Piper guy and although my main goto is the BS Baron, I think this plane has more to offer as far as realism. The first thing that comes to mind is "feels right" when flying it.
Thanks again for showing a great new airplane. Question: Do you or anyone else have an issue with the rudder being somehow persistently trimmed for a right turn? I have re-loaded the plane and this doesn't seem to go away. This may explain why you were struggling a bit with the ground handling.
I wish A2A would do something different then the same plane/planes they’ve been doing since fsx. Till different planes come out this wont be in my hanger. Great video!
I was patiently awaiting on your review on the A2A Comanche. Remember those years ago of rob, myself, mako and the rest of our little group flying A2A stuff on FSEconomy.
Liked your review so I spent the $50. It's the most I have spent so far on an airplane for MSFS 2020. I do agree that it flies well and is a good-looking airplane. Other than that I was disappointed in the product. I do a lot of cross-country flying so a good GPS and autopilot are important to me. Also, I have both Honeycomb products, so, linking the switches and levers is important. The Commanche was very disappointing in these areas. The GPS system would not track and the altitude hold did not function, even when I hand-flew the airplane to intercept the displayed course before engaging the system (as suggested in the manual). I will do more reading to see if I can salvage my investment. I know the autopilot is a different system than I'm used to, but it is supposed to work with the Honeycomb, and I couldn't make that happen. My first impression is that this airplane is not for everyone, and it may not be for this old dog. Too bad, I always wanted to fly one of these birds back in the day. For now, it's back to the V-Tail Bonanza for me.
The A2A Comanche comes with a controller application. It's in the install directory. Did you try configuring it there? Also been a lot of updates with v1.1
@@krozareq I've installed both and having more success flying the Comanche. Still learning though. I finally figured out the autopilot as well. Feeling better about my purchase. All in all it's a great flying bird. The manual is quite extensive - "read the directions" right! I'm still having some issues but working them out as I go. Flew it yesterday from Eastsound to Astoria. Except for an issue with the directional compass, everything went well.
@@jspaatz The code (systems) for this aircraft does not run inside MSFS and is fed in externally through simconnect from an outside source which is a no go for XBOX.
So with the persistant stae feature, does that save the exact location in a saved flight like inside hangars where you typically cannot do that normally?
@@AvAngel weird, just got the aircraft. Pushed it into a hangar that I'm sure wasn't listed as a parking point and it saved position. Maybe I just flukes it and i just missed the hangar as a parking gate but that's never happened with other aircraft
Does anyone know how to get rid of those annoying white frames that show up sometimes around some digital instruments? Thought it was just on the WB C172 mod, but seen it in this video and another one.
Next level add-on quality. The modelling of the engine and electrical systems is quite staggering. I hope it does well to encourage more from A2A and to raise the standards for all payware.
A great review. But the plane is too expensive. No small aircrafts should exceed more than $300. This is a game, not investments. If not we reach a price tag of $1000 for Dash 8 or similar.
Impressive. Very impressive. But alas, i have to be a heretic, here. Small Piper boring, want something else. >:o How about a Twotter? Still hoping someone will make a good one of those, since the Aerosoft one turned out rather meh. :p (I mean, i might still buy this one, but the price is a big ask for a plane that's not really up my alley. We'll see.)
Okay, i did end up buying it. Had a good look earlier. Liking it so far. I think with the simulation being as visceral and "intimate" as it is, the aircraft might just grow on me, even if she's not my usual style. Also, i seem to recall that A2A was working on an Aerostar 600, at some point. That, with this level of simulation could quite easily become an instant favourite of mine, if and when that eventually drops.
Microsoft confirmed that the community folder will be a direct transfer. All aircraft will work in 2024 at launch (according to Microsoft), only some mods won't work which deal with scenery
While Microsoft has said that 2020 planes will work in 2024, the newer game has more advanced aerodynamics modeling. So planes can be improved for 2024. The question still remains if these plane makers will allow 2020 owners to get any 2024 improvements for free. I'm holding off on buying more 2020 planes because it isn't 100% clear what will happen.
