I would appreciate if you could let me know how to make room for vocals in beat with spacer plugin from patcher.
If you beats are too crowded, nothing will make space for a vocal composition.. try removing some elements from your beat first, I’ve been in many studios over the years and I’ve never seen a good beat maker/producer use these space maker plugins.. go and study beats that you like and count how many sounds they have, you’ll thank me down the road when you get good at it.. plug-ins almost always, won’t save you from your mistakes ❤
It's clear you are asking "how do I", and not "should I", so I'll tell ya how, @doganayoguz3654...
So you have an instrument that is clashing with the vocals...my first suggestion is to use an EQ on the offending instrument and reduce a few dBs from around 1K - 5k (really each situation will be different, perhaps 2.5k - 4k will be best, just gotta play around a little. I would say to do this with one token on the EQ and widen the Q setting until it scoops the vocal range out of the offending sound).
I'd recommend the EQ approach first, if that still doesn't suit your taste, pull the EQ and setup the spacer clone like this.
First attach a sidechain from the vocal track to the offending instrument, then load the spacer clone on the offending instrument it has to be done in this order for the spacer clone to work properly, the spacer clone is now listening to the vocals and dropping the offending sound to make room for the vocal. You can sidechain to all offending channels individually and use multiple instances of the spacer clone, or send all offending sounds to a bus and apply the spacer clone only once.
What @skrypture1162 is saying sounds like hoity toity nonsense, "nothing will make space"..."no one uses those"..."plugins wont save you from your mistakes" yeah ok! There's a ton of ways to do things. @skrypture1162 isn't wrong outright, just a little pretentious, too many sounds may make your life a living hell when trying to make it all come together, but sparse mixes are a thing just as much as dense mixes, so if you're destined to "crowd" the mix then do what you want to do. What this person sees in studios on their own time has lead them to choose sparse mixes as their style and has absolutely nothing to do with how you choose to produce and the path you're on. I truly can't believe they commented just to try a jedi mind trick like these are not the plugins you're looking for, lmao. I wonder why Frank Pole had so many happy people saying they love Spacer, if...ya know...nobody uses it.
