Like the rock wool insulation. Too often builders do not remember to ventilate. Must always allow the moisture an escape route. By neglecting this, your roof sheathing will rot from the moisture that will collect above the insulation. (created by heating from stove plus insulation is not perfect. It slows heat transfer but is not a vapor barrier). Would have been better to put the ceiling directly on bottom of rafters and rock wool flush to bottom of rafters, leaving one and half inch between top of wool and bottom of roof sheathing. Then put small screened vents on outside at top of wall above the insulation and a ridge vent entire length of ridge (at peak). This will allow air to enter at bottom and this airflow will take moisture out the ridge like a chimney. I did not say this to be mean, but I have made this mistake myself. Live and learn.
Very good! Did you ever think to store your wood bundles in that space where the old roof and new roof connect. Seems a great way to save floor space and keep the wood dry.
I picked up a few pointers, including how to firm up the pallet walls. I love working with Rockwool --just redid the attic with it last summer after cleaning 130 years of dust and debris. Thanks!
Very nice, I love to see people re purposing things foe useful materials. I'm just a little surprised you don't need more angle on the roof to deal with the snow load.
You have shown me how to build my workshop come summer in South Africa 🇿🇦. It's only going to be 3mx2m. I am still sourcing pellets. Recycling as much as i can. Need to keep costs way down.
Ceilins beams visibles? I loved , you can paint them, Dark brown , o the color you like it , and is very decorative for de hall room. Beautyful work ,y will copy what you do it ,make my own in probably, 5 o 6 months.. THANKS YOU THE BEST.
you did an excellent job on your garage build. Very, very impressive. My only concern is that fireplace. I know there is supposed to be on the inside and outside steel rims that go around the stove pipe to prevent the heat of the pipe starting a fire and the closeness of the insulation to that piping. Other than that excellent job!
@@macmacdonald1507 Hey, somewhere under the comment I wrote all the sums up to now. but so far about a few thousand euros and the cost is still to come. Thank you!
I was surprised you didn't push the door all the way right to give extra room on the driver's side of a vehicle because of the wood stove being on the left side of the garage
Hey, this is because the old part is in a clean garage/hobby house there is also a sofa and a refrigerator. The new garage is a so called dirty workspace where I cut, weld, etc. Thank you!
You are a wonderful builder. Your Karl is wrong and is probably a little jealous of you. Good luck to you, health to you and your family. May everything be fine with you.
Should there be actually a proper moisture stopper like plastic inside behind your sheating because if you heat inside and outside is cold, then moisture is gradually end into insulation? At least building houses always needs to do like this way. Correct me if I loose something in your video!
Hey, probably yes, this is one reason why there is paper on the wall. the ceiling came as it is. It is also worth noting that I am not building a house, I am not a professional builder and this is not a how to build video. Thank you!

that's a good idea, but I'll put a vent pipe in there. Thank you!
Doing a great job .
Thank you!
Fantastic. Will be a lovely warm shed. Especially with the winters you guys get
Yes, with this small fireplace, this room can be warmed up quickly, and with the insulation, it also keeps it warm. Thank you!
I laughed at "Like a glove." Nice one!
LOL. Thanks!

Those 4 frames of the nighttime outside the garage with the word "Darkness" was a nice little easter egg.

Progress is great, you will have a nice cosy shed when finished. Cheers, Don from South Aust.

Wonderful job 👍🙏

Thank you! I am still working on the edges of the chimney, but there is already fireproof insulation there.
All the best to you!
That wool insulation is nice, I’d rather use it than the fiberglass. ❤
Hey, rock wool is really good and easy to install. Thank you!
Good job
Thanks !
Well done very impressive I hope you don't mind but how much roughly did the build cost kind regards

Agree a closed cab tractor with climate control is a must in northern regions.
that's right, already in autumn we enjoy a warm cabin
Thank you!
We need part 5
Hey, working on it. Thank you!
hello from the Netherlands .
thanks for the video .

Hey, it mostly becomes a workshop, but if necessary, I can also drive a car in there.
Thank you!
Why have you left the roof and wall of the other structure and not taken them down?
Hey, this is because the old part is in a clean garage/hobby house there is also a sofa and a refrigerator. The new garage is a so called dirty workspace where I cut, weld, etc. Thank you!
@@normalguydoesitall it looks great ! Can't wait to see the rest!
❤ idea ❤
thank you!
Excellent work Sir. Im in the process of building my wee man shed Picking up useful tips from you .Thank You.😂
Thank you! all the best to you!
How much was the grand total you spent on everything?
hey, I can't say exactly, but with concrete beams, OSB, etc., about 200 euros.
Thank you!
You are a wonderful builder. Your Karl is wrong and is probably a little jealous of you.
Good luck to you, health to you and your family. May everything be fine with you.
Thank you! And all the best to you!
What was total cost and man hours?
So far, about 2000 euros, but I can't say exactly the working hours, but about 5-7 full days of work.
Thank you!
How many cm of wool on ceiling
Hey, 15cm of wool in the ceiling, i think it is enough for the garage so that the heat does not immediately go through the ceiling. Thank you!
Superbra nu får d,u snart det varmt och skönt😁 ha det gott! hälsar Kent 😁
Thank you! All the best to you Kent from Estonia!
Where’s part 5 😢
I'm sorry, but it will come one day, I've been very busy with other things right now.
Thank you!
