    Like the rock wool insulation. Too often builders do not remember to ventilate. Must always allow the moisture an escape route. By neglecting this, your roof sheathing will rot from the moisture that will collect above the insulation. (created by heating from stove plus insulation is not perfect. It slows heat transfer but is not a vapor barrier). Would have been better to put the ceiling directly on bottom of rafters and rock wool flush to bottom of rafters, leaving one and half inch between top of wool and bottom of roof sheathing. Then put small screened vents on outside at top of wall above the insulation and a ridge vent entire length of ridge (at peak). This will allow air to enter at bottom and this airflow will take moisture out the ridge like a chimney. I did not say this to be mean, but I have made this mistake myself. Live and learn.

    Very good! Did you ever think to store your wood bundles in that space where the old roof and new roof connect. Seems a great way to save floor space and keep the wood dry.

    I picked up a few pointers, including how to firm up the pallet walls. I love working with Rockwool --just redid the attic with it last summer after cleaning 130 years of dust and debris. Thanks!

    you did an excellent job on your garage build. Very, very impressive. My only concern is that fireplace. I know there is supposed to be on the inside and outside steel rims that go around the stove pipe to prevent the heat of the pipe starting a fire and the closeness of the insulation to that piping. Other than that excellent job!

    • @normalguydoesitall

    Should there be actually a proper moisture stopper like plastic inside behind your sheating because if you heat inside and outside is cold, then moisture is gradually end into insulation? At least building houses always needs to do like this way. Correct me if I loose something in your video!

    • @normalguydoesitall
      @normalguydoesitall  Год назад

      Hey, probably yes, this is one reason why there is paper on the wall. the ceiling came as it is.
      It is also worth noting that I am not building a house, I am not a professional builder and this is not a how to build video.
      Thank you!
