She was fucking 19 when she made Frank, which is probably her best album. I'm 20 and I can barely whistle
+GiantSandles lol
+GiantSandles LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAHAHAHAHA ...
+GiantSandles lol ffs!!
+GiantSandles ....good one...lol
That's her genius
This is how I will remember Amy. Healthy, glowing, thick, confident, cheeky and happy. She was at her PRIME during those Frank-era days. Frank was the perfect mix of pure Jazz and R&B.
I agree with you! In these days she was much pretty.
Please tell me who Frank is. I'm a late comer and I've only been recently drawn into her talent all these years later. Amazing!
2008topshelf Amy's first and best album!
2008topshelf She was doing some Frank Sinatra jazz covers. Amy was a wonderful singer right up until she left us. Even when she fell into her worst bout with her addictions... she could still sing like a songbird. It was sad to see her going down. The saddest part for me was it seemed like no one tried to save her. People boo'd her and heckled her on stage when she was drugged and performing in that state... people made bad jokes about her but who tried to save her? But you know... even when she was in that state... she still sang beautifully... sometimes she couldn't hardly stand up but she could still sing. She's a talent we shouldn't have let slip away.
Sagirah Khalfani I am a big fan of hers but lets be honest her voice declined drastically after Frank era. I am not a big fan of her later music. It was way too dark as result of her drug addiction. Only when she came back to her jazz roots with Tony Bennett did I feel she was getting out of her drug addiction. Then she left us... I wish she had recorded one more jazz r&b album after Frank.
"the only time i hold your hand is to get the angle right". this woman was a true lyricist.
Lmao

Facts
I didn't get it 😅
definitely she is. let say like in her lyrics "roger moore, jamaica & spain, moschino bra, my new badu, black best jew, etc..etc.." her lyrics is very impresive.
This song and the entire frank album is criminally underrated!
Agreed. I think Frank is better than Back to Black in some respects.
Frank is a great album
She looked so gorgeous and healthy here.
+Stargazer I was just thinking the same thing. I had only ever seen her looking all skiny looking like some drug addict with tattoos all over the place and emaciated. I never knew she used to look hot like this. She should have stayed like this. Now she's 6 feet under and probably doesn't look too hot.
+Tim Janakos She was cremated so she doesn't really look like anything anymore.
She should have went out with a little preppy boy like in this video instead of hanging around losers bad boys who got her on heroin.
Like everyone in life she had a choice she chose wrong...
+Tim Janakos Sad but true. She was self-destructive in every way.
She was soooo healthy here, hair healthy, skin healthy, body healthy, just so youthful and ripe for the world!!! Man, I wish we could have gotten more time with her.
No, she actually wasn't "healthy" here. She had been bulimic since age 13 or 14.

I didn't think it was possible to genuinely miss someone I never met until Amy Winehouse passed away
Chris Cornell.
I didn't know much about her and I don't remember hearing her dying alone in her London home from alcohol poisoning at the age of 27 damn she was too young and pretty to die like that
She was around when I was still a little girl I listen to a lot of artist that passed away young but something about Amy being gone makes me so I guess it's because she would still be young If she was here
Yess I wish she was still here to see how many people truly love her :( rest in power amy

Such a tragic loss. This poor baby never had a chance will all the vultures surrounding her. Thanks for gems like these!
It seems like most everyone misses how funny she was. In every one of her best songs there is at least 1 lyric that makes me laugh my ass off every time I hear it. "The only time I hold your hand is to get the angle right..." classic, and kills me every time. She had so much more to give us. Damn I wish she was still here. Peace.
what does it mean? I am the only one who doesn't get it?
@@mitratawakkul1735 No you're not .
@@mitratawakkul1735 I think it is referring to something during sex, for example if he is fingering her and she is holding his hand to make sure he does it correctly, but they don't hold hands in a romantic way while walking down the road together like a couple in love would do. She is sarcastically saying they don't have an emotional connection, at least that is my interpretation

Same here!
What a captivating and hypnotizing voice and her eyes are so beautiful.
She's gorgeous.
absolutely stunning, absolutely heartbreaking.
Too bad she didn’t know it.
Yes.. truly beautiful people aren't aware of how gorgeous they are. She was completely unselfconscious and original. I wonder what could have been done to prevent her tragedy?
SueAnne McAvoy Unfortunately, nothing could be done. The people that were closest to her tried like hell to help her, and she pushed them away. Really a classic-case scenario, to be honest. Addiction is no joke. She just couldn't shake whatever demons she was running from. It's hard to describe that sense of ultimately needing something that you know can/will kill you, unless you've been there.
In the end, she was doing much better, but relapsed and started binge drinking again. She had so much to live for, but her tiny abused body couldn't keep up.

R.I.P Amy
Frank was a bomb ass album great lyrics with infectious beats and sassy themes. Amy was enjoying her music then and being a musician, the fame and limelight was there yet. After this album the critique and scrutiny awakened her many insecurities I guess. Sigh but what a talent, she was great!!!

Sometimes i just need to relax and listen to some Amy. Hear that beautiful soulfoul voice man... she really transcends time.
Every now and then a voice comes along that makes your heart beat faster as you listen, in fact you are forced to sit up and listen, and then you marvel, how can a voice sound that great, that soulful? And you know that the remarkable feeling Amy instils in you is just going to be with you until you die. This is the magical power that Amy had over us, we that loved her and that sweet husky, ethereal, special voice. I will never cease to wonder at how she used to make me feel, how she touched me deeply, and how I lost something in my life when she passed away. I know that I'm not the only one that feels this way. Such a loss, such a special and rare thing was Amy Winehouse.

All thrue
I miss Amy so much. The quality of her music will transcend time, but at least she was one artist that made damn good music that got airplay. When are we going to get awesome songs like this one back on the radio again? She deserved a much better life.
Back to Black was my first experience with Amy. When I first heard You Know I’m No Good on Vh1 something hypnotic drove me to that sound and song. Her voice, the blues/Soul/R&B sound made me get into the beat and her voice was so unique. I had only heard a few songs by her Before she left us. That day I felt so heartbroken, I was thinking about her one and off since 2007 and was shopping to hear more from her. I am glad I discovered more songs but I feel like I never appreciated her as much as I did. Rest In Peace my Queen!
She had such a beautiful face and body and she was so strong before the drugs. Why did she have to destroy herself? She was an amazing artist and I respect her because I have never heard voice and music like that before but I actually love it! She is the queen of jazz and we should all agree to that🙏rip queen👑
Feelings are mutual Anastasia about the drugs. I wish her support system and parents stepped in more aggressively especially after her last concert because she was crying out. At that point, it showed that she had no control and desperately needed help. I still can't understand how people say they care for a person that needs help and fail to be consistent in helping especially if they're family. Seeing this beautiful woman deteriorate in the public eye with people who were supposed to love her is still heartbreaking. I couldn't see a person that I care for or love go through this no matter the effort!

@@starladaqt419 This is true, but the problem is that when someone is badly addict the situation is really bad they tried to help but didn't help *hard* enough.
Especially alcoholism is uncontrollable devil and i speak from personal experience, add meth, heroin and other hard drugs to this and you've got the cocktail of hell.
Things are really really hard then especially when the person is already in a really bad place.
She left us too soon but atleast she gifted us a piece of her amazing work.
She got so skinny because she was bulimic, she had had bulimia since she was 15 she had told her parents that she had found her 'perfect' diet: eating whatever she wanted and then throwing up afterwards'. It was when shit really hit the fan in 2005 that she started using drugs and drink more but her eating disorder spiraled out of control. And it's easy to look at her bloated face and stomach, her rotting teeth and frail frame and think it's all drugs and drink but there actually all clear cut signs of bulimia and anorexia.
I watched a program on her autopsy and the alcohol didn't kill her single handed. She got sober for a 3 weeks prior to her death meaning she could have survived such a large quantity a few weeks earlier but her tolerance had been lowered, mix this with her eating disorder and how her body was probably shutting down already and its deadly. If her liver was damaged from alcohol and then further damaged from undernourishment it's a death sentence. Even if she had stayed sober she probably would have died not long after from how frail she was and with her continuing to lose weight she would reach a point where she couldn't be brought back
@@starladaqt419 You can't help someone that's not willing to help themselves. Her death is her own fault and no one elses.
