    Hey Shane, maybe you could do a video on the best/safest way to practice sparring when you have limited access to equipment and workout space. I staff at a social center that's offering free self-defense classes (I don't teach, I don't know shit, I've just been learning), and we try to get some sparring in there, but it's all no/phantom contact. Most of the people are interested in stepping it up, as they want to practice as if it's a real fight, but we don't wanna get anyone seriously hurt. Thanks!

      Wrestling is great because you also learn how to properly cut weight, team building, and real grappling training. I did Taekwondo first, which really helped with my kicking, balance, and footwork. Each art has its benefits!

    • @Sounds_about_right

      the forehead is the strongest part of the skull, and often will win against a fist, if you can survive giving yourself a concussion then go for the headbutt :')

    • @billytheweasel

    • @jordantheseriousmmaanalyst1318

      It's true if you can get a guy to punch bare knuckle onto your forehead or you are out of defensive options then it works great. Strong angled skull vs small bones is gonna fuck up something even the wrist is easily badly damaged like that.

    I became boxer heavy on my stance up top. I've developed a modified, kinda curled Thai stance. The elbows are still flared though not prominent. I have a short torso compared to my legs so it's not a problem to rotate for knees and such.
    When you catch the the leg rotate and drop an elbow on the knee. 😂😂

    It doesn't work so much if you're clinching to taller guy , only if you're super gud at Muay Thai when u apply the Muay Thai plum ur controlling his neck , by controlling his neck u can control his body (your friend Khan is much taller than u ) ,it's better to take him down if u want no part of exchange and let's assume he doesn't know what to do on the ground so u can exploit from here if u have some bjj experience (sorry iknow my English is bad) btw luv ur videos Shane :)

      Hey Shane i need some advice on my boxing training:
      My Coach once said that "the more fit a person is even if that person sucks at boxing
      ( here i mean some months training in two years boxing experience)
      that person has still a chance of winning"
      is that true???
      and yeah I did train for almost two years you could say, but because of money I took a lot of breaks like 1-2 months or so. But is there a way to practice without going to a gym?
      And in your opinion would I be classified as a underdog fighter based upon the little story I just told you.
      thanks for hearing me out

    • @panpiper
      @panpiper 7 лет назад

      You might want to edit your comment. "the more fit a person is even if that person sucks at boxing" is not a sentence and is semantically meaningless. I am 100% certain that is not what your coach said, and what he actually said is not at all obvious from what you wrote.

    • @gersonembalo3655
      @gersonembalo3655 7 лет назад

      well he said it on a different way but the way I understood was that that boxing is also about getting fit because the better shape the more you can handle in the ring
      thats what I understood
      am I still wrong???

    Knee is always a good ice breaker. 😂.
    A traditional shell is great for elbows. Think about it.

      thanks for responding Shane haha love your videos man, I've been doing the stretches you do in your video to be more flexible haha and my question is, is taekwondo effective in MMA? I've done kick boxing before so I got the basics but I want to throw in some taekwondo

    Have you tried or saw it working in actual sparring? With full speed and intent?

      Many times. Look up Pe-teng Kiatphontip -- he uses it often.

    the Mexicans where I grew up.
    had that weird hands up by the forehead while crouched low stance...like a muy Thai stance. constantly smothering their opponents punches. this reminded me of that.

      +DarkCarter It is harder to kick someone in the head in a proper neat fisted fight! Also you can throw about 3 punches in between each kick.

      You're right, but you should have better speed. Utilize feints, quick combos, and stick and move!

      I would think that utilizing leg kicks would be the approach, personally, I would prefer oblique kicks agaisnt much larger opponents.
