Here's a MMA/self defense tutorial on how to fight someone who throws a lot of punches non-stop. One strategy is to nullify their punching by getting into the Muay Thai clinch.

We need a video of you sparring. Then commentary it and telling us what you did and how you read your opponent. Great videos keep it up
Nice vid. I kind of lost you when that girl in the background turned around.
lol FOCUS!
hahahha my man
fightTIPS can you PLEASE do fight like Coban lookchaomaesaitong and fight like enriko kehl
damn long ass name
Chill bro, that was someone's mom
Hey I've been there. In GTA 5.
Hahah
me2
SeptixSkeptix LOL
I'm sure the seventeen people who disliked the video are knuckleheads who are like, "Nah, man. I eat punches."
Great video by the way. I tend to get overwhelmed in Boxing by 'volume-punchers', so this is great for me.
Flying knee is always the answer, even in boxing.
Until you get flippin' banned from throwing flying knees.
This has been my question for 2 years! Thank you for finally making this video!
You got it! Sorry it took so long
Good news Shane! I've been doing capoeira/boxing on and off but I'm really interested to incorporate the styles but seem to struggle with position and motion (keeping these movements as fluid as possible) I've also enjoyed your videos on diet and cardio which has given plenty of food for thought. Thanks mate!
That is just what I wanted, thank you Shane you are the best bro.
Thanks for taking your own time to show others your skills and knowledge. I appreciate that a lot. Your videos are easy to follow with good technique while also entertaining. Cheers bro!
Thanks so much for the support!
Once again, there is one person who dislikes immediately. Who are you? Did you subscribe purely to dislike as fast as possible? Why?
It's probably you. Stfu
What a plot twist!
@@DefeatLust it is definitely you
@@techofthefuture9840 loool, 3 years ago with my attitude? Probably 😂
Hey Shane! Really awesome video today! :) You should do some more self defense videos! I think it really helps everybody out haha!
Once again Shane😍😍, but great video as always!! 👍
Hey Shane, maybe you could do a video on the best/safest way to practice sparring when you have limited access to equipment and workout space. I staff at a social center that's offering free self-defense classes (I don't teach, I don't know shit, I've just been learning), and we try to get some sparring in there, but it's all no/phantom contact. Most of the people are interested in stepping it up, as they want to practice as if it's a real fight, but we don't wanna get anyone seriously hurt. Thanks!
thanks man helps out a lot
Hey Shane, Sick video once again :). I was just wondering if circuit training would be good for a MMA fighter?
Nice video Shane
Owe yeah. Great Great video Shane. Thanks and stay strong
Thank you, you too!
nice punch Shane thank you
love the vids lately!!!!
Thank you! Great to hear.
thank you for doing a clench video I really wanted one
Nice, actually really great advice
hey Shane I know most of the stuff in your videos but it's still a brilliant channel ... thanks man
Thanks Adam :)
Your welcome man
great video, Shane
Thank you!
Great stuff, I have been doing Thai boxing for a few years now but these guys still have some very handy tips
Ah, I appreciate that!
Great advice. Now I just have to get good in the clinch... work in progress.
Amen, stick with it!
This is gonna be so useful for me cuz most of the time I fight tall guys with long arms who just stay outta my range and keep punching and most of the time I need to enforce the clinch to take him to the ground. Thanks Shane :)
I was right there with you until 1:45
BEST background EVER!
Ah thanks Ivan!
awesome video
I love your videos👌
nice Video. allways inspiriing to train some of these situations
Thanks Thomas, glad to hear it
Thanks from France Shane !
Could you make a video about judo throw against the Muay Thaï clinch ?
Hi Shane, excellent video by the way, but i wanted to ask if you could do a video on your opinion in Karate, im a kyokushin student and even though i still find your videos of extreme help i noticed that you tend to not talk about this martial art, if you already did a video on that i apologize hahaha, grettings and take care, big fan from chile ; D
hii shane! good video man!
Thanks Mohamed!
That "rambo" behind them!!!!
video idea: How to get a girlfriend with fighting.
Fight like a badass and her vagina will automatically turn into wet mode XD
I'm not sure you want a girlfriend who was attracted to you specifically for 'fighting'. On the other hand, women definitely like men who are in good shape, who are confident and who make them feel safe. A dedicated martial artist would certainly fit that bill.
knock her out and bring to your Cave
easy, just beat her into submission
Mayweather her and beef up your record
This is actually good for me because this guy that always tries to fights be punches alot so if he starts ill use this thanks guys
Be safe, brotha!
Will do
Hey Shane I'm a new fan of the channel! Gotta say first off I think the fight tips are great however I have a question or request for a future video; could you do a video about capoeira?? Thanks Shane! All the best 😉
Thanks for the support, Damien! For sure, I'll be on the lookout for a Capoeira instructor to help teach on fightTIPS :)
Cool video man
Thanks man!
Nice thanks mate
You got it, brotha
yes keep it up
Good techniques fast punch reverse
Hey Shane can you teach us how to move around the ring and not get stuck in a corner?
Great video man!
But where is your buddy ant he is a great example for your videos and that guy is too funny
Thanks Shane ! I'm gonna try it when i meet Conor...
Hahahaha what about that chad mendes fight?
Hey Shane! How's it going man love the channel.
I wanted to ask what you think the best base to get into MMA with?
I would think wrestling so you can dictate where you want the fight to go, but what's your opinion?
Wrestling is great because you also learn how to properly cut weight, team building, and real grappling training. I did Taekwondo first, which really helped with my kicking, balance, and footwork. Each art has its benefits!
ty
Can you do a video on how to fight someone who has a big reach advantage? For muay thai.
Could you make a video regarding muay boran, muay kard chiek,Muay Chaiya any of these or more like Krabi Krabong or all :P
shane can you breakdown how to do the mawashi kaiten geri
Thats just what did arlovsky against fedor (flying knee) ! but you aint fighting no Fedor on the streets :p !
Thanks for the awesome content ! always quality stuff
This is true, but Arlovski's hands were way to low wheb he attempted the knee and he didn't trap.
Give us your opinion on Stephen Thompson Vs Tyron Woodley And Eddie Alvarez vs Conor McGregor!
The best moves for me in the clinch would probably be like a hip toss, or a front headlock
I was thinking about this vid earlier
;)
Muay Thai goals!
;)
What about covering your head with both hands and when he gets close or comfy you elbow him in the head and then you kick him in the face with the other fist?
Should do a video like fighting off two guys while with your girlfriend. Lots of bullies at school will approach you when you're with your girlfriend to make you fight in front of her or make you look bad in front of her would love to see your take on a situation like this. Love the videos Shane 👊🏼
+fightTIPS Can you do a video of how to disable an opponent with no danger of seriously injuring them? There's been a few incidents in my area of people getting killed from a punch, it happened again just last week, and naturally if you go for the KO you're running the risk of them hitting their head on the concrete too.
i gotta be honest as soon as the woman entered the shot i Lost you xd. but can you do a video on how to Control the clinch and if you already have one i was just checking to see if you know all your vids cuse i toataly do.
I have a few on the clinch of fightTIPS, and even more on myfightgym.com
really enjoying your channel Shane
cheers
after slipping how do you get a clinch I have an idea how but didn't see you do it.
Headbutt their fists. Trust me.
Good strategy, you will go to sleep and it will be all over when you wake up.
Kash Karti It's possible to break his knuckles with your forehead, but you shouldn't head bud his fists. It's rather better to use it to block.
the forehead is the strongest part of the skull, and often will win against a fist, if you can survive giving yourself a concussion then go for the headbutt :')
Isn't it better to helmet guard and use your elbows to break his hands?
It's true if you can get a guy to punch bare knuckle onto your forehead or you are out of defensive options then it works great. Strong angled skull vs small bones is gonna fuck up something even the wrist is easily badly damaged like that.
good stuff. I learn a lot from you, but a word to the wise: be careful catching those punches. I got my index finger dislocated on my right hand doing that.
I became boxer heavy on my stance up top. I've developed a modified, kinda curled Thai stance. The elbows are still flared though not prominent. I have a short torso compared to my legs so it's not a problem to rotate for knees and such.
When you catch the the leg rotate and drop an elbow on the knee. 😂😂
Shane, you should do a Fight Like on yourself.
Daniel Cormier uses those hand trapping techniques all the time
Nice vid shane, can't really use this since I'm boxing but still good to know. Oh yeah can you good over this move in one of your videos, its called the Dempsey roll its from a boxing anime called "hajime no ippo" but it looks like it could be used in the real world. Could you go over if it would work and if so how?
Do your own research on this, 5 min of googling will give you tons of info about Jack Dempsey.
George Foreman and Muhammad Ali used hand trapping all the time in boxing! Noted on the Dempsey roll :)
Yeah I got that part but I was thinking of a more aggressive type of roll. Maybe taking a page out of the mike tyson book of fighting. I don't know, I just wanted to hear from an expert
the clinch is essential in boxing, grappling skills are needed in boxing in the clinch.
GRILLL
Can you do a video how to clinch takedown a stronger guy
This is exactly what I needed. I keep sparring with someone who loves boxing non-stop xD
Perfect!
Keep up the good work! :-) I'm going to practice getting into the clinch! They won't see it coming, hehehe :-P
Thank you
I am a underdog
I like it
Thank you!
very nice
Thanks John
I really enjoy your Videos. one of the most informative channels.
I appreciate that John, really
im 16 bro i box at a gym in cleveland ohio yo videos help me alot
Getting into a clinch is one of the few moves you can use successfully in AND out of the ring. You would have to be pretty calm with the guys I had fights with!
more clinch work for october
they're in the Griffith Observatory
Can you do a video on how to fight some1 who throws a lot of lightning fast heavy kicks... Every1 of them are enough to knock some1 out?? I mean to say how to fight them without eating any kicks...
Keep up the good work, your vids helped me staying safe :)
Great to hear :)
how do u get over ur fear of getting knocked out? BTW that's different from the fear of getting hit.
Have you heard about Cecilia Brækhus?? The Norwagian boxer
I have not, I'll have to check him out
Hey Shane, I recently got jumped by 6 people. I was just wondering if you have any tips to deal with the situation if it should happen again.
Against 6 opponents? Pepper spray, then use your moves while they're distracted
What should you do if a girl is trying to fight you (if you're a guy)?
It doesn't work so much if you're clinching to taller guy , only if you're super gud at Muay Thai when u apply the Muay Thai plum ur controlling his neck , by controlling his neck u can control his body (your friend Khan is much taller than u ) ,it's better to take him down if u want no part of exchange and let's assume he doesn't know what to do on the ground so u can exploit from here if u have some bjj experience (sorry iknow my English is bad) btw luv ur videos Shane :)
Maybe defense from multiple opponents at once in next video, things to look out for when multiple people want to mug you, beat you up?
Also want to add that you are one of my favourite youtuber, you listen to your viewers and post useful content :)
They already did that I think you can find it under the playlists tab
Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words! I did cover this topic in a video before, but many have been asking for it again: ruclips.net/video/FB_JdqokeVQ/видео.html
You deserve those words!
that would be great plzzz😅
Hey Shane!!!
What's up Ricardo!
R.I.P Pepe.
Hey Shane i need some advice on my boxing training:
My Coach once said that "the more fit a person is even if that person sucks at boxing
( here i mean some months training in two years boxing experience)
that person has still a chance of winning"
is that true???
and yeah I did train for almost two years you could say, but because of money I took a lot of breaks like 1-2 months or so. But is there a way to practice without going to a gym?
And in your opinion would I be classified as a underdog fighter based upon the little story I just told you.
thanks for hearing me out
You might want to edit your comment. "the more fit a person is even if that person sucks at boxing" is not a sentence and is semantically meaningless. I am 100% certain that is not what your coach said, and what he actually said is not at all obvious from what you wrote.
well he said it on a different way but the way I understood was that that boxing is also about getting fit because the better shape the more you can handle in the ring
thats what I understood
am I still wrong???
Knee is always a good ice breaker. 😂.
A traditional shell is great for elbows. Think about it.
Am I the only one who says "What's goin' on guys, Shane here" to myself before each video starts?!
Haha I love it!

Shane answer me!! I have a question about taekwondo and MMA
What's the question, brotha
thanks for responding Shane haha love your videos man, I've been doing the stretches you do in your video to be more flexible haha and my question is, is taekwondo effective in MMA? I've done kick boxing before so I got the basics but I want to throw in some taekwondo
Have you tried or saw it working in actual sparring? With full speed and intent?
Many times. Look up Pe-teng Kiatphontip -- he uses it often.
On a side note, who does jogging in a tube top?
plz
1:30 on the left
What?
Why the underdogs
the Mexicans where I grew up.
had that weird hands up by the forehead while crouched low stance...like a muy Thai stance. constantly smothering their opponents punches. this reminded me of that.
Oh man it looks exactly like the observatory in GTA 5.
It is haha
Yeahhhh
who is better in street fight, boxing or kickboxing ? :D
Three things that are completely different.
it's not about which is better, it's about how good you are and who you're fighting against
kick Boxing cuz u learn to kick aswell its common sense lmao
"Who" is better? A martial art isn't a person, dude. Lol
+DarkCarter It is harder to kick someone in the head in a proper neat fisted fight! Also you can throw about 3 punches in between each kick.
What is the best way to take down a bigger person you should do a video of that and please say my name in a video
Have you seen this one yet? ruclips.net/video/HSmFMNfQwZ8/видео.html
Where Is this?
Griffith Observatory
What height are you Shane?
Kinda personal xD
what if he is a lot bigger than me than i think it is not a good idea to clinch up
You're right, but you should have better speed. Utilize feints, quick combos, and stick and move!
I would think that utilizing leg kicks would be the approach, personally, I would prefer oblique kicks agaisnt much larger opponents.
