Only renowned Chinese singers perform there, by invitation only. Dimash was invited as a wild card, the only foreigner, the youngest in the history of the competition, unknown in China. The competition is murderous, lasts 4 months. They put Dimash first because they didn't think it would go any further. The people shown in the video are other competitors who hear him for the first time. The judges are 500 people, all from the music industry and 1.6 billion TV viewers. As at the first song, SOS he showed he was overqualified, they gave him the position of invited artist and who won the contesta was a chinese female Singer, and Dimash in second place. Before The Singer, he had already won many awards in his country and eastern countries. He has been trained since the age of five. He had 6 years old when he won a piano competition. His parents are singers and considered "honorable artists of Kazahkstan". Dimash has now 26 and on june 18th he got his Master degree in musical composition. He plays piano, guitar, drums, dombra (national instrument from his country). He had sang in 10 languages. He speaks kazakh, russian, English and still learning mandarín. He has a loving personality, he is kind and funny and humble. His vocal range is more than 7 octaves (nobody really knows how far he can go). Dimash was 22 years old when he was on the show "I am a Singer". He was a "wild card" contestant, not being a professional Chinese singer. He wowed the World. The day after this performance he needed bodyguards to go around town. He started Classical training at 5 years old and was on the path to be an opera singer. He turned down a position in an Opera Company in order to branch out into other genres. He had since become the "Best Singer" in the world. He can sing anything from Rap to Opera to Pop. And do it with a 6+ octave range and pitch perfect. The professional Vocal Coaches have commented that between his physiology and his extensive training, all he has to do is WANT to hit a note and his body will do whatever it has to do to give him the power to "get it done". He really is amazing. Anything you choose to react to from him will blow you away. The real "magic" of Dimash is not only does he have the technical prowess to sing better than anyone else. Great reaction. First time listening to Dimash is mind blowing and leaves one speechless. I'm primarily a rock/metal fan and just by accident heard this song and was left in a daze. This was a chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3, 1/4 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. Dimash is a master of breath control and has the ability to change cords, manipulate his cords into doing what seems to be the impossible. The Singer is a competition for established famous singers on invitation only - which already is considered an honor. Dimash was invited as a wild card completely unknown to the Chinese audience and at 22 the youngest ever. Already the first song catapulted him to a superstar in China overnight and that was just the first step. He has millions of fans litteraly all over the world. He is a once in a lifetime singer (or more than one lifetime) so don't worry about the technical side as even professionals struggle to explain how he is doing some things he is doing with his voice that should not be possible for a male singer, just enjoy the ride - every new song brings a new surprise - you just scratched the surface of he is capable of.

I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. SONG OF DIMASH IN FRENCH “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) STORY BEHIND THE SONG : The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania. Originally it was sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986, who is known of his beautiful voice. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” means in a sad lyrics says … “a soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress” because it is a human being who is in anguish searching for the absolute. Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discerned well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that, it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with humility, discernment and faith in God. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God. Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and is now subject to suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but now is already part of our human lives reality. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and even argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Only renowned Chinese singers perform there, by invitation only. Dimash was invited as a wild card, the only foreigner, the youngest in the history of the competition, unknown in China. The competition is murderous, lasts 4 months. They put Dimash first because they didn't think it would go any further. As at the first song, SOS he showed he was overqualified, they gave him the position of invited artist and who won the contesta was a chinese female Singer, and Dimash in second place. Before The Singer, he had already won many awards in his country and eastern countries. He has been trained since the age of five. He had 6 years old when he won a piano competition. His parents are singers and considered "honorable artists of Kazahkstan". Dimash has now 26 and on june 18th he got his Master degree in musical composition.
He plays piano, guitar, drums, dombra (national instrument from his country). He had sang in 10 languages. He speaks kazakh, russian, English and still learning mandarín.
He has a loving personality, he is kind and funny and humble.

Dimash was 22 years old when he was on the show "I am a Singer". He was a "wild card" contestant, not being a professional Chinese singer. He wowed the World. The day after this performance he needed bodyguards to go around town. He started Classical training at 5 years old and was on the path to be an opera singer. He turned down a position in an Opera Company in order to branch out into other genres. He had since become the "Best Singer" in the world. He can sing anything from Rap to Opera to Pop. And do it with a 6+ octave range and pitch perfect. The professional Vocal Coaches have commented that between his physiology and his extensive training, all he has to do is WANT to hit a note and his body will do whatever it has to do to give him the power to "get it done". He really is amazing. Anything you choose to react to from him will blow you away. The real "magic" of Dimash is not only does he have the technical prowess to sing better than anyone else. This was a chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3, 1/4 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. Dimash is a master of breath control and has the ability to change cords, manipulate his cords into doing what seems to be the impossible. The Singer is a competition for established famous singers on invitation only - which already is considered an honor. Dimash was invited as a wild card completely unknown to the Chinese audience and at 22 the youngest ever. Already the first song catapulted him to a superstar in China overnight and that was just the first step. He has millions of fans litteraly all over the world. He is a once in a lifetime singer (or more than one lifetime) so don't worry about the technical side as even professionals struggle to explain how he is doing some things he is doing with his voice that should not be possible for a male singer, just enjoy the ride - every new song brings a new surprise - you just scratched the surface of he is capable of.

I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition.
The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his viewers worldwide especially the young will learned from his optimistic views in pursuing his professional fields to the optimum level especially his confidence, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music.
The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music at maximum or more than 6 octaves with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..? Alien..?
I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 21 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted by God with grace for music but his years of hard work of practice and experiences proved it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible.
My other concerns whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..?
Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it.
With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me.

SONG OF DIMASH IN FRENCH “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death)
STORY BEHIND THE SONG : The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania. Originally it was sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986, who is known of his beautiful voice. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” means in a sad lyrics says … “a soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress” because it is a human being who is in anguish searching for the absolute.
Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith.
For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discerned well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that, it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with humility, discernment and faith in God.
Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God.
Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” as Saint Paul reminded us that “our present sufferings are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later.
Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and is now subject to suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but now is already part of our human lives reality.
Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and even argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless.
If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life, if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others.
Death is the end of our earthly life. Since it is unknown to all of us, the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times, otherwise we are being caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in happiness.

He was an unknown wildcard from Kazakhstan and the youngest competitor against famous and established Chinese singers. He was the very first contestant in the 14 week long competition and quickly gained fame in China. The rest of the world is finally discovering him. He is not only the best singer in the world but he is humble, kind, sweet, adorable, loving, and smart. (He just completed his Masters class and received a mark of 100% on his thesis. He is now working toward his PHD.) Dimash can sing beautifully in any genre from opera to rap. I know most people say he has a 6 octave range, but he keeps working so hard on his vocals that I think it is even higher now!! (One reactor has checked out his range and says it is now 7 octaves!!) He signed with Chinese BG Talent in 2016 before going on I am Singer. Don’t think it’s for more than 5 years? And in June, signed with American IPZ agency. He’s wants control over his creative work, I’m sure both sides are happy.

I've got a "special" thing against these sharks, as they are after profit only and they translate every "move" their artists make into a "what's in it for me" stuff; I am particularly referring to Dimash's charity work and time spent with various people with special needs.

This video is from the Chinese reality show, “I am a Singer.” He was the only foreign singer on the show and placed second (primarily due to political considerations in which no Chinese singer should lose on a state-run Broadcast show). SOS was his first performance on the show and it was seen by more than 600 million Chinese. It vaulted Dimash Into a major Asian star and since 2017, he has focused his talents in Asia. If you want to see him sing rock you have to check out The Show Must Go On, one of his other performances on The Singer. His pronunciation isn’t great as he was just beginning to learn English, but his singing ability more than makes up for it.
He is at the top of my play list everyday. I found him 2 months ago. I don't personally think there is any other singer that has the range, technicality and charisma that Dimash has. He is the King.
