How does the video production process work and how much does it cost?

  • In this video, I'd like to walk through our video production process, which mainly is focused on how we create budgets for our clients. All right, so let's talk about this first example.
    Say we're working with a project that needs a few hours of planning, a whole day of filming, and then some solid editing time, let's say three or four days of editing, which would bring this example to about $7,500. This is only an example some videos cost more, some videos cost less, but we generally start at about $5,000. To work with clients. Sometimes you might just need a single video tailored for a specific purpose. But imagine this... with a bit more effort and planning, we could shape the filming and editing differently to create not only the single video you want, but several videos averaging less per video.
    Now it doesn't mean that each video cost $2,500. One video may cost 5000. Another video may cost 2000, and so on. But in this example, with a $10,000 budget divided by four, we see an average of $2,500 per video, which gives us a better value. Now for a longer term clients that work with us year in and year out, we encourage annual commitments which give us even more value per video. And we're looking at each quarter to create videos that help solve problems and reach goals throughout that year. So we may ask ourselves, why would we need so many different videos. And so this brings us to our very own five pillar strategy. We believe every organization should continually build a library of videos that help grow their brand.
    Remember, video is one of the most powerful ways to communicate and every problem a company faces includes communication issues. So why wouldn't we use the greatest tool on Earth video to solve those problems. Almost every video created can fall into one of these five pillars, including brand awareness, which is a wide net strategy to get viewers to know like and trust you sales and marketing videos which are designed to help sell your product, your service or your brand, and basically increase your overall revenue recruitment videos which are designed to attract and retain Rockstar talent, training videos to help supercharge your team and free up those valuable people, aka the trainers from training repetitive tasks so they can bring more value to the organization and internal communication videos which are the matrix of your entire communication within your company. Imagine a spiderweb of communication designed to keep all of your team members aligned and rowing in the right direction based on your company's mission, vision and values. Now each category serves a specific purpose and contributes differently to the overall strategy. And the video examples within each pillar. It's just a starting point.
    These are just examples. It's a collaborative process where together we explore all the ways we can communicate to your external and internal audiences through video. But what I love most about video is that it's powerful, because it's combining audio to tell the story and visuals to show the story both at the same time and it never calls in sick and it's always consistent. the budgeting process is divided in three stages, pre production, production, and post production.
    Once we gather enough information, we can estimate the time needed for each of these three stages, so we can build out an accurate proposal for you. But it's also important to note that not every video requires the same level of production value, we balanced quality and quantity based on the specifics of each project. This Inverse triangle illustrates the approach where we see fewer high quality videos costing more. While a larger number of simpler cost effective videos can be produced at a lower budget. The idea is to balance your video library and not spend too much where you don't need to. If this strategy makes sense to you. I believe there's a lot we can achieve together.
