People here don't understand how a modular synthesizer works. This is an abstracted version of a modular synth called Reactable, with samples and oscillators. It's not fake at all, it started as an academic research project, and it's fully featured and based on the PureData language. You can do more than this kind of music with it.
The Reactable is a round translucent table, used in a darkened room, and appears as a backlit display. By placing blocks called tangibles on the table, and interfacing with the visual display via the tangibles or fingertips, a virtual modular synthesizer is operated, creating music or sound effects. 2008 first mobile version.. on ipod,i-phone and many more .. in EUROPA 10,000 euro for chash to buy.
most likely device is connected to ableton live. red square trigger the track, green square - seems like volume. i wonder, what's blue hexagon for - compressor? and what gives turning red squares around?
There are plenty of Cubes AND the sound of a cube is alternated by the distance and position related to other objects/cubes, so after all you should have unlimited sounds.
@rathat48 Nope. It uses cameras and symbol recognition. No RFIDs. There are symbols printed on the cubes (fiducials), and a camera located under the table that picks up the symbols, and they are analyzed using some algorithms.
