I think what's even more screwed up about the Charmy thing is that he technically is a teenager in the Archie comics, he just has permanent brain damage that regressed him to a 6 year old mentally. The author, Ian Flynn, couldn't think of anything else to do to make his character better fit Sega's mandates at the time and has gone on record to say that he vastly regrets this decision.
The English manual for Knuckles’ Chaotix listed Charmy as 16 and that’s what Ken Penders went off of. He was also a runaway prince who felt pressured by the responsibility of royalty, so idk if him and Saffron were like an arranged marriage or just dating normally, but there’s that. Years later, Ian Flynn decided to retcon him to act 6 by having him receive permanent brain damage when he was caught in a device Eggman built to drain lifeforms of their energy, of all things. By Flynn’s own admission, not one of his best writing moments…
It should be noted that the "Retcon" wasn't Ian's decision. The manual for Sonic Heroes is where the younger age came from, and Ian was instructed to bring the comic version of the character in line with that.

Okay, more context for Honey the Cat. Sonic the Fighters was built off of the same engine as a previous arcade fighting game that Sega made (I think it was Virtuafighter, but don't quote me on that). In THAT fighting game, there was a character named Honey, and she looked just like Honey the Cat does, but she was human. One of the developers of Sonic the Fighters designed and programmed in Honey the Cat as an homage to the fighting game engine that they were using. He wasn't able to justify actually implementing her in the final game though. Some time after the game was released on Gamecube through the Sonic Gems collection (it was just the arcade game being emulated), fans digging through the files found Honey the Cat and were... half successful at hacking her into the game over Amy's moveset. She was very buggy though, and her model wouldn't even load in correctly. The character gained a cult following though. So when Sega ported (not emulated) Sonic the Fighters to the XBox 360, they made it to where you could imput a cheat code to replace Amy wkth Honey the Cat, making her playable in an official capacity, with her own unique moveset and everything. They also introduced her in the Archie comics around this time, making her backstory and personality very similar to the original Honey character she was based off of.

@@Ann_Artist What's funny is that shortly after her files were found, somebody in an interview asked (insert dev name I forgot here) about finding her in the files, and (dev name) assumed that fans had just found Honey's files left over and explained about how it was built off of that fighting game, and that it would make sense if some stuff was left over. But then the interviewer corrected him and said that it looked like a Sonic character version of Honey. So (dev name) laughed and said that it must have been one of the other dev's fooling around.

The voicework by the channel Adrenaline Dubs is the best way to catch up with the IDW comics! (I also recommend the channel MegaBeatMan True Blue Reviews too!)
I think the art you did for the hopper hog was a Sonic statue from an athletic event (also in archie's earlier years, they used the Chaotix' Charmy description. He's stated to be 15-16 in the manual US only)
This was a lot of fun to watch and I loved your design for the fake/bootleg characters! They're so cool and cute too! If a Zelda video does happen I can't wait to see how that goes! Also for Honey the Cat, she's actually a fun cameo character from another Sega fighting game, Fighting Vipers. Honey does get added back in the 2012 HD version of Sonic Fighters so there is that! Oh and Archie!Knuckles' future wife (what a mouthful) is another Echidna named Julie-Su. They can be cute depending on who's writing them imo!

Honey is from Fighting Vipers. Her name was changed to Candy for the Western release for some reason.
