It's always such a pleasure to watch you play these kind of games, Blue, since you seem to care as much about the story, lore, and atmosphere as you do about the raw gameplay, and that makes for a more enjoyable watch, especially for something like this which clearly seems to be asking the player to invest emotionally into its world. (And just for the record, you were right the first time; it's pronounced RES-pit, rhyming with spit, rather than res-PITE. No spite to be found in these respites!)
I played through the early access build and so far didn't see much difference in the final version. Haven't completely caught back up though. Happy you're playing this, really enjoyed the first series you did.
Not a native speaker, but as I will be hearing the word a lot: Isn't respite "res'pit" as in "spit" instead of "res'paite" as in "despite"? (rethorical question, becuase I of course googled it.., but maybe where you live people have a strange accent :) )
Also this might just be because I watched this on my phone, but the sound effects seem a bit loud compared to your voice and the music. Would be cool if you could lower their volume a little in future videos.
