Awesome video! That Velcro tab is amazingly useful. I hope to see that on all new designs. My maiden of this EDF was problem free. I had the CG closer to the 70mm mark (63 +\- 7) using the 1300mAh battery and that eliminated the tendency to drop in turns which happened when I tried the 2200 battery.
Sounds like you had a great experience! My mistake, I tried to fly this with a 4S battery and no dice. A couple of things is that the plane power system doesn't like the 4S. Once I did get it in the air, I couldn't keep up with it. It may have been quicker than the V900. 😂💯👍
@@IJustGotHere Maybe the earlier production runs of this EDF didn’t have this, but the one I got last week had “3s only!” stickers inside the battery tray, in a supplement, and in the manual. I think the fan blades might fatigue and snap off when it spins that fast. Don’t ask me how I know but now I’m waiting for a new EDF unit. The rotor was on backorder but the whole housing was only $9.99 and in stock Motor is fine.
@@IJustGotHere Another observation: The Habu SS 50mm is way lighter than other 50mm EDFs so I convinced myself the hard way that a 3 s is quite sufficient. I was just so used to putting a 4s in all of my 50mm and 64mm EDFs when they recommended 3s but I had to try it in the Habu 50mm… 😂
@@IJustGotHere I have quite a few 3S batteries that should work with it. No shipping update yet, but I seem to recall that Horizon is doing some computer systems upgrades, and they warned that such updates might be delayed.
This 50mm was originally designed for the 3s 1300 packs. Biggest to use are 3s 2200, but 2200 adds more nose weight=longer drawn out landings, more up elevator 🤷
Its definitely capable of doing reverse thrust. Brian Phillips RC used a Spektrum smart esc programmer & found what channel its setup on & went from there. In his case it was on Channel 7. You got to get one Gary Z. Its an awesome jet. Still waiting on mine 😊
Really interested in this for my second airplane, I have a carbon cub s2 and WAY too many 3s batteries for it, the RC Saylors flew on a 2200 3s and far as I know its the only edf on the market that flys on these
@@IJustGotHere probably, it's going to be almost an year since they announced it. Here in Europe it's even worse, didn't even get my UMX Timber X preorder yet.

Fun Maiden Flight GG!! Stuck the landing like a boss!!
Thanks Dave! I can tell I'm going to like it for sure. 😀🛩👍
Good to see the 1st video out on this now that they're shipping. Looking forward to mine. Thanks for sharing!
Nice flight and plant Gazza!
Thanks Anthony! This is a sweet little EDF. I just threw it in the back seat if the truck. 😀🛩💯
You're an awesome flier. Pops keep up the good work.
Really cool plane Gary!
Thanks Tanner! I can't wait to fly it again. 😀
Nice landing.
Thanks Tim! Ended up pretty smooth. 😀🛩👍
Good job Grandpa Gary
Thanks David! Such a great little EDF. 😀👍
Gary: need more GRASS!
My 50mil arrives today.
Dont forget to setup reverse thrust! 😁
I don't think it really needs reverse thrust. The roll out was pretty short.

great maiden!!!
Thanks! Once I trim it up and add expo, it is going to be so good. 😀🛩💯
Great maiden!
Thanks Rob! Can't wait to just really get this screaming around. 😀🛩💯
Ordered mine this week. Looking forward to trying it out!
No 4s batteries. I tried, the motor does work right. Great on the 3s though.

What an amazing jet. Mine should be here soon. Excellent maiden flight Gary!! ✈
Thanks Alan! 😀🛩💯
Nice one!
Thanks! Can't wait to make the adjustments and fly it again. 😀🛩💯
Great job on this maiden Gary . it looks fantastic .
Thanks Philip! It is pretty nice. 😀🛩💯
Nice plane Gary. I reckon you aren't used to landing with no wind!
Ha! Here lately it doesn't seem like it. There has been a few days in the past. 😆 🤣

I will probably try it too.
Gary i just got my Habu need to check your elevator servo had to reglue the servo the servo look like is over work.
Thanks! I will take a look tonight. 😀🛩👍
Really liking this plane. Nice flight, grandpa Gary. Ever setup reverse thrust? I think this jet is capable of it.
I'll have to check that out. Although, the roll out wasn't an issue it was strictly touch down point. 😀🛩💯

@@rileysvideos2059 It's a good step up from the cub especially from batteries being cross compatible
They say you can take the wheels off and hand launch it and land on grass. Can you see it that will work and show a video of it. Thanks
It actually comes with the wheels off. 😀🛩👍
I think after the third pass I would have just set it down in the high grass, No EDFS in my future, they're just too scary for me.
😀🛩💯
Nice flight do you think this would be a good first EDF
Thanks! It would probably work but there is definitely better options. 😀🛩👍
Great little jet! Does it feel faster than the UMX A-10? Love that one, just wish it had a bit more speed.
I didn't do any full speed passes but I feel safe in saying yes. It is going to be much faster. I literally just flew the A10 yesterday. 😀🛩👍
@@IJustGotHere thanks Gary, I also just flew the A-10 a few hours ago. I think this will be my next edf, just waiting to see reviews on the new F-14.
I could be wrong but the F14 appeared to be pushed out to November.
@@IJustGotHere probably, it's going to be almost an year since they announced it. Here in Europe it's even worse, didn't even get my UMX Timber X preorder yet.
Hey, you don't need a haircut!
That pass was so close! I lost view of the plane for a split second. 😅🛩💯
Why are you flying over peoples’ cars?
I was flying in front of or behind them but if I did pass over them it was not in purpose. I do apologize.
