- Ride The Raptor at Cedar Point. Official 2014 HD Front Row POV of Raptor Roller Coaster in Sandusky Ohio 2014.
Raptor is a steel inverted roller coaster designed by Bolliger & Mabillard at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, United States. When built in 1994, it broke many records and held many firsts when it opened. Instead of having a short layout designed to fit into a compact area like Batman: The Ride, Raptor was designed with a larger, 3,790-foot (1,160 m) layout making it the tallest, fastest and longest inverted roller coaster in the world when it opened. It features a total of six inversions, including a cobra roll, a first for inverted roller coasters. At its opening, it was the largest investment in Cedar Point history. The ride is themed as a bird of prey.
Raptor has a clone, The Monster, at Walygator Parc in France. It was previously known as Orochi at Expoland in Japan.
Thanks for watching. This is a POV of Raptor in Sandusky Ohio with some off-ride.
Dude I love your channel. keep up the good coasters views. I know there is only so many in the world. you gotta travel and try out other coasters from around globe.
YOU ARE FEARLESS!
Jonathan Koenig try riding it it's really fun
:D
Booo
As someone who hates big drops, but loves going fast and upside down, this was the perfect ride!!! Even at a busy day, the wait was very short and my friends and I rode it 4 times with only about a 15 minute wait. Definitely one of my favorite rides at the park!
I remember this, what a rush! I love inverted coasters!!!
Raptor. Definateley one of the LOUDEST coasters on the planet
+DAcubsfan2 El Toro though...
+crisisReaper666 Ghostrider at Knotts
DAnders0n12 Steel Vengeance’s anti rollback.
hulk coaster universal fl is the loudest I've heard
DAnders0n12 Apparently, the tube like beams that hold hanging coasters (aka inverted) up are usually filled with sand to dampen sound. This Raptor sounds just like Hershey's Great Bear, which had the sand deliberately omitted to "give the Bear its signature roar". While walking around the park among those beams, which are often placed right next to walkways, I'd put my hand on one every time I saw the Bear coming. It was really cool to feel as well as hear that vibration.
It's been 12 years since my first ride on this thing and it still holds up; currently my second favorite in the park (behind Millennium Force).
so im at cedar point right now. i guess im about to get on this ride with friends. wish me luck
Ahh.. My first B&M.. God I was so scared going up the lift, but when pulling into the first drop, I was crying of joy and excitement. It was the best feeling EVER.
Flight deck is better
Adrian Gonzalez Was I comparing B&M's?? No. Stfu.
I just said flight deck was better, its my opinion. So why do you care? No one cares about me.
+Adrian Gonzalez yeah no
20 years old and runs like a champ, such a fun and well-paced ride - a lot nicer views from the lift since Gatekeeper also!
Really fun coaster!
Love that B&M roar!!!!!! hope i can visit cedar point some day
People who think this ripped off Banshee. The Raptor opened at Cedar Point in 1994. It was the first B&M Invert to be at a Cedar Fair park, and is one out of 31 B&M inverts today. It was the tallest/fastest/steepest/longest invert in the world for two years, until Montu opened at Busch Gardens. It was the first inverted coaster to feature any 2-in-1 inversion: a cobra roll. It is currently one of CP's top 5 most ridden, and is ranked by many to be one of the best inverts of all-time.
So yeah, this TOTALLY ripped off Banshee.
+crisisReaper666 Their still not as dumb as the idiots who say it's Cedar Point's fault for the recent death of that man. You know, the one who willingly jumped over the fence with the "NO ENTRY" signs on them to retrieve his personal belonging. That man. It's totally Cedar Point's fault.
Same thing happened at Six Flags Great Adventure a few years back with the Batman.
crisisReaper666 Yes I know that was Batman at Six Flags over Georga in 2008. It was a very similar incident, and the people who blamed six flags for that were equally as stupid.
raptor is its own layout just like batman so it didn't steal anything if that's what u meant by ripped off
Going to cedar point in tomorrow. Cant wait to ride this for the first time!
Love this ride! Your feet are hanging and you are going fast!
this ride is my favorite
This Roller Coaster is as fast as Koopa Troopa on Mario Tennis Aces!
it sounds like a raptor too
When I went here last month one of Raptor's trains stopped on the mid course brake run and they had to evacuate the riders from there. My friend and I watched it all from Gatekeeper's line
I went here last month too. And almost every ride was closed
PodatoChip It depends on the weather. If it's too windy they'll close a lot of the bigger rides.
you cant even see it from the gatekeeper line lmao.
that was the 1st co-star I been on and I was done
I'm happy with watching
the Ride is very fast
Just realized that Dragon Challenge at Harry Potter World in Universal uses the same track design.
+LadyRhin Because they're both B&M's :/
reminds me of flight deck/top gun at Great America in California
the raptor is so fun
Uploaded on my birthday
reminds me of silver bullet at Knotts
It's the same type (B&M Invert), just a different track layout. Silver Bullet is a bit tamer than this.
It's bigger than Silver Bullet.
jazz995 Silver Bullet is taller.
Luis Mercado Yup.It is taller
Reminds me of Alpengeist at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, my favorite roller coaster of all time!
Is It Scary Because Last Time I Went I Was Scared To Ride It.
There ain't many B&Ms whose roar isn't as immensely loud as Raptor's :)
Nemesis montu.
You should listen to Rougarou. It has perhaps the loudest B&M roar I have ever heard. Of course, the only loud part of the ride is from the initial drop to the dive loop.
It basically a reverse silver bullet
I been there
You are good
Lol i went on this and i about wet myself
I kept my eyes closed to and it didnt help 😂😂
Batman or Raptor folks?
Raptor
Raptor is far better than BTR.
KaiTheNinja naw Batman was the origi- oh wait well the one at sffam is
Lol at all the seagull crap. xD
They get to da top of the lift at 1:01
I am 10 and I still wanna go on the raptor, but I am too scared
This coaster scared the crap out of me when I rode it. my mom and I got on it and we are both like 210 pounds and the harness didn't fit like it should've and the thing only clicked one time whole everyone else's clicked like 4 times and we said we wanted up bc we felt unsafe and they wouldn't like us off bc everything was already read to go so we had to ride it and everytime we went upside down my body would on that harness and we both thought we were going to fall out. The ride would've been fun if I felt safe.
Like siler bullet
Took a sec to realize those "bird poop" spatters were intentional!
Where Is This Roller Coaster At ? :)
Cedar point
Its like silver bulitt
pretty much black mamba of phantasialand ^_^
The black mamba is good to.
This was made about 10 years earlier, but other than that, I can see where you come from. Same order of elements, but slight variations in turns.
Go to St. Louis six flags !!!
I want to dk this right now!!
oh no ma’am
how does this guy never lose his camera? if it's a go pro then still how...
I only trust this roller coaster an iron dragon at Cedar Point bc the seats are under the tracks. I'm weird.
my first coaster \(^.^/)
Banshee doesn't have a cobra roll.
What's up with cedar point accidents!!?? Who are taking care of these rides!? Cable snaps on Skyhawk, last season, the train 4 shoot the rapids fell backwards! And when gatekeeper opened, it got stuck upside down!!!!
The gatekeeper one is not an accident. It may have been due to wind or cold weather or just really tight wheels. xD
i feel like six flags has more accidents
Cedar Point actually has a very good safety record.
Are you sure that gatekeeper got stuck upside down?
Anybody know you bang your head a lot on this one?
Not at all. The Rougarou is the one that bangs your head. :)
+David Chacon the rougarou is just the mantis with a different paint job and new cars, I was kinda sad to find that out...
Bluestreak and Corksrew
It didn't for me
At the end it did
Ok, think I'm going to barf!
This is the same as alpengeist at Busch gardens Williamsburg
Same type of coaster? Yes. Same coaster? No, not at all.
GravityJMB No, at the Busch Gardens in Florida, There is a ride JUST like this called Montu.
Yes, I've ridden Montu several times. I've also ridden Raptor more times than I can count. They're the same type of coaster (inverted) from the same manufacturer (B&M) ... but they have very different layouts. They're not the same coaster.
sandusky, lulz
I just watched an accident for Raptor..
lmao that was no accident. It was his own fault for climbing over the fence. What a dumbass.
Just a pardoy of Banshee in Mason Ohio
You mean the other way around, considering Raptor is 20 years older than Banshee lol
lol idc (i dont care)
RAPTOR HURTS MY HEAD SO FREAKIN' MUCH! To me, it's the #1 worst coaster at Cedar Point behind Mantis and Corkscrew!
So... #3?
#3 is Corkscrew.
You said it's #1 behind 2 other coasters, so that would make it #3.
Puting
***** The best is Millennium Force.
2nd
OMG BANSHEE COPIED THIS
Well Banshee is a B&M invert just like Raptor so...
Wow...Banshee is a B&M invert just like raptor. Banshee’s layout is very different. Banshee starts with a dive loop followed by a vertical loop into a zero g roll and various other elements that cannot be found on Raptor. Raptor isn’t nearly as tall and starts with a vertical loop followed by a zero g roll, going straight into a cobra roll after. It has a completely different layout despite being the same type of roller coaster. Even if I wasn’t a coaster enthusiast I would have been able to spot numerous differences.
they should be ashamed of going so long without a new paint job damn lmfao looks horrid
it just got a paint job
Where Is This Roller Coaster At ? :)
its in the description.
I Kno That I Just Wanted To Comment On The Video
oh....
It's at Cedar Point in Ohio
