It seems like failing a 20 or 30min speedrun sucks, but is not the end of the world. Failing a speedrun when you're over an hour in probably feels like a major gut punch. I can't even imagine what it felt like messing up at the 6 hour mark...
I used to win guitar hero competitions all the time. I was definitely a high tier player for sure. And I did it front of audiences regularly. One time we had a competition at a concert at the sleep train amp and there was THIUSANDS of people there and so much pressure I totally blew it and failed a song I had never failed before. Choking is real.
Jesus the dude playing Zelda needs to calm down. His reaction just when he entered the final boss's room was like, more intense than most people once done with a record... if he was't so quick to enjoy his not-yet victory, he would've crushed it. Remaining calm is the key.
Considering he was on track to beat the WR by over an HOUR and just landed the 777 Lucky Jackpot of WW tech, I really can't blame him for going fucking ballistic.
The andrew g clip shouldn't surprise anyone. That is what happens when you spend years of your life practicing the first couple levels and resetting after the smallest mistakes.
Tompa A That's probably a pretty smart conclusion to come to if you've never watched AndrewG in your life. But watch his streams, it's the exact same deal there.
I've watched LOADS of his runs for hte past years, both on stream as well as live on location. Which is one of the reasons I make this conclusion =). Everyone can just have a bad day as well, and there was a lot more pressure on him than he ussually has.
Lol. If you watched his streams you would not have said this: _And when you play on a different console and controller which you are not used to, as well as playing on a flat screen TV..._ but rather this: _Yes, you are right._
Yes, it's true, for most runners, that they obviously get more practice in for earlier stages. But that doesn't change that the factors I mentioned had a much greater impact on his result for that run than anything else. Which is a lot more clearer if you actually watch the run he did instead of just what this clip is showing.

Wait he died?
@@jasminejohnston6393 He killed himself, yeah
Where’d you find this out?
@@jasminejohnston6393 he made a video before he killed himself
It’s not on his channel but search it up
You could just put any of Clint Stevens streams and it would be the whole list
I used to win guitar hero competitions all the time. I was definitely a high tier player for sure. And I did it front of audiences regularly. One time we had a competition at a concert at the sleep train amp and there was THIUSANDS of people there and so much pressure I totally blew it and failed a song I had never failed before. Choking is real.
I like that you explain what is supposed to happen, as most videos about speedrunning I saw didn't and were making me wonder what actually went wrong.

RIP man.

7:28 - one of the most hillarious and still heartbreaking moments I've seen in a good, long while.
Rest In Peace, man.
If you watched his stream you'd get it 3% chance after over 1 hours is brutal
you clearly don't understand at all what was going on
Doesn't matter how lucky or great it was, if you don't keep it together it's meaningless. Even noobs know that. Never celebrate early.
At least he isn't a monotone zombie like 99% of other speed runners
The andrew g clip shouldn't surprise anyone. That is what happens when you spend years of your life practicing the first couple levels and resetting after the smallest mistakes.
And when you play on a different console and controller which you are not used to, as well as playing on a flat screen TV...
Lol. If you watched his streams you would not have said this:
_And when you play on a different console and controller which you are not used to, as well as playing on a flat screen TV..._
but rather this:
_Yes, you are right._
Yes, it's true, for most runners, that they obviously get more practice in for earlier stages. But that doesn't change that the factors I mentioned had a much greater impact on his result for that run than anything else. Which is a lot more clearer if you actually watch the run he did instead of just what this clip is showing.
One dude who couldn’t hit his shots started pissing me off
its rng you have to shoot where you think the boss is going not where he is
The first one is hilarious. Squealing "are you kidding me dude?" before showing the world what it looks like when you try to cover up balling uncontrollably with a smile because you're on camera.
4:17 straight for the retry, thats determination
