Hi Meg. Thanks for the sharing. I really learn classDojo from your tutorial while you make a lot of screenshots and guide me steps by steps with a moderate speed in narration.
Yes!!! I love Class Dojo and their new Toolkit. I use the timer and random picker often. I was thinking of doing a tutorial on it too since I just recently started my own teacher RUclips but I’m so glad you did this one. Hope you have a great weekend Meg and I haven’t forgotten your advice about networking. I’m definitely going to find you next summer at the TpT conference cause I’m going too. Take care!
I use Class Dojo and love it. I use it mainly for student points and a way to communicate with parents, but I am slowly starting to incorporate the mindset videos and some of the tools into my daily teaching. I haven't tried all the options in the toolkit yet, so thanks for the quick explanation.
Thank you very much!Very informative and helpful. My question, if i share my class with another teacher, can she use my materials as one or the class is just mine and she has her own class through a shared class? Thanks.
I loved your video and energy. I have used Class Dojo some years ago in third grade. This year will be my first time using it in first grade. I'd love to know how you use it with dojo bucks, etc.
Hello, We hope that everyone is keeping during the corona-19 pandemic. Our district is wanting to roll out Class Dojo. I've watched your tutorial video and see very clearly how wonderful it s for in class instruction but is Class Dojo a good tool to use for remote learning?
Great tutorial! This will be my first time using Class Dojo this year (if we get to go back to school this year!) but I am one of the specialty teachers. I am an inner city elementary STEAM teacher and I get to see everyone in the school every week. That equates to approximately 550 students. I want to use the story share part of Class Dojo the most. I also want all of the parents to have access to my pages, so I can keep them updated on what is going on in class each week, for each grade level. I am not really thinking about using the reward points at this time, simply because --- wait for it --- I don't have to deal with behavior issues, because if the students do not work as expected they are separated from the project. What I was thinking is that I would input each classroom teacher and the grade level, but not include each student's name in that class. Will all the parents be able to access this resource without me using a roll for each class? Help! I want to make this work!
Hey Meg! Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I am a middle school teacher (7th & 8th grades) and I need to teach from home for the rest of the year. Is there a way to "talk" to all of my students at the same time? And can they "talk back" and give answers? I was able to load my classes (2 8th grade classes grouped together and 3 7th grade classes grouped together), but the first people replying to me were parents... How do I speak to my kiddos? Thank you!
Hi Meg. I love Class Dojo. I'm a substitute teacher, long term for a first grade class. I'd like to know if the demo class is necessary? Is the demo class just for communicating with the parents, or is it just repeating everything that I've created in the My Classroom dojo? That is the only thing that I'm confused about. Or can I just use one or the other. Great video! The information that you give is so helpful! ! Thank you so much for sharing. Take care!
Hi Meg - I've used Class Dojo just a little bit over the past 5 years but never was consistent. I teach kindergarten & I love the idea of using emojis to help them follow directions with visuals. I don't know how to add them to the directions - I don't see the detailed instructions to do that. Could you let me know how I can make direction pages like you did? Thanks! Great video by the way :0) (see I don't even know how to add emojis here!!)
What do the students do with the points? How do you keep track of the points? Do you start over each day or accumulate points? I think my 1st graders would love this but I don’t know how to track points.
Great question! Right now my students are adding their points together at the end of each day on a calendar. Their point total will help them earn flexible seating! (there is a pic of the calendar on my instagram) :)
I have been using tickets with my class. They get a ticket for staying on task, following directions , etc. But I’m thinking they will really like Class Dojo. I’ve thought about doing Class Dojo for a while but I didn’t know how to track points. I’m thinking about trying the calendar with points. I’ll Have my kids track their points daily, then they can use the points every Friday. I already have a reward system for their tickets. Stickers, piece of candy, pencil and eraser, etc. Things I can get from target dollar spot or the dollar store Also prizes I don’t have to buy like stinky feet (take their shoes off in class), no homework pass, sit by a friend for the day. I will think about it more and come up with a plan to maybe start the points after Christmas break.
Hi Meg, a question for you. If my child's teacher posts an assignment in the class story to do a read-aloud, can my child do a video recording on my phone, under my parent account, and respond to the teacher's post? TIA.
I had trouble figuring out how to have my photos display correctly. When I would post, the image shown would zoom in to part of the image or photo (sometimes showing nothing relevant to the posting. Anyhow, what I figured out was that each image or photo that is uploaded is reset as a square, so the photo would be zoomed or adjusted to fit a square format and that is what will be shown as the primary image. (no matter what, if you click on the image the whole image is shown). So if you take a screen shot or select a photo to upload to your class story if you make sure it a square, the whole image will be shown properly in the class story (without having to click on the image). Hope this helps someone.
I love that you are so enthusiastic...Love your workshop...Thank you!!!

Haha love the group picker 😂 I might switch over to this next year but I could see myself forgetting to add points all the time 😕
I noticed the mobile app and web app is different. I cannot create activities on my mobile app. How can i doi that through mobile?

When I add a coteacher why can't she see the parent comments? Is there a way to fix that

Why I am missing the students accounts option in my tools bar at bottom of the page? Instead I have invite parents option
I wish you showed us how to actually put the directions on. Like you said 1. Name ✍️. How do you do that on the directions site?

Not sure how to add emojis to directions????
Also, when a student sends me their portfolio, is there a way I can post it for all to see when I choose?
What is the best and fastest way to have parents join your class dojo during COVID 19?
