Great to see you back out with the Q2M! I really like #2 of the dancers, especially as your use of the portrait format is unusual with the 28mm. Also love the reflection of the women sitting by the water @3:19
Wow! You made a Leonardo Hotel Berlin picture (there I stayed few years ago) in previous video and you are walking near my home in Moscow now. Nice pictures!
This is a great channel ! I discovered it a few days ago and since then I have been watching all the past episodes. There are so many tips I have learned from you. Thanks !
So nice to see you shooting street here in Russia! I shot street on film, too, and came to Moscow in June for new scenes and inspiration. Big cities give you much more opportunities
I shoot street in Moscow and generally have no problems. Sometimes I get curious looks and younger people will pose if they see me ) Cool to see you hanging around Chistiye Prudiy metro - that’s one of my regular locations!
I have this camera, there were times when I thought I wish I had the colour q2 but then realised I have something a bit more unique. Regards to better battery life, lcd screen or evf?
It’s a Russian behavior pretending to ignore a foreigner, which appears actually sometimes as quite impolite. But I can imagine that youngsters even appreciate when being photographed (you always see girls and woman posing for photos), while from more seniors you can get angry looks. Same when you are not in the center center of the city.
The question is if you could even tell that I am a foreigner. It's true what you said about younger people, especially girls seem to like it when you take their photo without asking.
Nice shots. The real sir of street photography. I like your shots with the Leica M6 on film better. The Leica Q2 ist too clean, seems over sharpened, too contrasty and the grain is missing. What are your thoughts comparing the two Leicas?
I love shooting film in my M6 but I also enjoy shooting the Q/Q2M. Those makes things a lot easier. The contrast is not out of camera and you could get the look very close to film.
Love to go to Russia. It's one of my bucket-list destination. People in your video seem pretty cool about having their pictures taken. Thanks for the clip.
So now that you have and love the Q2M but were also a M10M (or type 246 model, I can't remember exactly) owner, what is your take about having one or the other?
I saw you’re using Orange Filter lens which is also my favorite Filter lens. Perhaps you can try the Blue Filter lens which IMO yields good skin textures and tonality. For the train station where the morning sunlight shines in, the Orange Filter lens somehow neutralizes the warm tone and makes the whole image way too contrast, let alone showing shadow details. Not sure if a Blue Filter lens can make a better image result. Just a little suggestion. Cheers!
For the people, i prefer Mexican with their daily life on your shots before. For Russian, they look so beauty but cold in the same time, but while that, they look free human in other side and do whatever something which they like. That's so interesting to street photography (I think..)in the huge cold city like Moscow. And as usual, you still did awesome shots, good job sir!👍🏼
I been using the orange filter for a while and I haven't touched the red or yellow one since getting the orange...I think it's a great all around filter to use...
interesting video - I shoot in Moscow as well - street photo - with Q2M :) Overall it seems that street photo is not as developed here, due to the some degree of negativity, I even got stopped and harassed by the police in the subway last weekend for taking a photo of them. 28mm - you have to get close :) - keep up with the videos!! all the best!!
Moscow seems to be very easy. Thanks for your opinion on street shooting in Moscow, also compared to Mexico, both were very interesting. Great shots as usual. Hope there will be some comments by people who did street shooting in Moscow, probably need to come back over the week ;-). Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you! Everything I said in the video is also true for St. Petersburg. I prefer St. P. over Moscow and shooting here even with a flash at night isn't a problem.
Go all monochrom or go home lol....I honestly I don't think the images would have been better in color...I love silhouettes and in that case it came out perfectly....👌
Russians might not care about street photographers because they assume they are always being watched by the FSB? 😅 Seriously, Moscow provided some epic backdrops for the people in your photos. I have been to St. Pete but would love to see the capital.
I love that city. I can’t speak or read a word of the language and I believe that keeps me from getting mired in the nonsense that is every city and every nation.
I am ın Moscow and taking Street Portraits / Photography. I can only shoot at night. if you are in Moscow maybe we will meet somewhere near the center and take some
Moscow is not Russia. People where get used to be in crowds and much tolerant to strangers, with cameras included. Never been in Mexico, but comparing to Toronto, Montreal, even Manhattan, street photography in Moscow was easier to me. You just have to learn to show respect.
„Nobody really cares“ is really cool. Because I think you know in Germany, if you approach someone to the distance for 28mm and ready to shoot, you‘ll definitely get a „was machst du?““das darfst du nicht“ bla bla bla shit
I love your style of photography, so many great shots in this video 👏
Fantastic shot u got there @13:44 also like the contrast between love and alone in @13:57
And the last is from the metro entrance @ 13:14
Good point about the contrast 👍
Great to see you back out with the Q2M! I really like #2 of the dancers, especially as your use of the portrait format is unusual with the 28mm. Also love the reflection of the women sitting by the water @3:19
Thank you Stuart! Another Q2M video will follow today. 👌
@@therealsirrobin Always a delight to see your videos on a Sunday morning. The latest is a real treat

Thank you, glad my content is helping you in your photographic journey. 😊
Great pictures! I love it!
Great episode! Moscow seems to be an awesome place for street photography. Hope you will do another video in this city. Auf Wiedersehen!
I always look forward to your videos!
So nice to see you shooting street here in Russia!
I shot street on film, too, and came to Moscow in June for new scenes and inspiration. Big cities give you much more opportunities
That excitement at the beginning about the silhouette, that could have been me :-)
I've been enjoying your forays in Moscow. I don't have your talent, but you are selling me on the Q2M. Looking forward to "dry" copies of your zine...

street photography with my favorite camera, what can go wrong? I love the orange filter, I use it all the time with this camera. Thank you very much!
Thank you Harald, there will be another Q2M video coming today. 👍
@@therealsirrobin I´m looking forward to it ;-)
good video, the second photo of the dancer is top
Great photos indeed, thumbs up from Sweden,
I have this camera, there were times when I thought I wish I had the colour q2 but then realised I have something a bit more unique. Regards to better battery life, lcd screen or evf?
Lovely photos.
Have you ever used something like the tiffen black pro mist filter on the Q2M?
No, never used one.
I always watch your video to give me the motivation to shoot better than what I did the last time.
crazy photos! i would have stayed too.
I love the colors of your video. It has film look colors!
I have been doing street photography in Moscow for about 5 months (and I am local), no problems whatsoever.
thanks for the comment
You have Instagram?
@@MrWiseinheart i do, but i don't post anything there really
It's pretty muh the same in St. Petersburg. Even when shooting flash at night nobody seem to really care.
Was in Moscow February of 2020, was great to shoot in the cold season with an old Zenit camera. Only down was the effort to get a visa.
Yeah, the visa process can get a little annoying and also costly.
Nice video! Thanks! Why is this camera so expensive ?
Well, there is no alternative out there but with a good full frame mirrorless camera and a nice 28mm lens you would pay similar money.
It’s a Russian behavior pretending to ignore a foreigner, which appears actually sometimes as quite impolite. do you color grade your action cam footage?, I also use the DJI action but it sometimes blow up the highlights on auto, yours looks very nice always.
Yes, I use a lut.

Moscow looks like such a beautiful, cool city.
Amazing content.
It's so CLEAN!
You mention using autofocus because it's faster but what focus mode did you use? AFc and Field?
AF-S single field
Love to go to Russia. It's one of my bucket-list destination.
People in your video seem pretty cool about having their pictures taken. Thanks for the clip.
You should go, it's amazing!
So now that you have and love the Q2M but were also a M10M (or type 246 model, I can't remember exactly) owner, what is your take about having one or the other?
As a fan of 28mm I much rather shoot a Q over any M.
I saw you’re using Orange Filter lens which is also my favorite Filter lens. Perhaps you can try the Blue Filter lens which IMO yields good skin textures and tonality.

Martin, the RAW files have way less contrast and plenty of detail in the shadows. It's simply the look I was going for.
I am a russian speaking korean and I am traveling in Russia for like a month. Love the country! Would love to meet you if possible🙏🏼

How did you manage to get a visa?
Does the camera operate differently in Paris or New York
Pretty sure it operates the same 😆
Only on the Southern Hemisphere cause then it is held upside down !
Moscow seems to be very easy.

I'm a local, from Moscow. I do street photography. with and without flash. 1 in 20 people react. incidents are rare.
Thank you! Everything I said in the video is also true for St. Petersburg. I prefer St. P. over Moscow and shooting here even with a flash at night isn't a problem.

I live in Russia. And in my experience, people are more often negative. Young people are more friendly. Adults can be quite aggressive.
I am shooting every day in Yekaterinburg, and people ask to delete and said something just 10-20 times in 2 years and 50000 pictures
Nobody really cares
I love that city. I can’t speak or read a word of the language and I believe that keeps me from getting mired in the nonsense that is every city and every nation.

Every place is different that's for sure.
Love to travel to Russia again. Just not now.
Moscow screams shoot me with color
As a B/W shooter (with Q) there is always one or two shots that need color to express the power of a shot.
I don't speak russian and couldn't hear Moscow screaming. 😁
I thought the police car was gonna run over the dude in the electric scooter!
„Nobody really cares“ is really cool. Because I think you know in Germany, if you approach someone to the distance for 28mm and ready to shoot, you‘ll definitely get a „was machst du?““das darfst du nicht“ bla bla bla shit
You can still do it even in Germany. 👌
Ask Aleksey Myakishev
Be honest, Shooting alone is better! lol.
Yes, less distractions. 👌
