Nice. The pilots may be the ones who get all the credit for their flying skills but the ground crews are the ones who keep these birds alive and they have done a beautiful job on them. Good to see 315 once again.
The skill and craftmanship of the ground crews is written large on these majestic aircraft. Their love and dedication, their pride and patience has kept the aircraft and aircrew safe all these decades. The aircraft are a credit to the airforce and the country, they have repaid that huge investment over and over and served their duty.
Piękny samolot w cudownym malowaniu. Mam kilka model Phantom F-4EJ KAJ i każdy w cudownym malowaniu Japońskich Sił Samobony. Wszystkie Twoje filmy to wielka dokumentacja dla modelarzy.
Think about how many cars there are on the road that are as old as these Phantoms. Their mere existence is testament to great engineering and dedicated maintenance. I really like the paint scheme on 436: that is a handsome aircraft. Thanks again 1-300.
Another great video from our talented friend. Thank you for your great work. You are making many people happy every time. Usually a pilot gets wet by the grond crew when finishing his first solo, and this poor guy, not only that he will not be flying Phantoms any more, also got cold shower in the winter...I lovevd the little black paintings on the left air inlet. Probably the sqd' he served in, or maybe just all the Phantom sqd' in the JASDF.
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.” ― Leonardo da Vinci
The first flight of four with the rain billowing off the runway on takeoff, reminded me of the early Top Fuels of NHRA, smoking the tires all the way down the track. 436 looks cool with "THE SPOOK" on the vert. stab. keeping a eye on things. What no pool toss for his last flight?!
I am so happy to see all of your great videos of the JASDF 301 sq F-4 Phantoms, they are all beautiful jets! Are you a member of the 302sq?I have a remote control F-4 Phantom ll and I m going to change the markings on it from the US Navy to the JASDF 301sq! Thank you!
If you let your imagination flow, this could easily be Ubon, Tahkli, Bien Hoa, or Da Nang all those decades ago. The Chinook coming in for touchdown lends credence to the scene. How many thousands of times did sections and flights of Phantoms launch into the sky during the rainy season? I can see Marine and Air Force jets taking off, fully laden with bombs, missiles, and fuel, for a mission "Up North." Yes, the pilot in the closing scene did indeed fly his last mission. As tradition dictates, he is showered in champagne for his sendoff. It will be bittersweet for him as he transitions into the next phase of his life. It was that way with me when I left behind my beloved F-14's. I wish him, and all of them, well as each one will one day face their own sendoffs, either by champagne, or a simple set of orders from HQ. Arigato 1-300. It was beautiful to watch.
My brother is a Jet Pilot for the Brazillian Air Force, when a pilot go in their first solo flight or their last, there was a tradition ( I forgot wich country) that the pilots go and take a dip into the "lake". So, with that in mind they "baptize" their pilots who got to that mark in their careers. Sorry for my english, and if I'm wrong about something, just let me know. I can consult with my brother about this.
The F-4 out-fought everything from that time period. Computer simulations have shown that the big engines of the Phantom gave it an advantage since it could control the pace of the fight, leaving and re-entering battle as desired. I have several F-4 books and each tells pretty good stories. My favorite ones are those with the best photography. Aviation books have provided me a much-needed escape from real life. When life was difficult I'd set up my easy chair with coffee, a desk lamp and a stack of books beside me. They kept me going during the hardest times and are the best investments I ever made. For my fellow bookies these are my 3 favorite books: - F-4 Phantom by Robert Prest - Phantom Boys by Richard Pike - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
Man these are some of the best videos of F4's ive ever seen. I love the F4, it would be awesome to see if they put like the F35's flight control computer inside one just to see if they could get any better maneuverability out of them.. Really reach out to see what more they could get out of this air frame. Alot of documentaries about the F4 say it was poorly designed, for instance the wings, they had to put that slight bend in them to help with its handling. And that extra slat type thing on the leading edges of the horizontal stabs. Regardless thou, would a fly by wire and a top of the line flight computer get this beauty up to a F15 capabilities or better? Is she hiding a secret? Chuckle, or is she just too heavy??
Loading it up with Aim-120Cs would make it pretty deadly. But it simply doesn't have any stealth whatsoever. If JSDAF is to help counter the PLAAF in the Pacific, they need stealth now. Money spent upgrading and maintaining them would be better spent on F-35s. At some point, maintaining old aircraft is more expensive than buying new ones. That's why the Tomcat is gone.
@@RsRj-qd2cg Yeah I realize all that. My comment was purely hypothetical and a curiosity if upgrades like the ones I mentioned would bring out a hidden monster. That's all.
So being a bit controversial here sorry. What is being done to ensure these magnificent aircraft are preserved once they finally lose their wings? They are in fantastic condition and in all fairness there's not many Phantoms left around the world now from McDonnell so can someone (with a lot more knowledge and money than me) start looking into this. Sorry.... its an amazing video as always!
Beautiful legendary fighter and I want it to remain operational for many more decades instead of wasting more money on that useless f35 that is too obsolete and expensive, and the same is true for Greece.

You produce some of the most stunning aviation footage I’ve ever seen. Just beautiful.
The all weather F4 Phantom will fly and fight in any weather, no excuses. Looking at this weather makes me feel glad to be indoors. Nice video 1-300!
Brings back memories of my time in the 6585th Test Group at Eglin AFB. We had the models of the F-4.
Even after retirement, these birds refuse to sit still. o7 301st!
The JAF have taken flying the F4 to a art form, just beautiful.
You served us well and we whom have touched you say-
‘Tis time to be the true ‘Phantom’ of our consciousness............

Its crazy how legendary the F4 phantom is. they were produced during the cold war and still being used today which is insane
Beautiful video, the first time I saw the US Thunderbirds, they were flying F-4s.
Simply beautiful, thank you!

Awesome quote. Already knew but always a pleasure to reread.
Fuck, so true !!!
Outstanding, you continue to understand and share the contrast of grass, trees, rain clouds and these beautiful old warhorses.
Beautiful rainy day with awesome flying machines as always 1-300 !
I love the F-4 Phantom my uncle flew one in Vietnam.
The F-4 Phantom is a beautiful aircraft, I want it to remain operational for many more decades, and never need to be replaced unnecessarily.

F4 Phantom and japanese text, aah memories of Ace Combat 5
Awesome !
Dear JASDF. I know that you are going to be changing out aircraft soon. Can I have a Phantom? I promise to take good care of it.
Aviation artistry.
AMAZING! I wish I could "like" this vid 100 times.
Cool.
F-4 ilove u
F-4 is proven combat, F22 and F35 is not proven yet, with today missile and radar technologies f4 is still a killer beast
sorry for asking.. I'm wondering if the jsdf is still using the phantoms in 2020?
Now they are still flying.
But next year they will not fly by this time.
@@1-300 great hearing that!! these f-4s look well maintained!

why fly those antiques in this day and age????
Because sometimes, the mission doesn’t require the latest electronic wizardry. Only the ability to put pointy warheads on foreheads.
