Thank you!!! I was on the Eisenhower from 88-90. Watched the last carrier qual of the last marine squadron operating the F-4. Ive set in the F-4 and dreamt of flying the aircraft most of my life. If I’m ever wealthy, I’m going to pay to fly in the Colin’s foundation F-4 if that is still an option. I’ve flown commercial, about 10,000 hours and then had to retire early due to medical reasons. I still stop and view static f-4’s any time I run accross them. I don’t know why... but something about the f-4 screams warrior and a mean kind of beauty.
Your right they are majestic beauty.. A work of art...anytime I go to an air museum ..I pretty much ignore the other aircraft and bee line straight to the F-4 Phantom..They bring back a part of my youth...I would love to see the one flying by the Collins foundation. To bad they didn't preserve more of these instead of using them as target drones...our young people are being denied a large peice of history by not being able to witness these platforms in action
Bret, I was on the Ike from '83 to '85 as part of VF-142. I was home stationed at NAS Oceana when I reported to the fleet. I was there when I watched the Aces of VMF-171 fly the F-4. I loved my Tomcats but to watch that beautiful beast, the Phantom, do its thing was magnificent to watch. Oh to go back in time and be young again......
What a great comment. I could have written something similar. The F-4 is just so beautiful, there's never going to be anything else like it. The F-14 is my close 2nd favourite. I am going to look into the Colin foundation! I didn't know about that
These videos enable me to take a trip down memory lane. As I gaze at my monitor I feel so many emotions about fond memories of my past. Thank you so very much!
Such a contrast. Beautiful gentle music while watch machines of war (and self defense) flying. The F-4 was my fathers favorite fighter jet. He flew them in the 70s and before that the P-51 and F-86 in korea.
At middle of the film, I was thinking maybe because these F4 carried Sparrows in the belly, but at the end, it’s a lovely scene with true sparrow and fox1! Great title!
A beautiful contrast of artificially constructed defences protecting the Japanese nation and all its beautiful nature within. A well put together production. Much Respect. お疲れさまでした.
This is the work of an artist. Everything is perfect. Who would have thought man could be as serene as he is with birds as he is with planes. Thank you
Loved it, it was different yet it was nice to see the Phantom as always. Thanks for your excellent work of capturing the many things required to maintain a jet.👍
Lovely! you guys still using F-4's! they are really good jets i must say! and thank you for a very full of effort video shots! Greetings from Philippines!
1-300, I waited two days to watch this. I knew it would be a cinematography masterpiece and I wanted to be in the right head space to view this. It was well worth the wait. As I watched this moment in time unfold, and I saw the various teams working together, it brought back so many good memories that I hardly knew where to begin to express my thoughts. I was once part of those teams. I was a part of a greater whole. We worked together to accomplish a mission. In my mind, I can still feel the jet exhaust. I can still smell the fuel, the hot metal, the asphalt and concrete. It brings to mind being at sea aboard a carrier and smelling the salt air, the wind in my face as the ship made ready to launch and recover her aircraft. The deck rolling and heeling in the turn. My part in helping to prepare to launch my squadron's F-14's. This, in addition to so many other things. Oh what I wouldn't give to go back in time; to be 21 years old again and be a part of that once more...... It is my sincere hope that the young men and women of today come to appreciate those times in their lives when they too, were part of the greater whole in service to their country. 1-300, your work never disappoints your true fans. The juxtaposition of the sparrow on the big bird carrying the sparrow is perfect. So is the fox going home to her den, which no doubt contains her kits, just as the Phantoms did in returning home that day. As always 1-300, domo arrigato for your efforts. Seeing the notification that you've put out a new, undoubtedly magnificent work, always brings a smile to my face.
Probably the most unique looking aircraft ever built. It looks completely different to everything else, especially the front and rear wings. Beautiful jet❤ Wonderfully made footage too. Thanks.
Well, you read about them, and the angles on the wings and control surfaces were there because of design flaws. Hurried make do's to get the jet produced quicker. Like you say lovable intricacies that make this machine what it is.
After serving with VMCJ 3 / VMCJ 1 on RF4 B for 8 years 1966-74. I have to say the Japanese Aviation Men & Pilots keep these Phantoms in Beautiful condition, I mean Immaculate. On my bucket list is to go to Japan by next year and meet and see the last of these Magnifant Fighter bombers. Semper Fi. Sgt. Richard Cabral
Brilliant video as usual !!!!!. Watched from the ground on short final is still and will always be a legendary sight to behold. Thanks for this beauty overdose!!!!

Japan truly keep their aircraft in immaculate condition. Their F-4's always impress me, they are so well kept and look absolutely perfect. This was a great video and normally I can't stand music when it comes to aircraft videos but there was something nice about this one.
Wow. As always your shot composition is amazing. And I also got to see what I asked about a few videos ago: If the JASDF train with live weapons. =) Keep up the good work, good sir, and may I suggest a video on the Mitsubishi F-2s that always seem to be in the background. =D
Ah man, you are amazing. Please keep making these videos, also after the Phantoms have retired. Looking forward to come back to Japan for the 5th time!
Thanks to you, I feel like I’ve been there, and seen these mighty, ageless fighters and their crews. With only a little imagination I can smell jet fuel and the earth and hot metal. Thank you, as always.
It's always a magic moment to see and hear these footage, love the Phantom the last true fighter after the Crusader, maybe a day you will post a video about the Shin meiwa, who actually is a wonderful seaplane in service ....Merci 1-300 c'est toujours un pur régal....
Used to watch the QF-4s take off from Tyndall. There is nothing like seeing these take off and smoke as they climb up. I even was able to sit in the cockpit and it is very spacious but seems complicated.
I spent 13 years maintaining the Weapon Control Systems (WCS) on the F-4E. That was the fire control radar, gunsight, and the AIM-7 launch circuits. I was expecting to see a live fire by the Japanese Air Self Defense Force. I guess something got lost in translation.

sparrow!
