Wow. I never thought about Meryl Streep as Dumbledore, but you are so right, it would be amazing! And I loved that Neil mentioned Amanda's role on Veronica Mars because I just don't find many RUclipsrs talking about VM, despite the movie coming up! Anyway, great job so far with JanuHarry, Alex, you're fantastic :)
My dream is for a seven season long Harry Potter television show. I feel like they would be able to explore the details of JKRs story. All the foreshadowing and connections and intricacies. It would also give viewers plenty of time to connect with each character. Also, they would be able to tie in more of everyday life the way the books do. I just really believe that they could do so much with it! And it's not like they need to worry about generating fans. The show will sell. HP fans are some of the most loyal that I have ever seen.
I LOVE the idea of Hairspray John Travolta at Mrs. Weasley! Oh and Ewan McGregor as Lupin is amazing! I think you should just make the movies all over again with this amazing fantastical cast you just made up. :D
I can't get over the thought of Ewan McGregor as Lupin. That would be SO GOOD. I'm also super on board with Dave Franco being anything. Also someone else in the comments mentioned Ariana Grande as Luna which isn't a bad idea!
Benedict Cumberbatch as Snape Jessica Lange as Belatrix Felicia Day as Hermione Dylan O'Brien as Ron Josh Hutcherson as Harry Meryll Streep as Umbrudge (Death Becomes her, Devil Wears Prada, NEED I SAY MORE) Melissa McCarthy as Mrs. Weasly Brian Baumgartner as Mr. Dursley Jack Gleeson as Draco I could on but it makes me think too hard :P
Lee Pace as Lupin is an inspired choice that I would never have thought of but am very interested in. How about the trio from Never Let Me Go as a gender-swapped casting? Andrew Garfield as Hermione, Carrie Mulligan as Harry and Keira Knightley as Ron.
Neil's shirt is awesome. I want one. I think Jack and Finn would make a good Fred and George. I can see them playing pranks on people. Robert Carlyle as Snape Emily VanCamp as Hermione This is difficult. Just cast Jackie Chan.
I can completely see Tom Hiddleston as a younger Voldemort but I'm not sure if I would like him as the full on snake-y villain. I think his strength lies in being charming to hide a sinister character. If we can't have Lee Pace for Remus, let's just cast Alex. Clearly he knows the character inside and out. I agree with all the others though.
Benedict Cumberbatch=Snape Karen Gillan=Lily Potter John Barrowman or Johnny Depp=Sirius Really young Chris Barrie=Percy Caitlynne Medrek=Luna Harry and Luke Treadaway=Fred and George Meryl Streep=Everyone else
Seriously Ewan McGregor as Remus would have been all kinds of perfect as would Tom Hiddleston as Voldemort! By the way, Saoirse is pronounced Sir-sha :)
This was brilliant, I love Evanna, but I can see Amanda playing the role (and yes Emma Stone, although I did like Bonnie as an actress....just yeah writing....)
Joffrey as Draco in the first place would have solved a lot of the problems they had with Tom Felton - where all the little fan girls fell in love with him even though Draco is supposed to be this cowardly, reprehensible character. Everyone hates Joffrey. Also I approve Lee Pace for pretty much any role. So far he has succesfully played a transwoman, a suicidal soldier, an adorable pie-maker with magical powers, a romantic pianist in pre-WWII England, and an elven king. The man can do no wrong.
I always thought Hugh Grant would have made a great Lockhart. As much as I love Kenneth Branagh, he wasn't good looking enough to make all the female student swoon.
Tom Hiddleston as Voldemort? I'd be a Death Eater soooooo fast. #unf Liam Neeson as Voldemort would be good too. Just imagine him quoting Taken: "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." That SCREAMS Voldemort...
Wow. I never thought about Meryl Streep as Dumbledore, but you are so right, it would be amazing! And I loved that Neil mentioned Amanda's role on Veronica Mars because I just don't find many RUclipsrs talking about VM, despite the movie coming up!

You should do Mauraders era casting!!
So, you got to McGonagall, and my thought process was: "oh, the Dowager Countess, Dame Maggie Smith-wait."
Tom "Riddle"ston, just to perfect!
I'm pretty sure one of the original HP actors said they'd love to do a remake when they're older and have Emma be McGonagall and Tom as Lucius.
I LOVE the idea of Hairspray John Travolta at Mrs. Weasley! Oh and Ewan McGregor as Lupin is amazing!
I think you should just make the movies all over again with this amazing fantastical cast you just made up.
:D
Oh my gosh, I couldn't stop laughing at the John Travolta suggestion! I'm loving all of these Harry Potter themed videos! :)
Asa Butterfield could do a good Harry I think.
Benedict Cumberbatch for Snape, just cause he needs to be in there somewhere.
Oh, he could be a brilliant Snape! I'd love to hate him!
As much as I love the Cumberbatch... no. I always imagined someone more like (physically at least) Adrian Brody.
Oh I agree about Tom Hiddleton (?) Being Voldemort! He would be the perfect Tom Riddle!
I agree, Tom would be a fantastic Tom!
AbigailR84 Lol! Exactly! :D
Jack and Finn Harris as the Weasley Twins!
I would totally watch this version!!
Alex would be great as Remus and Neil would be great as Sirius!!!
Ewan McGregor as Remus? Yaaaassss
He would be absolutely perfect for it!
Literally with everything you said I just went ohhhhhh YESS OMG YESS
I AM IN LOVE WITH HIS SHIRT.
OMG you should do this for a marauder era movie!!
OMG LEE PACE!!!! TOM HIDDLESTON!!!!
Love your pronunciation of Saoirse haha! It sounds so much better! It's an Irish name pronounced sir-sha :)
I can't get over the thought of Ewan McGregor as Lupin. That would be SO GOOD. I'm also super on board with Dave Franco being anything. Also someone else in the comments mentioned Ariana Grande as Luna which isn't a bad idea!
Ewan McGregor as Lupin would have been amazing! I agree with Snape no one would be able to do it better than Alan Rickman
"Harry Potter as a musical? I don't think that could ever work" Burst out laughing so hard right there.
I've always thought Johnny Depp could pull off being Sirius or Snape
RIVER JOURNAL I SEE YOU
Man a lot of these were actually really good ideas, and I think maybe Ansel Elgort could make an interesting Cedric
Karen Gillian would make an awesome Ginny, and with Matt as Fred and George it would be amazing
Benedict Cumberbatch as Snape
Jessica Lange as Belatrix
Felicia Day as Hermione
Dylan O'Brien as Ron
Josh Hutcherson as Harry
Meryll Streep as Umbrudge (Death Becomes her, Devil Wears Prada, NEED I SAY MORE)
Melissa McCarthy as Mrs. Weasly
Brian Baumgartner as Mr. Dursley
Jack Gleeson as Draco
I could on but it makes me think too hard :P
"Nargle as a tramp stamp." Yes.
you shouldve casted me as ginny but
WHERE DID NEIL GET THAT SHIRT
This was hilarious! I think Shaliene would make a fantastic Ginny! I also really would like arianna grande as Luna.
Christoph Waltz as Voldemort would be great.
I'm throwing Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in the mix. As Crabbe and Goyle.
I think Natalie Dormer as Tonks would be good.
Benedict Cumberbatch as Snape
Lee Pace as Lupin is an inspired choice that I would never have thought of but am very interested in.
How about the trio from Never Let Me Go as a gender-swapped casting? Andrew Garfield as Hermione, Carrie Mulligan as Harry and Keira Knightley as Ron.
This casting is so horrible! I love it.
John Barrowman as Sirius Black.
"Harry Potter as a musical, I don't think that wouldn't work" DEAD even though a very potter musical series is great
Helen Mirren as Umbridge-she's not evil, but I feel like it would work
Maisie Williams as Luna!
And Alan Rickman is Snape always for me
Neil!
Where is that Doctor Who book from? I need it! :O
And I would love to see that cast, truly amazing!
Give Jackie Chan all the roles! If anyone could do it, it would be him! :P
i like neils shirt!
Ewan McGregor as Remus? Def. they need to make Avpm casting as recast
Neil's shirt is awesome. I want one.
I think Jack and Finn would make a good Fred and George. I can see them playing pranks on people.
Robert Carlyle as Snape
Emily VanCamp as Hermione
This is difficult. Just cast Jackie Chan.
I like that you said Andrew Garfield for Harry and Emma stone for Ginny. That is a movie I'd watch their chemistry is the best.
Benedict Cumberbatch=Snape
Karen Gillan=Lily Potter
John Barrowman or Johnny Depp=Sirius
Really young Chris Barrie=Percy
Caitlynne Medrek=Luna
Harry and Luke Treadaway=Fred and George
Meryl Streep=Everyone else
Meryl Streep as DUMBLEDORE. OH YES.
Seriously Ewan McGregor as Remus would have been all kinds of perfect as would Tom Hiddleston as Voldemort!
By the way, Saoirse is pronounced Sir-sha :)
Andrew Garfield is perfect for Harry Potter! Another reason to love him!!!
"Meryl Streep could play Bat Man and be the right choice."
Emma Stone. Absolutely. A thousand times yes- but I always pictured her as more of a young Lily than a Weasley.
Jennifer Lawrence just plays everybody.
This was brilliant, I love Evanna, but I can see Amanda playing the role (and yes Emma Stone, although I did like Bonnie as an actress....just yeah writing....)
(note movie writing, book Ginny was awesome.)
Dharmakingjay!!!!! xoxo
Sam Elliot as Dumbledore!!! he has the commanding voice od Dumbledore without having to raise his volume!!!!!
Meryl Streep can do anything. Except SING!!!!! Horrible in Mama Mia. :(
Tom Hiddleston would be great as Snape. See his impression of Alan Rickman.
I think that an older Benedict Cumberbatch would be good as Severus Snape
Your list of Hermione actresses is basically my list of top 5 most attractive females.
hardest question ever - who would Play umbridge in your cast Version? ;D
Totally agree with Andrew Garfield
Andrew Garfield for teenaged Mooney.
Lee Pace would make a great Lupin!
Allison Janney for ALL the roles. west wing
Just go ahead and cast Lee Pace as everyone
Joffrey as Draco in the first place would have solved a lot of the problems they had with Tom Felton - where all the little fan girls fell in love with him even though Draco is supposed to be this cowardly, reprehensible character. Everyone hates Joffrey. Also I approve Lee Pace for pretty much any role. So far he has succesfully played a transwoman, a suicidal soldier, an adorable pie-maker with magical powers, a romantic pianist in pre-WWII England, and an elven king. The man can do no wrong.
Jennifer Lawrence would also make a good Ginny
lol, if you let Snape stay the same, you have to keep Luna the same too. While Alan is perfect to play snape, Luna is perfect to be Evana.
I'm surprised you didn't consider Benedict Cumberbatch for Snape...
Karen Gillan as Ginny. Anyone?
You as Remus, seeing someone else besides you as Remus is weird, because you have always represented Remus to me.
I always thought Hugh Grant would have made a great Lockhart. As much as I love Kenneth Branagh, he wasn't good looking enough to make all the female student swoon.
Saoirse is pronounced something like sir-sher
I think Chris Hardwick could play everyone.
Seriously guys have you ever heard of any British actors?
Tom Hiddleston as Voldemort? I'd be a Death Eater soooooo fast. #unf
Liam Neeson as Voldemort would be good too. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."
That SCREAMS Voldemort...
TALK ABOUT THE MARAUDER ERA
I am shocked that you a big fan of Remus Lupin. Shocked!
Marlyn Manson would be an excellent Snape.
A Very Potter Musical was excellent.
Did ya'll know that nicholas hoult and jennifer lawrence are reportedly engaged?!
Erm Darren Criss?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Amy Adams aged a bit as Molly Weasley
Its pronounced Saresha
:)
I think you should trim your beard
