Talisker Parley, 48.6% - Whisky Wednesday

Talisker. A distillery with a lot of new competition in its vacinity, and a distillery that, in many peoples eyes, needs...reinvention...but in a way that benefits the drinker.
Outside of that view, this is the Talisker Parley release. A whisky that has a 3% donation from every bottle goes to helping replant 100,000,000 square meters of ocean forest. Finished in XO Cognac casks for an unknown amount of time and bottled at 48.6% - it is disappointing.
On paper, this should be brilliant, but it falls short in some places and then loses its identity in others. Very powerful cask influence with little Talisker character pushing through. A rather large price point of £85, with less than 5% of that going to charity... which is the point of the bottle. I'm not a fan.

Fair points dude. I enjoyed drinking it but I wasn't drinking a Talisker like you said. The casks must've been really active and it reminded me of Port Ruighe which also drinks less like a Talisker compared to the others on the core range. Cheers man 🥃

I quite liked it. Despite the higher ABV it seemed less punchy than the 10 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nice review, cheers. Got a screaming deal on this today, only 46 euro. Couldn't pass that up. I suppose they didn't sell very well and had to get rid of their stock.
