First time my mind went quiet I cried. I finally knew peace. I had no idea it was possible 😭😭😭😭. Getting emotional just thinking about it. I hope it stay consistent with my meditation and get back to no thoughts
How can something so fundamental to your thinking not be relevant in psychology o_O That seems like saying wood and bricks aren't important to house building. Imagine trying to understand someone's anxiety and depression and not be aware they have this internal voice that is constant negative thoughts, endless rumination on past conversations and events (esp that embarrassing thing you did 28 years ago as a kid). Conversely treating someone without that undermining from their own brain would surely be massively different.
"people think so much that they think that they're going mad if they stopped thinking" I think it's important for people to know that it's okay to practice "not doing" not thinking, not being.
I'm not seeing anything about having an inner monologue making a person more intelligent than one who doesn't it or has it less frequently than another, so her take on being a 'genius' (even though she's largely joking there) is off base.
@@kevinlakeman5043 That's what Dr. Hurlburt in the video said. From his research, he thinks only 25% of people have an actual inner monologue. So instead of thinking "I want to take a sip of coffee now" it is more likely that most visualize themselves taking the sip of coffee.
Over several days, two or three samples per day per person were collected. When the device beeped, a participant had to describe what was going on in their head at that exact moment. On average, about 25 % said they were having an inner monologue. This is completely different from saying that only 25 % of people have an inner monologue.

Hrf does one practice not being? Are you not being right now? 😆
I think it's more important to let people know that it is okay to think. Then maybe more people would do it.
I wish this was possible for me
Yes i do sometimes the conversations that I have with myself are f****** hilarious

😂😂 25% is outrageous
People without inner monologues creep me out and it's hard for me to consider them as humans. 😳😳
Only 25 % people have an inner monologue.
I think most people have
Prove it. That just screams arbitrary number.
