Always interesting to see how other people's organization. A new thing I picked up recently, is the odd numbered books face forward and the evens the other direction (comics are cover to cover) to prevent the 'gully' that occurs next to the spine. If you like try this experiment. Stand a short box on one short end and observe the angle made by the top of the books. Then arrange the books cover to cover and hike it up on a short end and...voila! Nice parallel tops. The pressure is equalized across each book.
I've considered that method but I prefer to keep all of my books facing forward. That impression can be prevented simply by not packing the bins tightly. Again, there is no wrong way. Whatever works for you. Thanks for sharing this method with others who are reading the comments. 👍
Regie Collects it was aggravating at first until I went to the odd/even method. The CLZ app allows custom exports which I import into Label printing app, which is what I am working on now. Stay golden my man.
Thanks for sharing, bro! The organizing is oddly what I look forward to doing when I have a stack of books ready to be put away after I’ve read them. Maybe part of it is because it gives me a chance to look at the other books in the stash that I haven’t seen for a while.
This happened to pop up on my feed. Great video! There was a spot that made me chuckle - knowing how much you like Nocterra (great books!), When you mentioned you don't actively collect image anymore was a little funny to me. Goes to show how things come back around! Thanks again for all the great content. Always enjoy it!
Hey Regie, nice collection. I agree those BCW plastic bins are expensive, but you can save a ton of cash by purchasing on eBay. There’s a few comic shops on eBay that sales them in bulk. I typically pick up a case of them for around $90 shipped. I use them exclusively, they are great!
i just got back into this and i'm having so much fun with my kids doing this, they get comics and i get the valuable ones lol, but to see them light up is everything
Thanks fantastic bro. It’s amazing to see the world through your kid’s eyes. Gives you a whole new perspective and appreciation for even the small things.
Funny....for a moment there I almost thought it was a 15-second ad at the beginning because of the music you selected! haha. Thank you for sharing how you organize your collection. Not many youtubers with go to great lengths like you have and show videos detailing how they store their collection. Thank you! Im glad you mentioned the short box for graded comics....I need to get one of those boxes. Right now I have the majority of my slabs on a bookshelf sitting upright just like books would. I think it is fantastic that every person that commented either does what you do, does close to what you do, or has their own little tricks....there is no wrong way, do what works. Me.....I would say pretty much close to what you do. Thanks for mentioning the protective barrier where the handles are, a reminder to check and make sure my newer boxes have those in place. I would add however that, that little handle flap (where your fingers go through) on the boxes that fold in......I hate those and I just take a razor knife and cut those little flaps off. I then take some packaging tape, and long strip of tape and go through the handle, and up and around the top and back through the handle from the other side...kinda like a complete wrap-around. That way it keeps the large flap on the inside secured to the wall. I also take a long strip of packaging tape and go across the middle bottom of the box for added strength on the bottom. Not going lengthwise, but starting at the side from the top going down, across the bottom, and back up the other side and over the top. This helps ESPECIALLY on long boxes because of the weight.
Awesome comic room Regie, when your live or filming we just see your background setup but showing us what's in your room and even outside your door is probably hell to your wife but heaven to any comic nerd that follows you! Cool video young Regie we needed the motivation!
💥Probably your best intro... Had to watch the 1st minute twice 👍 The sticky notes is so simple and easy to change as you get more books. Some people try to put too many books in one box and end up damaging them over time. I like that you keep the box full, but not too full... Great collection ! 👏
Full but not too full is right. If a bin is too fun it’s a pain to sort and you also risk damaging your books. I didn’t show my bubble wrap bundles and I should have. I use bundle wrap and folded t-shirts for those less full bins. 😂😜
Bro, that intro was pretty cool. I recorded this video a few weeks ago and haven’t watched it since. I guess I was on some creative stuff that day. Lol.
I do the sticky note as well. I'd like to design a better solution that can still be easily changed out. I recently picked up resin shelves from home depot and stopped stacking boxes and oh my, life is so much better.
Hey Regie. I used to keep books the way you do but I ended up with so many sub systems and categories that I could not quickly pull a book when I wanted to. I gave up and went with alphabetical. I also use a file cabinet but my current struggle is with slabs as they are growing and don't fit in the cabinet. Good to see ya buddy. Keep it up.
Hey Regie, I knew there was a reason I liked you. When you were going through your key bin I briefly glanced What If 32. That is one of my favorite comics ever! Thanks for the tour
Boy..you're really organized. I have 47 white boxes. 4 contain entire run of Ironman vol. 1 and 2. The rest are mixtures of Marvel, DC, Valiant, and indies. Someday I will have the energy to sort them.
That’s a very nice collection. Love those printed bin, but like you.... I love those BCW comic bins. Definitely going to grab more of them in the future.. God Bless.
It’s cool to see all the different ways people organize their collection. I built a cabinet to store my collection in. I have all my Spidey separate from the rest of the collection then everything else is alphabetized. Keeps my OCD in check LOL.
Looks a lot like my collection. An unfamiliar person would look at it and think, "what the heck?!?", but I can find any book in a matter of seconds. It all makes sense to me! Great video as usual, Regie.
Another awesome video. Really enjoyed this getting to see your collection and how it’s sorted! I also use post it notes because the boxes are constantly changing due to purchases and sales. You can tell I’m OCD from the precise sorting of my collection it’s a fun part of the hobby but also a grind sometimes.
i went back through all of the videos on you channel, and i could not find the video where you did the review of the Printed Bins. have found a lot of great information from your videos that is helping me get back in to colecting and focus where i want to start, i have decided to focus on getting keys first for a few of my favorite characters.
I'm glad that you've found the content helpful. At the end of the day, that is one of my major goals. Here is the video you're looking for; ruclips.net/video/BiQc3RH8HAY/видео.html

Awesome collection brother! Thanks for the information. I’ve been out of the game for over 20 years and your vids have helped me tremendously. I need to convince my wife to let me do a room like that.
You love Spider-man. LOL. Great collection and organization. I organize by publisher, except for my Green Lantern books which are separate as well as FCBD. I really want file cabinets. Although I may change up because my collection has grown over the last few years. Still, I may have to grab some of those plastic bins. Keep it up my man.
Fantastic last name Gary!!! The nerd cave is a wonderful thing bro. Prior to this my collection was in various closets around my house LOL. Good luck bro.

If not for copyright laws it would have been epic to start the video off with the theme music for Space Odyssey: 2001 when the door opened to the comic room. Thanks for sharing how u organize the collection Regie. I’m feeling those BCW boxes, gonna break down and get one of them.
Took my wife today to a local flower shop, and right next door was a collectible store, i was like yeah buddy, found a couple of Earth X issues and uncanny x men, and a captain america and the falcon issue 191 from 1973 in the dollar bins, turns out they had them on sale for .75 cents by the time my wife got there i had about 35 books all around me while i sat on the floor. the owner and her where just laughing at me, it was a good day.
Wow very cool books indeed! That last bin is FIRE!! Also really love those Ultimates and Ultimate Spiderman! Do you have the entire run of that? Also not alphabetical but still much better organized then my Comic/Card room but I am working on it. Very cool to see behind the scenes. Also those plastic bins are super cool I might need to get some of those ordered!
I realized after the filming that I could have showed another bin of solid books but whatever. Maybe next time. No, I don’t have the full run of Ultimate Spider-Man. I want to say I have all issues of the Ultimates 1 and 2 however.
Question: how do you store comics in a box if there are not enough to keep all the books standing upright and straight? Do you fill it with something, if so what do you use?

This my favorite video by you. I’m start using a divider instead of a turn around comic (that I don’t care about) in front and back to protect my comics. Also, how many comics do you put in your BCW bins?
Glad you enjoyed it bro. How many books to a bin? It depends upon the age of the books, the number of backing boards, etc. A BCW bin can hold around 150 comics or more. I’ve never really counted versus using judgement when packing a bin.
Once upon a time you could get modern or current but it appears those two sizes have merged into one. You may need to go up to the silver age. You may need an extra bag and board. Use my code: Regie at checkout on the BCW website to save.
@@RegieCollects Do you think it's better to have them in the bag pretty tight the reason I'm asking is because I have some that have some minor rolls and I don't know if I should put them in the bags tight or if I should leave them with some space and use the silver age bags
It isn’t clear what you mean by “minor rolls” or where the rolls are located. With that said, no, you don’t want the bag to be tight but you also don’t want it to be too loose which is why I suggested the extra backing board of you have some “wiggle room” in the bag. I Recently Got my First submission Back from PGX a 9.4 and a 9.0 not Bad for my first submission they’re on my Graded comic book wall in my comic Book Room
I need to know why books need to be standing up like that. I've never really bought actual comic boxes ( eventually settling in file boxes) and so they fit better horizontal. For forty years! They haven't fallen apart or anything. Should I keep doing what works or is it more important for their health to stand them up?!
Way too confusing. Now I understand that I'm not alone in my confused way of boxing things. It's so hard to take all my new books and put them where they belong. So in recent years my boxes are just comprised of books that came out that year.
When I started out I alphabetized everything and kept independents in a separate box. Then when the big crossovers happened, I grouped those together and that's when things ran amuck.
Too complicated for me. I prefer the basic alphabetical. Sure it results in more shifting but then I get to look at my books more and it’s easy to find them. I guess the “easiest” method to store would to be to use a catalogue system, as it’s just fill a box and note the location I some kind of software and then move onto the next box. however retrieval of a run would be difficult.
I also use extra backing boards in the ends of my boxes. I use about 5 on each end and it adds great protection.
Great room. Thank you for inviting us into it. You have a great collection.
Thank you bro. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
My favorite part was when Regie pulled the backer board out of the box to reveal Spidey’s face from Web of Spider-man #1 looking out at us. Pure gold.

I guess the “easiest” method to store would to be to use a catalogue system, as it’s just fill a box and note the location I some kind of software and then move onto the next box. however retrieval of a run would be difficult.
I cover that in my video on CLZ. It’s here on the channel if you want to check it out.
How do I go about getting on your mailing list 🤔
I don’t really have a mailing list. What are you trying to do?
@@RegieCollects I was trying to get a copy of your wizard anniversary covers. I am all so looking for comic exclusives when you subscribe to channels.
Ah. It’s my book but not my cover. You can visit ComicTom101.com for all the details.
