You’re correct. In 1997 I’d trained as a sales representative with Circuit City and the Whirlpool representative who was training us to sell their products informed us that Whirlpool favors laundering most materials in as warm water as possible so that the weave of the fabric separates and release the soil from between the individual threads when being washed.
Something that I’ve noticed during your videos is that your lid is concave. If when your lid is in the open position and you hit the inside of the lid with the heal of your hand gently in the center of the lid, you’ll find that the outside of the lid will dome up without denting. It will look nicer and more premium.
    Love Whirlpool washers.
    Thanks for the video Jerry.

Warm or hot water for the win.
I noticed about my lid being concave, I actually left it like that on purpose as, believe it or not, there was enough friction between the lid and the strike that the strike would hold itself without the screws. Win.

I feel you with the changes in action. If the Amana fills higher than low on the Normal/Regular setting it will agitate at full speed the whole time. The only time I've seen it do that.
Heavy wash goes for 31 minutes on my machine. I'm VERY thankful it changes speeds during that time...lol. I'd have a pile of shredded wheat in the machine by the end of the wash period.

Lol, with such a long main wash the change in action is probably needed, you'd have a shredmana otherwise! Lol
For my machine, I'm actually noticing that it has more than 2 patterns. I'm now noticing that some cycles seem to have 3 different profiles. I wonder if load size detection affects the agitation profiles on this...
I still have a lot to learn with this machine!

My dad’s Whirlpool WTW4900BW has this same brake when it stops in normal cycle but it’s only engaged in final spin, not intermediate spin. It does run the drain pump for a bit before it’s done tho. And it’s a 2013 model so the lid locks right away. And the bearings are bad, you can tell that it has bad bearings by just listening to the spin tests that it does to sense the load.

My bravos with the flat washplate is a killer machine it cleans pretty much whatever I put in it and it does not mess around and do the gentle crap it does do the delicate agitation a couple few times instead of just at the end… it does that to help keep them balanced though which is nice to have… the mvwx655dw is the best Maytag bravos in history… especially the mvwx655dw0… my bravos gets the water very filthy… I do wish I can find the spin speed limiter on the board so I can change it from 660 rpm to 800 rpm…

In my opinion, the 2nd generation Cabrios, and 2010 to 2013 Whirlpool VMW's were where it's at. They had better normal agitation strokes that were shorter and faster, and would also not change the timing of the agitation mid-cycle like this one does. This one actually uses the bulky item's long agitation stroke during all cycles that those older VMW's would only use for the bulky cycles. Also, all those older models actually had a real rinse by default for every single cycle, instead of a spray rinse as these newer ones do.
