I'm a Texans fan. I think a large reason why he's struggling is that he doesn't have a good offensive line. He's a pocket passer, so he needs time to go through his progressions. I also think his OC, Bobby Slowik, is not putting him in a position to succeed, and I think he has lost his confidence causing him to play poorly.
I also believe his approach in the offseason, which involved going on various podcasts and linking up with Micah Parsons, was not a good look. I think he started feeling himself and let the media and the constant praise get to his head and boost his ego too much. I could go on all day, but these are excuses. Maybe he was overrated and underperformed due to low expectations and not enough film on him.
Dude said stafford would’ve had more rings if he had the same opportunities as him but that defense let down Rodgers most of his career.. that’s when I lost all credibility with this guy. I think he’s very egotistical in his brain when he speaks like that.
While it doesn't dissolve Stroud of his share of the blame, our OC might be our biggest problem. His play calling is so predictable that Stroud is asked, probably more than any other QB, to do magic with third and longs. Slowik calls games like he's still in San Francisco with McCaffrey, Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle. It's not hard to get pressure when your QB is having to take shots on every third down because every first and second down is either a run, screen, or check down play. And if his interview after the Jets game is anything to go off of, they don't want him making changes at the line. He's still got a share of the blame. He's playing scared, even though the O-line has tightened it up a bit over the last few weeks, he's getting too much into his own head, and overall, I do think he was expecting more this year, as were the rest of us. Honestly, as a Texans fan, I'll say that I think CJ is basically what David Carr would have been if he wasn't drafted to an expansion team.
Why you think Cj Stroud Struggling?
overperforming rookie year. setting the standard too high for this year

@@ThePlayAction2 his receivers are hurt and Damico Ryans is a defensive coach so he isn’t going to be able to coach cj out of a slump
The o-line has allowed him to get sacked too much. He seems shaken and apprehensive about it.
You know you made a dumb ass list when you put dak in there

This is petty reasoning

As a Texan fan just reading the thumbnail and title you were cooking
Never watched before but I just wanna say that thumbnail pulled me in that’s some good work
It’s one of the most overused stock footage and used as a thumbnail of 2024
Great content bro!
Did you watch the playoff game yesterday 👀.
By young is better
