Awesome mods. I have a TRD off road in magnetic gray too. Just put my TRD pro grille on my truck and it looks so bad ass now in the front. Totally worth $400 I spent even though it's just a piece of plastic.
Great truck man! Nice balanced work on the modifications, practical, looks badass yet not tacky. Hard to see that. I've seen too many Tacoma's with too much kitsch
After seeing how good this looked I traded in my 2005 and got the same exact truck. with 6 speed manual. It looks so good with the pro grill . And the tube steps. Thanks for the inspiration!!
I commented a while back but I have to say I loved what you did to your truck so much that it inspired me to trade in my tacoma for a new one I got the same truck same color in a 6 speed manual . I added the bed cover same running boards and pro grill. The interior is charcoal. I had been going back n forth on what color I wanted before I came across your page. I live in Ft Myers and there are no pro series to be found here so my truck the only one around with the pro grill. I have not done the light bar yet and am also looking at changing out the wheels I usually put 20's but i'm just looking around to see what is avail in a silver and black combo. I also plan to change hood to pro hood or sport with scoop ,
Hey G_Force, after you run those 5100's for a while, keep your eyes on the front tubes for leaking oil. I had two sets that did just that from normal driving. Just a little heads up.
Nice. I've got the same truck, same color and all. Ordered my TRD Pro grill last week. I've been going back and fourth on installing it myself or having the dealership do it. I read on some Tacoma message boards that guys were breaking clips off trying to do the install themselves. Given the cost of the grill i would REALLY hate to screw up and break it. But you seem pretty confident that it's a easy job. So maybe I'll give it a go. Cheers
This was super easy to install. I checked the grill before I left the dealership's parts counter to make sure the tabs we not broken. If you go slow and deliberately you won't have any problem. There is a video on RUclips showing the install step by step.
Where can you buy the pro grill? I love it cause it looks like the old trucks style for the actual name and I want it for when I get mine. I’m looking at getting an SR for the price but maybe I might spoil myself and get a higher trim.
Google TRD Pro grill Tacoma 2016+ and you'll see a bunch of sellers. I bought mine from the dealership when they first came out, but I hear you can get them for much less online now. If you want the real deal-call a local Toyota dealer. They are easy to install too.
I love your build - I have the same color truck in a 2013 - And you have the same tonneau cover, wheels & everything I'd put into a new build. Might I suggest some Weathertech or Husky liners? With all that snow those stock Tacoma floor mats aren't going to offer enough protection. Really beautiful truck man.
Very nice ride. where do you get those running boards?? they looks really good, or do you happing to know how make them????I need to put them on TRD SPORT 2017 thanks.
Very nice truck . do you bought the truck new or used? I have the same truck as you do too. I bought it new. I really like the 2017 trd pro off road , but it's very hard to find one in the state of Michigan none of these trucks here yet at the dealership. I also upgrade my 2016 toyota Tacoma TRD off road with the 2017 trd pro off road rims and tires look very great thanks sharing the video.
Looks great. I find that the lifted Taco's look funny with stock size tires though. That looks like more lift than just a levelling kit. Need bigger tires for sure.
I am in process of buying buying from Costco and Purchasing in Reno and shipping it to Hawaii what was the cost of your vehicle and the modifications did the dealer put the bill stains on the Nerf bars and as far as the tires was an easy dealthanks a lot
It was $35,609 for my TRD Off Road with towing; I did not get the tech package that includes the dual climate and rear sensor and a few other goodies...no tonneau, no JBL either; that added about another $2500 if I remember. After tax & license and doc fees we were $38,417 OTD. I was lucky and the dealer upgraded with BFG KO2's over stock tires for free-they were trying to meet a monthly quota so I got real lucky on that. Those are Predator tube steps OEM from Toyota that are a factory option/factory installed. You can buy them from a Toyota dealer with this description for between $400-$500 "PREDATOR TUBE STEPS - BLACK - TOYOTA (PT925-35162)"
Great truck plus nice mods. Depending on how far off road you plan to go, I would have saved the money you spent on the Pro grille, and put it towards some good rock sliders. I’ve seen those Predator side steps get pretty beat up getting crazy on the rocks. Plus you could save mega bucks on body repairs. Just sayin’.
It's a CAli Raised 32" Dual Combo Light Bar with the Apex Fab mounting brackets. caliraisedled.com/products/2016-toyota-tacoma-32-light-bar-lower-bumper-brackets?variant=26127135760
Just bought practically the same truck... Love it. Front grill is already on order... and next will be the tires. Just curious, without doing the leveling kit do you think the 265/75 is necessary over the 265/70? I dont think I will do the leveling kit for now.
Love that TRD Pro grill, hate the price tag. Do you get any vibrations after installing the Bilstein 5100's? I put them on a 2005 Tacoma and it gave me vibes up front. Now I have a 2016 TRD Off Road 4X4 Tacoma with no suspension changes.
I thought the Off-road model gets Bilsteins instead of stock already. Did you already have Bilsteins on then added other Bilsteins? Or did the dealership give it to you with Bilstens on it and that's what you're referring to? If you did add your own after purchase, can you toss a link to the Bilsteins you installed please? Thanks.
He went with the Bilstein 5100 series. They are silver in color and the fronts are adjustable from 0-3 inches of ride height. Yes the TRD Off Roads do come with Bilstein Shocks, the yellow ones with blue boots on the rear.
I noticed a little bit of water on your fenders inside the bed. Do you get any water leaking in with that cover? I have the BakFlip MX4, and I get leaking just like LOTS of other people. Enough leaking that I felt the need to make a video on the issue.
I have the same issue with the MX4 on my '17 Tacoma. G_Force - Did you do anything unique to the manufacturer install to prevent leaks? I sealed even the small gaps between the rubber seal and bed rails and still have water coming in, which leads me to believe it has something to do with the BakFlip 'drainage' system.
Best thing to do is use black silicone caulk along the rails. There's another seal from Bak that goes on the bulkhead, but if water is still coming in, you'll also need silicone on that area too. Very common issue.
A little moisture gets in but not very much-maybe because Utah is so dry. I set it up as suggested by the manufacturer with the drain tube and all but they never real claimed it was "waterproof" either. Sorry I don't have any good info for you. GF
The APEX brackets are the way to go with this light bar. Cali Raised sells it in a set. I got the combo recessed model. The combo offers a spot & flood effect. The description is 32" Light Bar Lower Bumper Brackets with 5D 32" OSRAM Bar (combo beam) caliraisedled.com/collections/2016-toyota-tacoma/products/2016-toyota-tacoma-32-light-bar-lower-bumper-brackets?variant=26127135760
I purchased the shocks through 4 Wheel Parts www.4wheelparts.com and also had them do the install. It looks like they used the top setting...I asked them to level the truck. The rear is at stock height. Some guys add a leaf to the rear for a slight lift but I wanted to make sure that I still had the factory ride so for now it's stock back there.
I got under there and looked and they are set on the top setting. 4 Wheel Parts did the install and leveled it for me. I asked them for level...they set the shocks, then did a test drive, then checked for level again. Lastly, they did an alignment.
How much was that light bar and where did you get it? I just picked up a 17' TRD off road in the same color. Fantastic truck. 3rd gen Tacoma was done very well.
APEX Fabworks & Cali Raised... Bought it on a group buy deal from TacomaWorld Forum: www.tacomaworld.com/threads/closed-apex-fabworks-and-cali-raised-led-black-friday-group-buy-closed.461034/
Hi i love your truck !! Im in the middle of buying one if you dont mind me asking what was the out the door price you paid for it ? I just wanna get an idea. Im getting otd price of 42k -44k otd im in California But I've seen some go for 36k-38k 4wd otd with towing package and technology jbl package
Hi Jose. It was $35,609 for my TRD Off Road with towing; I did not get the tech package that includes the dual climate and rear sensor and a few other goodies...no tonneau, no JBL either; that added about another $2500 if I remember. After tax & license and doc fees we were $38,417 OTD. I was lucky and the dealer upgraded with Predator tube steps and BFG KO2's over stock tires for free.
G_Force u got a great deal!!! Thanks for reply. Its the first truck i see that's exactly the same way i want mine. I love your truck!!! if you ever do the leather interior upload a video!! Im also considering that on mine with some red stitching Congratulations on your truck man! Thanks.
The Bilstein 5100's I added are adjustable and added approximately 2 inches the the height of the front end. I did this to level the ride. You can add them to just the front end and keep the factory shocks at the rear.
I'm thinking about going with the same shock setup. Do you remember the height used on the front and rear shocks. The TRD Off Road has only a 1" rake. So did you leave the rear stock and raise the front an 1" ?
4 Wheel Parts did the install and they raised the front to the highest setting...roughly 1.75" The rear shocks are the same but not adjustable so it's still stock height back there.
The FiberMax had the weight rating in case I ever wanted to stand up there but I didn't think I needed to go to the beefier F1. I like the reenforced fiber models(F1 & FiberMax) because they also have the better dent resistance.
I've been shopping around for nerf bars like yours for my taco. What brand do you have and what was the price, if you don't mind me asking? Your taco looks great, btw!
Thanks! Those are Predator tube steps OEM from Toyota that are a factory option. You can buy them from a Toyota dealer with this description for between $400-$500 "PREDATOR TUBE STEPS - BLACK - TOYOTA (PT925-35162)"
Thanks for posting this video. Your truck looks clean! How hard was it to run power to the led bar? What did you connect the relay to? I feel confident with mounting the bar just not sure how running power to it works. Thanks a ton!
The light bar came with a wiring harness. Two wires with loop connectors that go from the relay straight to the battery post/ground-it's pretty intuitive. There are two other wires coming out of the relay-one goes to the switch inside the cab and one plugs into the light bar. It's pretty easy to tell which one goes where. I was going to have my done by a professional since I've never wired anything in a vehicle...I took a shot at it and it wasn't too bad at all. I mounted the light bar as shown in the Cali Raised video. About a week later I did the wiring. I found helpful videos online. I'll try to post a quick overview video on how I did it when I get a few minutes.
I did just the shocks. 4-Wheel Parts did the install. They set the 5100's at the top level, took it for a test drive to make sure it was settled-it raised the front close to 2"
Hey I enjoyed the video, What was your loss in fuel economy after putting the leveling kit on? I am considering trading my Hemi Ram in because I am driving alot for work now and I would like to get some real world input on the Tacoma. I like the factory mileage claim at 24mpg better than my 13mpg in the Ram, so I would like to see the compromise with the suspension upgrades from the claimed 24mpg. Thank You!
G_Force Thank you for getting back to me about the fuel mileage. I just have one more question, if you could do it all over again would you have gotten the TRD PRO or kept the TRD OFF ROAD?
Love them. I really like the 5100's because it didn't mess up the ride of the truck. Other than lifting the front to level, the truck feels like the stock ride with maybe a slight improvement in a tighter, firmer feel.

Nice truck! I'm diggin' all of the mods you made- real tasteful! I have an '16 Taco SR5 , if you don't mind me asking what MPG are you getting? Im nowhere near EPA estimates =/
Nice ride. Your truck looks raised. The 5100's, are they the stock trd off road billsteins or other. If not who installed them, factory, dealer or yourself?
Those are a Toyota factory accessory. I've seen them for sale online too for about $500 www.oempartsource.com/oe-toyota/pt92535172?origin=pla&gclid=Cj0KEQjw-qbLBRD79JWsjuXI784BEiQAftBCI8qZP6GqTx4hQWS-31qRXfl0Kd1t6vbD68OrEKtBz80aAj0S8P8HAQ
It was about $450 as an OEM dealer part. I almost bought a SR5 truck because I disliked the look of that Sport/OR grille so much. In the end I decided to get the off-road and work on the look later on. In my opinion... although it was expensive...it made a huge difference in the truck's appearance.
It was $499...way too much to pay for a piece of plastic. I did the install and it was relatively simply. Plenty of youtube videos on how to do the change out. Let me know if you need a link.
I'm from here too. We have such a slight accent that most people wouldn't notice. It's mostly in the R's. I like the truck. That grill makes a huge difference in the appearance.
I did some research on covers before I bought one and settled on the Bak Flip. The Bak Flip has a very low profile, tight fitment and I like the strength and latching system. I also like how it folds and secured at different positions. Lastly, the Bak Flip design seem very water tight. I thought it might be better to spend the money with a company that specialized in tonneau covers. I can't really knock the Toyota OEM one either since I've never used it.
Replacing out a grill for 500$ just for looks?.. I have many other things in mind to spend 500$ on rather then throwing away that much money on a grill.. I have a 17 tacoma nice shinny chrome grill & I like it much & if people don't like it too bad look the other way I am not trying to please anyone of what my truck looks like..
If you like it that's awesome, for sure keep it! I changed out the grill because I'm the one that has to look at it every day and I didn't like it from day one. I'm not the only one-the chrome grill has been changed out so often I rarely see one anymore. It was so disliked, Toyota change it after only two years. The prices of replacing the grill have come down a LOT too.
You can put on bigger tires. I can go up a size to 265 75's on my stock 16" wheels. You can even go a little bigger on 17" wheel without doing anything to your suspension.
It's hard to do because, at least where I live, they go off the lot as fast as they come on. I might try buying one at the end of the month and shop two dealers if possible. 1) The dealer may be trying to move a few extra vehicle to meet a sales goal for the month so if your at the end of the the cycle they might be more motivated. 2) I ordered one from a dealer and then checked with a second dealer in my area. The second dealer wanted the sale so they gave me a better deal if I bought from them instead. The first dealer didn't want to match the better deal so I bought the truck from the second dealer in the end.
Shocks on all 4 wheels $800. Grill $500. LED light bar & bracket $250. The dealer threw in the tires for free when I bought the truck, otherwise about $800. The tonneau and Bed Rug about $800.
I wouldn't call it waterproof but it keeps my truck bed quite dry. I don't have any reservations about keeping gear back there. There is some moisture around the edges after a car wash but not much. We do live in the dry West so that helps too.
Awesome mods. I have a TRD off road in magnetic gray too. Just put my TRD pro grille on my truck and it looks so bad ass now in the front. Totally worth $400 I spent even though it's just a piece of plastic.
I agree. I cringe when I see the stock grill on others' trucks.
Nice! Can't go wrong with that.
Excellent truck choice. I have the same exact truck color and all.
Nice truck, I agree with you that a little bigger of a tire would be perfect. But it still looks really nice the way it is.
Added this video to my favorites just in case I ever pull the trigger on a taco. I'm copying all your upgrades, especially grill and light bar.
I commented a while back but I have to say I loved what you did to your truck so much that it inspired me to trade in my tacoma for a new one I got the same truck same color in a 6 speed manual . very nice and reliable truck i love this kind of mid truck thanks amigo gringo
Reliable? You clearly haven't seen the problems so many owners have had with this truck.
Dale Couture you must be a ford driver. FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily.
Hey G_Force, after you run those 5100's for a while, keep your eyes on the front tubes for leaking oil. I had two sets that did just that from normal driving. Just a little heads up.
Great video!
agree. your new cement off road looks great too. I just got a white TRD Sport myself.
Very nice!!! Was looking to do some mods on mine, great video to wrap my head around some cool stuff. Thanks!
Congrats on your truck and tasteful mods!
Great video, I was wondering if you could do a video on how you did the wiring on your light bar?
I'll put one up as soon as I can.
I do sure I do surely like a change of the Tug Toner special
Nice. I've got the same truck, same color and all. Ordered my TRD Pro grill last week. I've been going back and fourth on installing it myself or having the dealership do it. thumbs up for your truck it's a very reliable, ?... were did you get your step down running boards, they give to your truck that final touch!
Those are Toyota OEM Predator tube steps. Available from the factory as an option or added at the dealership.
looks very clean and smooth.
Great job, I love the grill and the light
Looks awesome. Looks like ill be spending some money now.
Where can you buy the pro grill? I love it cause it looks like the old trucks style for the actual name and I want it for when I get mine. I’m looking at getting an SR for the price but maybe I might spoil myself and get a higher trim.

Good suggestion. I think those are going to be a must-have.
Very nice ride. where do you get those running boards?? they looks really good, or do you happing to know how make them????I need to put them on TRD SPORT 2017 thanks.
Those are a Toyota-made factory option called Predator Tube Steps. Any Toyota dealer could install them for you.
thanks for the information.
Can you do a tutorial on the light bar install?
Nice truck mate. Can you provide the link for bed cover. Thanks you
bakindustries.com/bakflip-fibermax
Lovely looking truck.. like the color
I have a 17 sport 4x4 same color and I also hate the factory grill may do the same thing anyway you can post some more photos ?
Looks great. I find that the lifted Taco's look funny with stock size tires though. That looks like more lift than just a levelling kit. Need bigger tires for sure.
get 16 inch wheels if you go 265/75/16, that what i have and it looks soooo good
It looks perfect ! You have good taste
Thanks!
Love it. Get a roll bar to finish the look
I am in process of buying buying from Costco and Purchasing in Reno and shipping it to Hawaii what was the cost of your vehicle and the modifications did the dealer put the bill stains on the Nerf bars and as far as the tires was an easy dealthanks a lot

Hey Boss! Really like what u did there. Looks very nice. Got a ? What's the name of the air shocks absorbers?
Thanks!
Bilstein 5100's...these are made especially for the new (3rd) generation Tacoma.
Looks great! Can you give me some more information on that light bar mod?
It's a CAli Raised 32" Dual Combo Light Bar with the Apex Fab mounting brackets.
caliraisedled.com/products/2016-toyota-tacoma-32-light-bar-lower-bumper-brackets?variant=26127135760
Just bought practically the same truck... Love it. Front grill is already on order... and next will be the tires. Just curious, without doing the leveling kit do you think the 265/75 is necessary over the 265/70? I dont think I will do the leveling kit for now.
I would do the 265/75's even without the level kit. Still no chance of rubbing but they look a little beefier.
Great to know - I will def go that route. Advice appreciated!
No problems at all with new shocks, they've been on for about two months. I like the ride better than factory; feels firmer and a little tighter.
BadCow is correct, they are an upgraded adjustable Bilstein.
Thanks for confirming.
great video. like trd grill as well.
Thanks!
I noticed a little bit of water on your fenders inside the bed. Do you get any water leaking in with that cover? I have the BakFlip MX4, and I get leaking just like LOTS of other people. Enough leaking that I felt the need to make a video on the issue.

@bootleg_flyer Where is the water coming in from?
VidsByPaul i have it coming in on the sides and bulk head
Best thing to do is use black silicone caulk along the rails. There's another seal from Bak that goes on the bulkhead, but if water is still coming in, you'll also need silicone on that area too. Very common issue.

Thanks for posting the video. Do you have a link or make and model of the light bar?
The APEX brackets are the way to go with this light bar. Cali Raised sells it in a set. I got the combo recessed model. The combo offers a spot & flood effect. Where did you purchase the set of bilsteins? Which notch did you go with up front? Did rear replacements leave the height at stock level?
I purchased the shocks through 4 Wheel Parts www.4wheelparts.com and also had them do the install. It looks like they used the top setting...I asked them to level the truck. The rear is at stock height. Some guys add a leaf to the rear for a slight lift but I wanted to make sure that I still had the factory ride so for now it's stock back there.
hey bud sweet truck....do you remember what setting you put the Bilstens on ?
I got under there and looked and they are set on the top setting. 4 Wheel Parts did the install and leveled it for me. I asked them for level...they set the shocks, then did a test drive, then checked for level again. Lastly, they did an alignment.
how do you like the ride at the top setting ?
I like the ride better than the factory Bilsteins... tight/firm feel.
simplicity at its finest! exactly what I would do if I had one lol. what else are u going to to do?
I think I'll add leather to the interior.
G_Force take a look at coverking.com
How much was that light bar and where did you get it? I just picked up a 17' TRD off road in the same color. Fantastic truck. 3rd gen Tacoma was done very well.

What setting are the Bilstein shocks set at ?
Isnt that light bar blocking airflow over the transmission cooler/heatsink?
None that anyone can tell. There's lots of space in there and mine's been in for several years with no noticeable affect whatsoever.
Do you still have this tacoma? Any issues?

I'm looking at getting the Cali raised bar as well, do you have any videos or pictures of how you wired it?
I'll add a quick video asap.
Hey G_Force, nice upgrades. Can you confirm the color of your truck is the one Toyota calls "Magnetic Gray Metallic"? Thanks
Yes. That is the color of my truck.
Thanks G_Force. Is this short bed or long bed?
Short bed.
G-Force, nice recap on the upgrades to the Taco, what's the story on the nerf bars, did you add them? Who's are they?
Those are a Toyota factory-installed option: Predator Tube Steps listed at $646 on Toyota's Tacoma config page.
You should have told the price you paid for each part as you show them.
Would it be possible only install the bilsteins on the front? Do you need all 4 to level?
You don't need to do the rear. Most people upgrade and level doing the front end only.
This may seem like a dumb question but can't you take off the stock grill, prime it and paint it the colour you want?
Yes you can. I did that before I got the Pro grill. I think it looked much better painted in matte black than the factory chrome.
G_Force ok gotcha. I don't like the chrome either and I like your truck 👍
Why did you add the Bilstiens when the sport and off-road has them standard?
The Bilstein 5100's I added are adjustable and added approximately 2 inches the the height of the front end. I did this to level the ride. You can add them to just the front end and keep the factory shocks at the rear.
I'm thinking about going with the same shock setup. Do you remember the height used on the front and rear shocks. The TRD Off Road has only a 1" rake. So did you leave the rear stock and raise the front an 1" ?
4 Wheel Parts did the install and they raised the front to the highest setting...roughly 1.75" The rear shocks are the same but not adjustable so it's still stock height back there.
Nice vid. I was thinking about the BAKFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover. What made you go with FiberMax? Thanks!!
The FiberMax had the weight rating in case I ever wanted to stand up there but I didn't think I needed to go to the beefier F1. I like the reenforced fiber models(F1 & FiberMax) because they also have the better dent resistance.
i plan to get the 2017 trd offroad double bac but i want the long bed!! is it too much??
Love the long bed... I don't think the upgrade is out of line cost wise.
Well done and great video! Keep it up
You mentioned you wanted to upgrade to larger tires. Why size/brand/model are you looking to get?
BF Goodrich All Terrain KO's in 265-75-R16
bought a 09 With Same set up& Fj Cruiser Wheels...Starting to notice Vibration Up front thinking now it might be the 5100 series Shocks
Nice Truck. What height setting did you use on the Bilstein 5100s?
They are set at the top setting on that shock-comes out to about 2 inches.
G_Force Thanks! I appreciate the help.
G_Force I know this sounds stupid; but i can't seem to find it, but where did you get the APEX brackets from?
www.apexfabworks.com/ the bracket is very well made.
Did you just upgrade the coils as well or just the shocks? Also what setting are the front ones set at too get it level?
I did just the shocks. 4-Wheel Parts did the install. They set the 5100's at the top level, took it for a test drive to make sure it was settled-it raised the front close to 2"
Hey I enjoyed the video, What was your loss in fuel economy after putting the leveling kit on? I am considering trading my Hemi Ram in because I am driving alot for work now and I would like to get some real world input on the Tacoma. I like the factory mileage claim at 24mpg better than my 13mpg in the Ram, so I would like to see the compromise with the suspension upgrades from the claimed 24mpg. Thank You!
I noticed no difference/change with the suspension upgrade. My Actual combine mileage has been around 18-18.5 before and after the suspension install.
G_Force Thank you for getting back to me about the fuel mileage. I just have one more question, if you could do it all over again would you have gotten the TRD PRO or kept the TRD OFF ROAD?
I'd go Off Road still. The price of the Pro is way up there and you can add a lot to the Off Road and still be lower priced overall.
Awesome rig!!! How are the ride height shocks working out for you? i was thinking of getting those or spacers . whats your thoughts ?
Love them. I really like the 5100's because it didn't mess up the ride of the truck. Other than lifting the front to level, the truck feels like the stock ride with maybe a slight improvement in a tighter, firmer feel.

Would those tires rub without the lift
luis flores these tires would have no problem clearing without a lift.
Where did you get the grill?
Bought the grille from the local Toyota dealership. You may want to look at the Tacoma World forums for ideas to find the best deal.
Nice truck! I'm diggin' all of the mods you made- real tasteful!
I have an '16 Taco SR5 , if you don't mind me asking what MPG are you getting?
Im nowhere near EPA estimates =/
I'm getting right around 18.5 in mixed city/hwy driving.
Nice ride. Your truck looks raised. The 5100's, are they the stock trd off road billsteins or other. If not who installed them, factory, dealer or yourself?
These are aftermarket 5100 Bilstein shocks. I had 4 Wheel Parts do the install. They level the truck, which raises the front end about 1.75"-2"
G_Force thanks
Do the Bilsteen leveling shocks come from the dealer or are they aftermarket
Those are aftermarket.
G_Force how do the blisteen ride? Thinking about upgrading mine to those, I drive everyday to deliver parts so wondering how they are
Love the ride of the new shocks. Feels firmer than the factory ones.
Where did you get your running boards ?
Those are a Toyota factory accessory. I've seen them for sale online too for about $500 www.oempartsource.com/oe-toyota/pt92535172?origin=pla&gclid=Cj0KEQjw-qbLBRD79JWsjuXI784BEiQAftBCI8qZP6GqTx4hQWS-31qRXfl0Kd1t6vbD68OrEKtBz80aAj0S8P8HAQ
Awesome thank you very much!
How much did you get that grill for. I love it, but have a hard time justifying the price.
It was about $450 as an OEM dealer part. I almost bought a SR5 truck because I disliked the look of that Sport/OR grille so much. In the end I decided to get the off-road and work on the look later on. In my opinion... although it was expensive...it made a huge difference in the truck's appearance.
Did you stick with with stock coils up front? And if so are the 5100's set at the max height?
Stock coils. 5100's are set at max height. Installer checked for level and then did an alignment.
Looks great
beautiful truck!!!
Nice truck man
how much was the pro grill and how much to install
It was $499...way too much to pay for a piece of plastic. I did the install and it was relatively simply. Plenty of youtube videos on how to do the change out. Let me know if you need a link.
Just from your accent, I knew you were from Utah :)
Funny...I didn't know I had one but you nailed it.
I'm from here too. We have such a slight accent that most people wouldn't notice. It's mostly in the R's.
I like the truck. That grill makes a huge difference in the appearance.
Do have a link for the front bumper dots? Thanks.
Look for GM Screen Shroud Vent Grille To Panel Retainers Clips (GM # 20514862) www.ebay.com/i/162123440874?chn=ps&dispItem=1
Thanks!
are those factory nerf bars?
Yes. Those are the factory Predator Tube Steps.
why you get the back flip cover and not the Toyota stock?
I did some research on covers before I bought one and settled on the Bak Flip. The Bak Flip has a very low profile, tight fitment and I like the strength and latching system. I also like how it folds and secured at different positions. Lastly, the Bak Flip design seem very water tight. I thought it might be better to spend the money with a company that specialized in tonneau covers. I can't really knock the Toyota OEM one either since I've never used it.
G_Force thanks for feedback. I went on bak flip website and think they are quality. Will be getting one. Which model did you purchase?
I bought the FiberMax.
No problems. It's been solid.
Where did you buy the bak flip cover bed and the bed rug
Where did u get the side step?
That was/is a factory-installed option from Toyota. Predator Tube Steps
Do you have a link to those license plate plugs?

how much was your bead cover? What was the MSRP and how much did you pay?
Got it from RealTruck.com $818.89 MSRP: $929.88
what was the MSRP on your truck and how much did you pay for it?
thanks for the info on the bed cover
$36,109 MSRP and that's what I paid. Through negotiation the dealership added my BF Goodrich KO tires and Predator Tube steps.
im putting the trd pro black wheels on mine
I like that idea. Thinking about doing that too.
G_Force the wheels arn't cheap, but i like the look
if you want the look but hate the price try MB TKOs
Why not just powder coat the wheels you have?
I love my toyota tacoma!
Are those tires 265/70/17???
Those are 16" wheels. 265/70/16
Can I put bigger wheels with regular stock shocks and stuff ?
You can put on bigger tires. I can go up a size to 265 75's on my stock 16" wheels. You can even go a little bigger on 17" wheel without doing anything to your suspension.
G_Force alright thank you! Do you think I could go 18 without rubbing ?
I have seen some info on the Tacoma World forum with guys using 18" wheels and adjusting the tire size down so they can do it without a lift.
G_Force alright thank you
Any tips on how I can get a good deal or negotiate the taco TRD 4x4 off road?
It's hard to do because, at least where I live, they go off the lot as fast as they come on. I might try buying one at the end of the month and shop two dealers if possible. 1) The dealer may be trying to move a few extra vehicle to meet a sales goal for the month so if your at the end of the the cycle they might be more motivated. 2) I ordered one from a dealer and then checked with a second dealer in my area. The second dealer wanted the sale so they gave me a better deal if I bought from them instead. The first dealer didn't want to match the better deal so I bought the truck from the second dealer in the end.
Nice ride
How much did the mods cost
Shocks on all 4 wheels $800. Grill $500. LED light bar & bracket $250. The dealer threw in the tires for free when I bought the truck, otherwise about $800. The tonneau and Bed Rug about $800.
Any issues with the automatic transmission?
I haven't noticed anything at all. Just passed 20,000, everything is running great...no issues.
Did you get Blisten 5100s?
Yes. I really like them.
They look great! I will be getting some next year sometime.
Did you lift it 3" from stock?
The rear is still at stock height. Added a level kit up front which, raised it about 2"
these good for 2017s as well?
Everything should be exactly the same.
Hey is the backflip waterproof??
I wouldn't call it waterproof but it keeps my truck bed quite dry. I don't have any reservations about keeping gear back there. There is some moisture around the edges after a car wash but not much. We do live in the dry West so that helps too.
