    Learned a lot from this, thank you 🙏 especially the part about CPI still not being safe when “used just for cooling” because it affects fuel trims. A lot of people were under the impression that it was safe. I’d like to learn more about the water injection as well in the future. 🤟

    This was a dope video, I do track days so I may look into getting a heat exchanger. Got my first track day with the stage 2 tune coming up next weekend so gonna track my temps there and see how it does.

    I went on BM3 app and saw mine at 133 on a 81 degree day with bms intake. I’m going to buy the extended turbo heat shield and modify the intake to face into the air box and see where it goes

    I hear people are using an "interchiller" kit that uses your ac compressor to lower the water temp to -20 to your intercooler. Making your manifold intercooler extremely cold.

      There are two reservoirs behind the front headlight. The smaller light is for the intercooler. Check out my last video walking you through the coolant bleed process for more information.

      BTW, the CAC cooling system is shared with the A/C correct? I know that the engine cooling system is separate, I'm just trying to figure which radiator is the CAC. I'm considering on mounting a mister right in front of it to help reduce the IAT. I plan on doing a endurance race and 1/2 mile runs later this year.

    Hi Kern, I’m watching this video once again to troubleshoot my IAT temperature (440i GC 2016 MHD stage 1 98oct Ron) the ambient temperature here in Spain is currently 30degress celsius, but IAT while driving is 45-46 degrees celsius… is that normal? if i let the car idling 5 minutes it raises up to 70 degrees celsius… I think this is not normal… i have selected in MHD sport cooling mode for intercooler but looks like is doing nothing! how can i know that the water pump for the intercooler is not working? apparently when i turn off the car, i still hearing a wining noise during several minutes… is that the water pump for the turbo perhaps? i really appreciate your help, thanks!

      @@kern417 really? Oh ok, then nothing to be worried about... i’m just learning about this engine and I thought the IAT should be like 5 degrees above the ambient temperature and not almost the double! 😉👌🏻 thanks for your time to help me!

    • @kern417
      @kern417  2 года назад +2

      When you're not moving there's no air flow so it's normal for iats to rise. As soon as you start moving again it should drop pretty much immediately.

    How can I add ice to my B58?

  • @Cvetniq

    Hi Kern
    I am having really high temperature in the intercooler, the system was checked, no leakage, tank is full with the green coolant, pump is working fine. I have DP, intake and TU fuel pump, changed the LPFP as well, and did a custom tune which is very safe, around 400 hp, but still when I do a pull on 4th to test it, the temp goes to 150 degrees celcius (302 Farenheit). Could it be a sensor issue? any recommendation will be appreciated! Thanks!

  • @jadenb51

    If you upgrade the intercooler do you have to add more coolant

    I thought charged air was after it passed through the intercooler, and boosted air was compressed air from the turbine before it hits the intercooler. Is that incorrect?

      Charged air temps refers to pre-intercooler

    Methanol will extremely help in reducing the IAT and added octane.
