- Raising Kanan Starz surprisingly announced Power Book 3 being renewed for Season 5 which is great news compared to the news we received about Power Book 2 Ghost Season 4 being cancelled. In this breakdown I run through everything we need to know going into season 5 of Raising Kanan and how this could connect to Power Origins

As i have said numerous times Raising Kanan is the best show hands down! Best acting Most realistic storylines and best writing. The character development has been patient and amazing.

Alot of people didn't like the Thomas family but I loved all the characters in the family. Raq, Marvin, LouLou and Juke hold a place in my heart. I like a build up show and getting to know more about the characters. It's not all about drug dealers and Raising Kanan doesn't glorify the lifestyle like Ghost and Force. I love all spinoffs but Raising Kanan feels less rushed and more realistic. That's why I love The Wire and Snowfall, they don't glorify the lifestyle.
Plus the pacing is more balance where you can enjoy the subtle slow moments without it dragging for too long.

I believe season 5 will be a slow transition into Origins as the storylines of the main characters of the first 4 seasons begin to wrap up.
I think Raising Kanan Season 4 ends with Breeze being introduced. And if Season 5 is the final season is where we meet Ghost and Tommy and crossover into Origins.
They Need 2 Quit Playing And Give Us Breeze 🥶 Already. Most Of Raising Kanan Was Never Spoken Of Either. Whenever Kanan Spoke Of His Past He Spoke Of Things We Haven't Seen Yet On Raising Kanan.

I feel like the reason why raising kanan is getting a season 5 and not ending at season 4 is because origins seems to be a continuation of raising kanan and you can’t start origins without truly ending raising kanan and wrapping up storylines because that would leave us as fans with a lot of unanswered questions going into origins whereas ghost and force are set in present day and they can easily end them and go into spin offs
I’ve been thinking the same, there’s no way they can close out the Thomas family storyline in just 1 more season, I love the Thomas family but besides kanan and Juke I don’t want to see more of them in a show about ghost and tommy

I never thought RK would end with season 4, season 3’s ending did not set up season 4 to be the final season at all whereas in book 2 they kinda did, Ik all the cast says they didn’t know but this new season is going to be all about a war between tariq and the tejadas aka the main characters of the show going against each other it’s a perfect set up for a final season. Plus book 5 won’t come out until 2026 at the earliest they haven’t even gotten a cast yet so RK has enough time for 2 more seasons I also think it is the show that should get the most seasons, Tommy was basically the secondary main character in power so force doesn’t need to go on for that long and book 2 is basically just a sequel to power it’s the same city and half of the characters came from the original power
True....and just cuz Kanan said he has to go see his moms. Doesn't mean she IS alive. She could be in a cemetery or possibly a old folks home.
Probably cemetery because keep in mind raq had kanan when she was 16 which means she would’ve been in her late 50s or early 60s when he got out which correct me if I’m wrong isn’t old folks home age

We only need one prequel, Ghost and Tommy's origin story, merge Kanans origin story with theirs since they all 3 came up together and give us more sequels
Really wanna see in origins a scene where kanan ghost and Tommy are running from the cops and ghost just disappears
So that means we will definitely see Jukebox in Power Origins. I would love to see her character in Origins

Kanan has to cross over because remember, they’ll have to show how Ghost and Tasha set him up.
Power book 2 ghost have alot of big stars in it like mary j blige, method man, larenz tate, michael rainy jnr and a few more like cane, braden and effie would of got a pay rise so its just alot of money including the budget of the production being modern times so the props cost more, however raising kanan has all new actors in it and is based in 90s so alot of the props are cheap. Plus they need it to transition into 'Power Origins' smoothly....
Unique not the only fan favorite I think us fans love Marvin just as much if not more

I can’t wait for Power Origins & how they wrap up the next two seasons of Raising Kanan. We’ll be getting all the information to connect the dots to the original power series. Jamie becoming Ghost , Ghost Killing Breeze Scene , Young Ghost Being A simp to Angela. I like the idea of Us seeing Kanan Car wash & ideas ghost & Tommy got , & Angela’s dad remembering James from back in the day.

With Raising Kanan being the best and the first seasons of BMF getting so much acclaim(not so much now lol),they realize that 80s and 90s centered shows not only cost less to produce but you can flush more story out of them. The Modern day drug game aint what it once was in those eras and by nature ppl just love nostalgia anyway.

When kanan kills raq I think she’ll accept it. She knows who he is. She knows it’s part of the game. And she is very clear on every decision she’s made whether wrong or right. She’ll still love him
Picture this… ghost and Tommy get up under kanan and they start running the streets under breeze.. ghost meets Angie and start thinking about going to choate.. kanan (and maybe breeze) starts shooting up his dads spot, eventually killing him… forces ghost to stay and try to protect his dad and ultimately get revenge (killing breeze).. lol amongst a bunch of other things but I can see that part of ghost’s storyline playing out over the course of the first season or two

1. I think Lou and Marvin will die in a war just like the Italian’s attack back in season 2.
2. Breeze manipulates Kanan to kill his mother for all her lies and manipulation
