    176 carries and Lamar may have taken 5 good shots from defenders all season. Incredible!
    On Lamar's runs
    4 of every 10 end with him running out of bounds or giving himself up.
    4 of every 10 he gets arm tacked, pushed out of bounds or form tackled.
    1 of every 35 carries he gets "Hit Sticked"
    1 of every 25 carries he scores a TD.
    Plus Zero negative yards for the entire season

    4 things I noticed.
    1. Their offense is so good that even though this is a compilation of all of the plays where Lamar ran the ball, I still got faked out a few times.
    2. Lamar is so good that some of the plays that should have been stopped in the backfield were turned into gains and even big plays in a few instances.
    3. There were a few plays where he barely got tackled that he could've taken to the house. I think he could've been the league's leading rusher if he broke those.
    4. This video also helps to illustrate why the Bengals deserve the #1 pick this year.

  • @TheDCGuitar13
    @TheDCGuitar13 5 лет назад +74

    No one reads the field like Lamar. He will take every single yard you leave on the table. He will see 20 yards and throw it or run it there in 4 secs or less. His arm is a sniper rifle but there’s a certain beauty and grace about it when Lamar runs. He decimates entire defenses and demoralizes them when they think they ran the right play. I’m in awe of him. Not only will he get past 5k total yards in a full 16 game season but could very well average 5k for years with the work ethic he has.

    His spatial awareness is insane. He always knows when he's about to get hit no matter what angle it is. People calling him RG3 don't know what they're talking about. RG3 is a straight line runner, he's got no wiggle, and nowhere near the awareness Lamar has.

    • @altlitepatriot6192
      @altlitepatriot6192 5 лет назад +19

      Very true , he has a special gift of just knowing. Most running backs not just in the league present , but in the HISTORY of the league have this type of gift. The comparisons to Vick alone no longer do it justice. This is if Rodgers fused with Barry Sanders , with the motivation and chip that only a few carry as well. Remember when everyone made a big deal and said one of the driving factors of Rodgers success being the position he was drafted? This is the same type of situation. Sure, 1st round pick 32 might not seem too rough. But being the last man in that green room , he thought he was going 3rd to the jets , this man was the last outta the green room instead. The drive he has to succeed is the best part. Notice how quick witted he is in pressers as well, already has more poise then the Vets in this league.

On a couple of those hits he took, his TE was just not fast enough to keep up with Lamar's decision-making & the speed of the developing play. The best-run I've seen in yrs, remains me of Earl Campbell..the run against Huston when he went helmet to helmet with #20, he knock the shit out of him, LJ awareness on the field is 100

    Running's a great weapon, but I wouldn't dial up very many. I love the read/option. Like one of those early highlights against the Cardinals, where he could see the OLB/DE crashing inside, before he had to give the ball to the HB. He had the edge, and could just take it. Not because it was planned, other than to give him that option, if he saw it. Take it when it's there. So read/option with a general plan of passing, if you're not going to hand it off.
    Lamar's such a transcendent running talent, I'd re-think the entire passing game. Be much more wide open, with no fear of extended passing plays. LJ can create an extended pass play virtually at will.
    Semi-related: Look at that ridiculous 12-step drop Mahomes made on that critical 3rd-and-15 WASP play in the SuperBowl. LJ could give up ground like that, and make it up with his feet or with his arm. Maybe not off his back foot, like Mahomes, but he can give himself all the space he needs if he isn't dead set on your standard choreographed-on-the-sidelines to make the completion in 2.6 seconds.
    Harbaugh's come closer than most, to plumb the depths of a talent like LJ's. But I'd put even more street ball into the passing game. He's that dominant.

    As much as he runs he just doesn’t get hit. Sure he gets tackled but he’s very smart at getting out of bounds and avoiding hits. Now I think he needs to learn to slide bc he can’t always get outta bounds but the whole “getting hurt running” concern is overblown
