Only error was to prime, you wrote " remove the intake house while the outtake house is in the tank " instead of vise versa. Love your video. Very nicely done. Thx for your help. 😊

I'm redoing my aquarium and have been using the 250 for years but I'm curious why you have the tube with all the little holes removed? Is there a benefit to this or purely aesthetics?

Please help I have the EHEIM Pickup 160 in my axolotl tank . Could you please give me some advice on I could make the current less powerful because axolotls do not like current strong .

Rifshy RnS I recently bought this one and started as you showed after 2 weeks i got lilly pipe as my tank is small like 45 20 21
And just switched off the power closed the valves and replaced with nee likly pipes but started the power but it didn't worked
I removed the whole water from canister and tried its still didn't worked what would its not taking the water now
@@prashantdhotre You need to prime it again, check the video at 3:25 also make sure that you've opened the valves 😀

Sir, should i use the double tab connector for flow rate control Actually i have purchased eheim 350 classic for my 40x30x30 cm tank but the flow rate is too high for this dimension. please confirm should i half close the lever of outflow side to control the flow.
350 is way too over-rated for that tank, better to buy a 150.
Cutting down 50% flow is not a good idea

I have two questions for you. Does this external pump make noise? I have an 80L aquarium, I hesitate between the Eheim Classic 150 pump and the Eheim Classic 250 pump (the one you present in your video). Which one do you recommend and why ?

Does not emit any sound, the noise that you hear in my video when I turn the filter on: is the impeller startup at first, that's it, its pretty silent thereafter.
Classic 150 is sufficient for an 80L tank depending on the stocking and hardscape structures that do not block the flow and create dead spots.

Hello there,
You can clean it every 2 months, depending on the bio load. If it’s a planted tank with less fish, you may go up to 3-4 months.
Make sure to clean the filter with the aquarium water itself, in order to retain the beneficial bacteria. If you wash it with direct tap water, you may kill most of the beneficial bacteria, and it will take 3-4 weeks for the bacteria to establish.
At 3.38 the words should read "remove the outlet hose, while the inlet hose is in the tanks, not the other way around.

This is a 64-litre tank, for a 100-litre tank I suggest Eheim 350
Is it possible to control the flow from the inlet? I bought the filter but not set up yet. Worried it might be too much flow for my 60cm tank
Classic 250’s flow is just right for a 60cm tank.
Yes you can control the flow.
@@RifshyRnS No, you can't control the flow. the double tap connectors are not designed to reduce flow. if you try to reduce flow by closing the valves by a quarter or half, the double tap connectors will leak. Best to keep at 100% open, 100% flow.
Can this filter be placed at the same height as aquarium?
Yes can but it would be challenging to install and maneuver the hose. It is advisable to place it below tank level, typically inside the tank stand/cabinet.
Does it come with the filter medium?
Yes
Is the flow alright for a 60 cm tank? And will the Classic 350 be too much for a ADA 60p?

This filter is under rated for a 2.5 ft tank, use classic 350
I need your help deeply please, i bought used 250 filter but without o ring , can you please give me the details for the o ring size thickness diameter etc .

No, that sound is when you start up at the first time. Thereafter it is quiet.
my eheim 150 makes a sound "o o o o", if i lightly touch the lid of the filter, it decreases, do you know why, please guide me how to fix this problem, thanks
I guess there might be some air trapped inside, shake the canister while its on.

It is way too big.
Eheim Liberty 75 would be perfect for a 30cm cube tank.
Would there be any concern to turning off the filter on a daily basis?
(then back on after some hours)
Would it do harm to the motor long term or create some concerns on the media if it just sat around 8-12 hours with no flow?
I'm considering turning off the filter overnight that's why (let's leave out why I would do that lol)
Why would you turn off the filter?
Flow is essential for the beneficial bacteria in the filter media to thrive and do the job. Moreover, the circulation within the tank water column is important too.
Hello, beautiful tank. So is this how you prime?. Canister is empty, you suck on outlet hose, which creates a vacuum. Canister fills up. So you wait till water runs out of outlet pipe before switch it on?

I'm trying to prime mine and it won't work. It's filled canister just over half full but won't fill it anymore and I keep getting mouthfulls of tank water 🤮
Empty the canister first and try again
