    this build is NOT done yet. For those people wondering about the roof and the welds. I am sure it is tough welding upside down inside of a vehicle. Regardless, Colt told me he is grinding it all down and doing the body work on the seams. Honestly, even grinding upside down will be a bitch! but it will be even better next time you see it. There is LOTS of stuff they still need to do but brought it out anyway. So save the hardcore judgement, it's a work in progress! If you are a builder, you KNOW. instagram.com/meade916

Stacked acrylic with the LEDs is a great idea too. Can't wait to see it 100% buttoned up.

      @@meade916 I clocked 136-137 spl on the regular at IASCA and others back in the day....but whatever. We didn’t have remotes to escape the SPL for “safety” reasons.

    • @meade916
      @meade916  3 года назад +4

      @@Whisper_Pickle exactly my point...the systems today do a 136 just slamming the door shut. So that is pretty weak in the current SPL world. We have to have "remotes to escape the SPL" because our shit is actually loud. Also, i am probably older than you and had systems in my rides in the 80's and 90's as well. So i am speaking from experience. Your system was NOT loud enough to hurt you. You just think it was because back then everything seemed loud. Your screeching, distorted highs probably hurt your ears more than your subs. Just like most of todays systems.

    • @20hztremor
      @20hztremor 3 года назад +1

      There was a few very nasty loud systems in the 90's probably could hang with some of todays top systems. Even some of the low powered setups would kick your ass. Not saying the will rip your head off like todays monsters though. It is a whole different breed today

    I tried getting some B2 Rage XL's they were out and didn't know when they would get more so I spent a little more and got DC subs. The rest is a B2. I'm going to do another rebuild next year. I'll either go B2 Rampage or switch to all DC and lvl6 subs. I'm looking for a newer bass rig also. I can never find a vehicle with no sunroof. I never even use them. Back in the day sunroofs were not really a thing. It was a luxury add on. Shoot I never had cruise control or air back in the day lol.

    When doing a build with this many subs doesn't it make more sense to use subwoofers with a higher BL rating to help compress the air space? I mean, with all the doors open I suppose it doesn't make any difference but these subs are only like 25 BL. I'm aware that's not the only factor and high BL subs often have to trade off low end response a bit but it's a relatively good measure of motor force afaik and low 20s are considered kind of meh when there's 18s out there in the 40s and such. Am I totally missing the mark here or would this build have potentially been higher SPL if they had used a slightly different driver with a stronger motor?
