After having my street Porsche 951 ,folks in my club said " you need to take it to the track" !!! Our zone 2 representative put it like this " there are 2 spots in the green group at VIR , i want you there !!😊😊😊 didn't know why when I told folks I was going to VIR for my first track event they were like " wow !!! That is awesome " but when I got there I saw why !!! Had the opportunity to go back a number of times with PCA and always had a great time, i had the opportunity to work as track announcer for PCA club racing there for a number of years. My wife and I would make the 450 mile trip because the facility, staff and management team are just awesome. While working the mic i would have drivers come to the booth and tell everyone about their race !!! Interviewed David Murray, Darin Law and other notable drivers . This was a great documentary about fantastic place to drive !!! Thanks!!👍👍😁😁🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🏁🏁🍺🍺🍺🍺
Great documentary - I don't think anyone who's driven at VIR could watch it and not tear up a bit thinking about all the history there. I'll be there again this week making it 14 days on track at VIR in the past ~year and a half. ❤
Excellent.......brings back lots of memories working for G&W Motorsports at the Raceplex.....living in the Danville area....track days...karts....always be a special place in my heart for VIR.
I drive from South Florida to see the HSR, SVRA, and Trans Am racing there. Love it, even though Sebring is nearby, there is nothing like the changing elevations and natural beauty of the location! 👍👍
Beautiful track and fun to turn laps on when ever you get the chance. To bad like always the film leaves the motorcycle racing and the schools that use the track constantly. The Super bike races were massive weekends and great for surrounding towns as well, but the country club crowd and management made sure to step in and hurt those events. The place is great but could be so much more if they worked better with other divisions outside of the wine and cheese crowd that they do cater too.
I love VIR. I hope it gets more racing events. I'd love to see more interest. I also think the media team did a great job with this. Social Media is what will draw more people to the track.
Wonderful documentary. I fell in love with VIR the 1st time I went to a race there. My son and I consider it our home away from home. The racing is great, but it just feels like somewhere you've always wanted to be. We have had friends that we have been coming to races with for several years, and hope to soon introduce another generation to VIR when his kids get to visit.
Had my first track experience here on the bike with the California Superbike School. Such a beautiful facility. Will be back there later this year for another session and again with my son for the IMSA challenge. Love this place!
Saw my first race at VIR while I was at Tech. I remember the race that Roger Penske won when it rained almost the whole race. The only closed car in the race was a Warwick-Buick. I was wearing Madras bermuda shorts and when I got back to school I also had Madras jockey shorts. Absolutely soaked. I have great memories of going to races there, both as a spectator and also working for a race team. I hated to lose the oak tree and hope that one day they will plant a new tree. I'm babbling, but have had many, many good times at VIR
The most fun track I ever did a motorcycle track day on, and that was just the South course. Elevation changes, the infamous Oak Tree Turn, what a great place!
The images of the 1960’s era the image of the partying included a quick look at the image of Curtis Turner (with his daughter) at VIR. Very the NASCAR legend “Pops” Turner! I think the credits at the very end had a misspelling, I think that it should have spelled ‘BRUMOS Collection’ no “e” at the end of Brumos.
Yay!! VIR, the greatest racetrack in America that doesn't get raced at! This place has become another "country club" racetrack that only rich people actually use.
Great looking documentary but had to stop watching because the music is too loud and the interviews are too low. Have my tv set on 75 to hear the interviews. Then I get blown out by the music. My normal tv setting is 45. Hopefully you can go back and fix the levels.
Another thing... WTF is Mont de Blanc Raceway??? I'm a Canadian and I find it insulting that you can't even do your research and realize that it's Mont Tremblant Raceway. Besides, Mosport (currently Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) is the better comparison to VIR. The biggest difference is that Mosport actually gets raced on, not just used by rich people doing track days. We have Calabogie for that! Plus, Mosport used to be the venue for the Canadian Grand Prix.
Some notes on the vid. Great content however, the music is too loud and interferes with the much quieter speakers. The narrators voice is unclear making it much more difficult to hear at this low volume. A lot of newer channels put music too loud and / or have the type of music compete with the actual content. Editors need to realize that the audience is seeing this for the first time and can't take it all in at once Vs the editor seeing this dozens of times having become accustomed to / knowing exactly what is coming next . In other words, that complicated road / business sign is overwhelming to a person that has seen it for the first time however can be boring to the sign designer, boring is good. They should have left this park masquerading as a permanent road circuit dead. Without gravel traps and sufficient runoff, hundreds more race cars will now be destroyed and dozens of drivers seriously injured. Shame on you all for being totally clueless in regard to even basic road racing safety.
Awesome documentary and VIR is the best track in North America.

Great documentary. We're so lucky to have VIR close by. No better place to spend a day driving or spectating.
Live in Richmond and attended IMSA, SRO and other SCCA events. LOVE the place.
@@markzebr6463I’m out in Michigan and plan on coming here eventually. looks like a hell of a time.
As it is with VIR track itself, the video is beyond spectacular.
Great documentary - I don't think anyone who's driven at VIR could watch it and not tear up a bit thinking about all the history there. I'll be there again this week making it 14 days on track at VIR in the past ~year and a half. ❤

Incredible documentary! Full of history, education, excitement and local Virginia beauty! Can't wait to return again this Summer and Fall!
This is the best motorsport movie I've ever seen, period. I watch whatever I can find, this covered all the bases.
I drive from South Florida to see the HSR, SVRA, and Trans Am racing there. Love it, even though Sebring is nearby, there is nothing like the changing elevations and natural beauty of the location! 👍👍
I live close to VIR and love it. However, I will never miss an IMSA event at Sebring.

I raced there back in 2000, awesome track - lots of turns, lots of action...
I love VIR. I hope it gets more racing events. I'd love to see more interest. I also think the media team did a great job with this. Social Media is what will draw more people to the track.

I’m so glad I got to see this historical track I had an amazing weekend with the SRO

This is an amazing, underrated documentary. VIR was the first track that I've driven on. Can't wait to go back there again someday.
Look at me over on pit road by myself at 59:10 because my head gasket blew on the pace lap! What a cameo to have.
Well done. I love going to the IMSA race at VIR. It’s a beautiful track.
Incredible film. I make first VIR start this coming August in a champ car and I can’t wait.
The most fun track I ever did a motorcycle track day on, and that was just the South course. Elevation changes, the infamous Oak Tree Turn, what a great place!
I was there for the SCCA Regional in 2000! My second ever race. So amazing.
I love Motorsports history Thank you!
Exceptional 🏁
Fantastic watch! Hope to visit some day.
Fantastic. Thanks a lot for a documentary on of the greatest tracks in the world. Brilliant footage.
Recently visited. Hope to again sometime!

Circuit Mont-Tremblant is in Canada. This is an aerial shot of Mid Ohio at the 1:02:03 mark.
Thanks!
Went to VIR the GT Fantec last week
was there as well
do i have stories of roads in the area....and further west into the mountains in the area. this track reflects them.
Love the documentary! I do however find it wild that in the contract is no Woodstock like festivals then they had the BRRF fiasco
This doc starts off really rough, but man it's in the groove by 30 minutes in. Very good.
Thumbs Up ....to a real visionary, Harvey Siegel. VIR....Race On!
Lee Raskin...VSCCA, VRG, SVRA, HSR, PCA
I loved ripping my 08 Shelby GT500 around VIR. miss the oak tree
great video. but, 1:02:05 has a double error.... Mid-Ohio being shown, while misspelling Mont-Tremblant.
Yay!! VIR, the greatest racetrack in America that doesn't get raced at! This place has become another "country club" racetrack that only rich people actually use.
I can't believe that no one talked about the tree... C'mon...
@14:30
Unfortunately it's no longer there
Great to see all of the NASA stickers!
#DANVILLE
Let’s just not talk about the music festivals held there 😂
Great looking documentary but had to stop watching because the music is too loud and the interviews are too low. Have my tv set on 75 to hear the interviews. Then I get blown out by the music. My normal tv setting is 45. Hopefully you can go back and fix the levels.

Indycar should be racing there instead of that stupid rinky-dink truck in Iowa.
No, IndyCar doesn't need to lose any more ovals. Add VIR and dump a street race (like the suicidal Nashville course).
@@BSNFabricating all the fat, old oval fans can have NASCAR.

I'd say it's plenty safe. It's an old school track designed for slower/old school cars and it is how it should be. I LOVE the challenge/consequences.
Excellent show well done, wish you'd have included some motorcycle coverage and footage but otherwise well done
Do one on the track at Upper Marlboro Md. where the Tobacco trail classic was held.
