I put my eggs in my Instant Pot...put them on the rack, add one cup of water set the timer for 5 minutes, then let it release on it's own for 5 minutes before opening the release then put them in cool water. Works perfectly for the way we like them every time
I have the egg cooker. When the timer goes off remove all the pieces and pour white vinegar on the heating plate and use paper towels to remove all the brown cooked on stuff. Make sure to do it immediately while it is still hot.
I have the Dash Egg Timer. The later models have a hole in the lid allowing steam to escape. It can also be used to steam other food such as a 4 ounce piece of salmon or asparagus. Fast and makes for an easy clean-up.
I always add just a tiny bit of dill pickle juice to my egg salad or deviled eggs. Adds a little pizzazz to the flavor. I have found that the Instant Pot makes the best hardboiled eggs, & the shells always slide off perfectly smooth. Greetings from central FL.
We started out with the six egg cooker and loved it ….. we have now gotten a larger one that cooks ten eggs at a time ! Oh we use a kitchen gadget that we learned about from you to chop up our eggs ….. the meat chopper…… it works fantastic for preparing egg salad !
Hi Catherine!!! I have been hungry for Egg Salad!!! I have a egg machine down the base. I have never ever used it. I have had it for years . Im sure your is more modern!!! Cute egg timer. I never saw this before. I like it. Your egg salad sure does look super yummy. I need to make your recipe. YUMS !!!...Nice Video!!!...🦋
A coworker gave me the dash cooker about 7 years ago. I thought it was a strange gift but it has been a game changer making hard boiled eggs. I use it all of the time and it still works great after all these years. I told her recently how I still use it and it is one of the best gifts! I didn’t know that about not clicking in the lid (or I forgot!). Luckily it hasn’t exploded on me yet.
I use my pressure cooker! (NOT the insta pot brand). I break however many eggs I want to use into a shallow pan that fits on a rack in the pressure cooker. Put a lid and paper towel over the pan, pressure for 4-5 minutes tops, and quick release. Eggs are cooked, and I run a pizza cutter through the egg loaf to dice them up! Easy peasy!
Fresh chopped dill always plus some minced red onion I soak in some water for 15 minutes and drain well to cut the strong onion taste or shallots instead plus some sweet relish. I also add just a little amount of very finely chopped celery and I like to combine Hellman's mayo with a tad of Miracle Whip. YUMM Egg salad sandwiches is one of my top 5 sandwiches.
I have a similar egg cooker (Hamilton Beach Egg Bites maker), and I love it. The eggs come out perfect every time. I make my egg salad like yours, but we like to add a spoonful of sweet relish and a dash of onion powder. Thanks for demonstrating the two egg gadgets.
I have an egg cooker thatt does 12 at a time. I cook 12 for 2 daily at breakfast, so easy to peel. No timer as turns off when done. One of best things I've ever bought.
I have another brand of egg cooker. Love it. I don't put as much mayonnaise as you do. I chop up white onion and dill pickle very fine. Salt & pepper. In fact I made egg salad for hubby and I today. I just used the egg and mayo and chopped green onion and s&p, very good. I'm with you I love eggs. My egg cooker does 7 and since my cover is taller than yours I can put 3 more eggs on the top of the first layer, so I always dob10 eggs at a time. It automatically times it for me for hard boiled. A timer buzzes.
Hi Cathrine , good afternoon. I use the dash to . Also I make my egg salad like you did but I add alittle relish 😊 My second favorite egg salad is 6 eggs boiled and dice ,add 1/2 teaspoon onion powder,1/4 teaspoon ground mustard, mix well Then add mayonnaise to your liking, mix well …. Then add 1/4 cup thinly sliced olives and mix in,have on toasted bread,Mmmm mmm Let me know if you try it😊
I have the Dash that cooks up to a dozen eggs (which I really like). After cooking I dump them in a bowl of cold water (which cracks the egg), roll between my hands, then peel. Works great for me. Thanks for the video.
I also have the same egg cooker and it is so easy to use. I highly recommend. When you finish cooking the eggs pour a big splash of vinegar on the heating plate and wipe the brown stain off very easily. Love your recipes
Some egg cookers suggest using distilled water in the base to stop the blackening in the base. Mine does. These cookers are great appliances. TFS Catherine !
I love an egg salad sandwich, I’ve eaten them all my life. I make mine EXACTLY the way you make yours. I also love to add a tomato on my sandwich and cover in black pepper, so delicious. 😋
My husband loves eggs🤗 The Dash Egg Cooker looks nice! I’m constantly boiling eggs. I add a little sweet pickle relish to egg salad…along with the mayonnaise (or Miracle Whip) & mustard.
I put mayo, sweet relish, salt and pepper in my egg salad. I make it a lot, love it! I use an egg cooker similar to yours, Makes perfect hard-boiled eggs.
I put celery, chopped pickles, sometimes olives, onion, garlic and herb spice for seasoning along with pepper and of course mayo to taste. Love your videos, Catherine. Thank you for sharing.
Your egg timer is so cute. I usually just bring the eggs to a boil, turn off the heat, cover and wait 12 minutes and it should be hard boiled. But I love soft boiled eggs and the egg timer would really help.
Hey Catherine! 👋 I have the same Dash egg cooker and absolutely love it 💕 Wanted to share a tip with you…put white vinegar in the base and the residue wipes out beautifully clean every single time! 😉
I usually add some green onion and a rib of celery to mine. But everything else you did is the same. I learned a tip from another RUclipsr regarding hard boiled eggs. Stir them for a couple of minutes when they first start to boil. It helps to center the egg yolks to the middle of the egg. Not so important for egg salad but may be useful for deviled eggs. The other thing that I learned is that when boiling eggs, once they have reached a rolling boil, turn off the heat and set your time. The time depends on the size of the eggs. For example, medium sized eggs take 12 minutes, large eggs take 15 minutes and extra large take 18 minutes. I love your channel and your cookbooks. ❤😊
I put diced dill pickles, a dash of Louisiana brand hot sauce, a dash of tajin and some pickled jalapeños and juice. I use pretty much the same for deviled eggs. Since I'm the only one in my family who eats them, I can make them as spicy as I want
Thanks Catherine! Great video. I like how you made the egg salad. That egg in the water gadget is great. I had switched to using the 555 method in the IP. Also, love seeing different add ins
I was just thinking about an egg salad sandwich the other day Catherine!😍 We grew up eating this pretty much the same way except we always added sweet pickle relish!😘 I got one of those egg cookers several years ago!😚 I love how it's so easy to cook eggs! I recently got another since it was a good deal! If I use both of them, I could make more deviled eggs or egg salad.☺️ I also found a little pancake cooker. It plugs in and you can even cook at your table. I still can't stand very long so that makes it hard to have pancakes.😢 I use a pastry cutter to chop up the eggs. It cuts them nicely right in the bowl.😁 We really love our kitchen gadgets! So many helpful things when we're cooking!🤩 Thanks for sharing another great recipe!🥰
Looks delicious! I have an old Rival steamer I found 20+ years ago at a thrift store for $2.00. I have used it for steaming eggs since then. Or, I did until I acquired an Instant Pot which I now use; 5 minutes and they are done! I like to make tuna and egg sandwiches with a recipe that is like your egg salad except I add dill relish. If I remember, I add a little granulated onion powder, granulated garlic powder and a dash of ground celery seed. I am making your Salisbury steak casserole tomorrow, and I think egg salad will be on the menu for the day after. I still use the steamer for fresh asparagus spears. I have seen wonderful hints from you in your videos and others in your comments sections. You showed me a totally new way to cut a bell pepper. I had just watched a video of an Indian woman preparing green peppers using the same method and was trying to remember to try it. A few days later, you used the same method. You used it to prepare a pepper for a pasta sauce very recently. Slicing off the sides are so much easier than having to core it. I can’t believe I haven’t seen one prepared that way before, it’s just so much easier! I’m up so you can teach an old dog new trips.
There's nothing like egg salad for a quick and easy lunch or snack! I love my egg salad with onions in it and also use just mayo and yellow mustard. I've never added salt only because I don't think it needs it with the salt that is already in the mayo & mustard. That tomato on there, Catherine, turned up the "yum factor" to the n'th degree 😋
I’ve never had tomato slices on an egg salad or a tuna-egg salad (my favorite). It looks like a delicious addition. I’ll try it later this week when I make the sandwiches. New ideas are wonderful!
Hello Catherine, tks 4 all the knowledge u send out thru u'r videos. I luv it. Here's a lil solution 2 clean'n u'r Egg Cooker... White Vinegar 😲 yep!!! Makes it sparkle'n clean every time.
I haven't egg cooker that's a little different than yours and I absolutely love it!! That looks absolutely delicious. I think I'll be making some..😁👍👍🤗🤗
Yesterday (Mon.), I watched this RUclips video of your "Egg Salad Sandwich", and, then today (Tues.), I went to Target, and bought the "Egg Dash". I am so excited, I bought one. It looked like a very neat contraption. So awesome!! Also, last Friday, I made your "Rotisserie Chicken Salad" (sandwich). I ate it all myself, in two days...... so good!!😊❤😊❤😊
I bring my eggs to a boil, add salt then turn the fire down just a little to a soft boil and let them boil and cook for 13-15 minutes. Cool down in ice water. Take an egg, tap to crack and then roll and put back in the water. Do this with all the eggs. Peel. Then I make mine with the same things you do plus a tiny bit of red wine vinegar. Sometimes I'll add a little bit of sweet relish. And I always sprinkle paprika on mine.
I've never put tomatoes on mine but I will try it as it looks so good. I put a lot of black pepper but no salt and I add pickle relish and Worcestershire sauce. I'm hungry now, thank you.
I put a little bit of chopped up onion in mine. One time I didn't have enough mayo so used a little ranch dressing also and it was great.Like the tomato on mine sometimes also.
That looks quite hearty, and glad you enjoyed - indeed summer sandwich season is nearly here! My family makes it pretty similarly in the consistency, though we add a smidge more mustard and a little less mayo. We also like some crunch in ours with the help of celery and add salt in the form of diced pickles. ^v^ Those gadgets look pretty neat, and I appreciate the time you put into sharing them! Hope you have a wonderful day.
Beg to differ. I make sure my eggs are atleast one week or more old. Shell comes off zero issue. Never gotten sick either and been making that way for years and my mom for decades prior to me
Use Instant Pot works great eggs are easy to peel, when growing up we’d add tuna sometimes olives, Instant Pot great way to cook eggs, easy to peel you can cook potatoes at the same time for potato salad so easy going to try 🍅 tomatoes TY!
I love egg salad on toasted, grilled, or just some fresh, soft white bread. Sometimes, I'll make a tuna- egg salad and have it grilled in pan. I just add a lot more ingredients in that recipe, so good.
Love egg salad but I put celery , onions and sweet pickle relish in mine. Love the egg cooker. I tried doing it in my instant pot but too much bother just to boil a few eggs. Thanks for sharing this!
I have the Dash, it is awesome. I have best results leaving the eggs in the Dash for at least one minute after timer goes off, like instructions suggest.
I always use my instant pot for hard boiledk eggs. My eggs always come out perfect every time! But, your sammies look yum yum! Maybe try to add some very thin sliced celery and celery seed, too.... oh and onions and garlic, too!
I love egg salad. In addition to mayonnaise and mustard, I also add celery seeds and dill, a little garlic powder and onion powder.
I like mine that way too, along with about 2 tablespoons dill relish.
I put my eggs in my Instant Pot...put them on the rack, add one cup of water set the timer for 5 minutes, then let it release on it's own for 5 minutes before opening the release then put them in cool water. Works perfectly for the way we like them every time
That's how I cook mine. I love the Instant Pot.
Thank you for illustrating the egg gadget. I've been wondering if it works or not. Sandwiches perfect. Add mayo to my bread please.
I have the egg cooker. When the timer goes off remove all the pieces and pour white vinegar on the heating plate and use paper towels to remove all the brown cooked on stuff. Make sure to do it immediately while it is still hot.
Instant pot eggs are the best gadget. They peel so easy.
Olives!! Oops dropped that spoon. Live kitchen bloopers. Perfect !!!
Yes for olives!!!
I have the Dash Egg Timer. The later models have a hole in the lid allowing steam to escape. It can also be used to steam other food such as a 4 ounce piece of salmon or asparagus. Fast and makes for an easy clean-up.
That little gadget looks really nice. Easier when you’re alone thank you for showing it to us.
I always add just a tiny bit of dill pickle juice to my egg salad or deviled eggs. Adds a little pizzazz to the flavor. I have found that the Instant Pot makes the best hardboiled eggs, & the shells always slide off perfectly smooth. Greetings from central FL.
Dill pickle juice YES girlfriend
YOU are a good ole' Southern girl
We used apple cider vinegar instead. Yum!
I have an egg dash. You can actually pick up the handle of the egg insert and place it in your ice bath. No spoon needed!
We started out with the six egg cooker and loved it ….. we have now gotten a larger one that cooks ten eggs at a time ! Oh we use a kitchen gadget that we learned about from you to chop up our eggs ….. the meat chopper…… it works fantastic for preparing egg salad !
I have never seen those egg cookers before! Thank you so much I’m going to grab one now.
I love egg salad. I put sweet pickle relish, Mayo, mustard, salt, pepper in mine!
I like to have lettuce also if I have time 😊
So do l, the relish adds so much taste

I like adding relish, along with the ingredients you added.
