I know, I know.... I have a few unfinished projects that I need to finish like the e36 M3, e46 M3, 335d and soon I'll be starting on a e30 M3. I promise, I have some videos coming soon for these cars including e90 335d gets new f80 m3 seats. The e46 M3 gets a manual swap with a special guest. The 335d gets a makeover for Mpact and more.
@@quintengould1075 for a shot I'm not sure that makes much sense, for road salt it might be fine, but when you're talking about dropping brake fluid, gas, oil, coolant, brake cleaner, carb cleaner, refrigerant. These are pretty violent chemicals and will eat away at the paint.
@@JamiesGarage1 I just had Tuff-Seal tiles put in my garage from Advanta flooring and can't recommend them enough. They're crazy durable and have just enough give so standing or laying on the floor isn't as hard on your back. They're solid rubber and meant to have forklifts driven over them, water tight, can get them in a ton of colors and you can actually work on them unlike swisstraks which are pretty much all for looks. As far as cabinets goes, a buddy of mine had Moduline cabinets put in his garage and those things are sweet. It's almost like having one big continuous snapon tool box they're that nice.
Congrats on the new property. The “Jack Ass Garage” will soon be world class I’m sure. Polished and stained concrete is a good look versus epoxy. Always enjoy your videos!
In regards to ideas for the garage, I'd recommend learning from Charles's (Humble Mechanic) "mistake" with his flooring; he went with a certain type of flake on his floor, which has made it rather difficult for him to recover small (off colour) nuts and bolts that have been dropped on the floor as they've become really hard to see on the flake pattern. He's probably already told you this in person, but just to be on the safe side.
Build a central vacuum with a retractable hose for use anywhere in thr garage its not that complicated & doesnt take much space dont forget a strong vaccum to go with it.
Yes!!! More shop builds and updates and construction and stuff around in your new shop!! I love you see more part 2 to 10 whatever, I'll keep watchin' cheers!! Josh.
Matt at Obsessed Garage does garage builds and he's used Swisstrax for flooring solutions. He's on RUclips and has a great online store. Their HQ is in Lady Lake, FL not too far from Sarasota. Matt has BMWs too!
Congratulations on the new house and shop. I know when you start build anything it is going to be mint ! I look forward to seeing the progress and future videos. Thanks for all you guys hard work and effort that y’all put into making the best content ever. They are always educational and informative and freaking funny AF.
Dude…so excited for the next chapter of Jamie’s Garage! I dig watching your content and that ‘can do’ attitude! So stoked that you & your Pops are working together too. Best of luck brother! 👊🏼
That's awesome man! You deserve all the success you've accomplished Jamie. Super happy for you and your family. That just goes to show what honest, quality workmanship will get you. Mix that with your integrity and boom! Success story. Congratulations man!
Going back to an engine Mount video you posted yeah I can’t even imagine the work involved in just a short clip. Thanks for all you do Jamie. It’s hard being a family man and putting in so many hours working, I understand.
My ideas since you asked: Insulate everything. Wire outlets everywhere. At least 2 240V outlets. Security camera system. Make sure you aren’t taking out load bearing walls.
I remember the day I saw in my sub list a video of you talking about leaving the job…. I was a sub for a long time, and since then you’ve grown immensely. 💪
For flooring I highly recommend getting tuff-seal tiles from Advanta flooring. They're solid rubber tiles meant for driving forklifts over, meaning you can actually work on them unlike racedecks/swisstraks. So just as durable as the concrete floor but has a little give making standing or laying on the floor a bit more pleasant.
@@JamiesGarage1 I'm sure you'll like them. They're a bit pricy but I think they are well worth it, especially given how durable they are. Plus they're made in the USA which is a big deal in my book.
I recommend some good temp insulation and a heat pump! Dunno if your area faces such issued, but if you set the system up to cool during the hours where electricity demand is lower, you can better ensure that its actually cool and work through any potential blackouts
Vinyl tile, with the right glue it can be repaired if it gets damaged, can have a nonslip rating and also it’s easy to clean and find bolts on the floor if you get a bright colour.
Awesome, can't wait to see what content you and your dad will make with the new location! Personally I'm hoping for some Audi content, like the A4 B8. But the BMW content has been great so far! Really rooting for you over here, I always crack a big smile every time there's something new from you guys!
I’m planning on putting Swisstrax flooring and I’m interested to hear or see your plans for your garage flooring or if you’re going to leave it alone. 🤷🏻♂️ Love you vids tho! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
I think you made a good choice and I’ve been subscribed from 80k subs and I love to see the channel grow more and more day by day. And also I think you should go with detailing led lights around the garage and you should also go with the cheapest flooring possible to get by until you can get some epoxy
What about those interlocking garage/shop floor systems? They're waterproof and chemical resistant. What they used in a lot of the shops the show overhauling was filmed. Theres tons of designes now
The two pack epoxy is available, from ZAR🤣🤣🤣 As for power, solar battery and also think of using your pool as a heatsink. This will save you money when used with a heat exchanger to HVAC the workshop and offices. Combined with the Solar power battery system you can save thousands and with the right systems even have free electricity. I designed a special two tier workspace that wrapped around a two post lift. It had stairs and two places for workbench on each level with a built in oil, water, diff/gearbox oil dispensers and built in drains for oil and other stuff. Also full lighting meant my team could work faster and smarter and not have to have the car go up 'n down all the time. You could use a rig like this for camera work.
Good stuff man! Can't wait to see the future of the garage! Another youtuber just restored a big garage, Gingium, might get some ideas from him? Also, do you still own your shop?? Or does someone else own it since you fired yourself?

You didn't "fire" yourself. You upgraded yourself. If that's the definition of firing, I Will love to be on that unemployment line. Lol.

I actually talked to Charles about this very thing before. That’s why I don’t use flakes at my shop. 👍🏻
Good to see your hard work paying off! Keep up the good work!!! God Bless you!

I almost spill my coffee at that hammer broke scene 😁
I’m just glad I got it on camera! 😂

Good luck man, can't wait to see it all come together.
The hammer breaking is why I buy the yellow handled ones from harbor freight and either use as is or cut to length. Holds up to smashing rocks

You should do vlogs showing what you’ve done over time cause that would be so awesome to see

Swiss tracks for the garage portion and maybe tile/some form of hard flooring for the office space etc would look great
For Garage layout may be a good idea if you could do some collaboration with Matt Moreman from Obsessed Garage
Polishing the concrete is really the best option. Epoxy will peel due to hot tires, etc. polished concrete is resistant to spills and extreme durable.
Thanks for using the metric system for the dimensions of the garage! Really helped me and the non-US american part of your audience grasp the size!
My ideas since you asked:
Insulate everything. Wire outlets everywhere. At least 2 240V outlets. Security camera system. Make sure you aren’t taking out load bearing walls.
