This interview is an absolute gift. Neal is open, honest and just so incredibly thoughtful in the way he talks about his musical being. It is notable how excessively humble he is. On the one hand, one can see how this drives him to keep pushing his game. On the other hand, and certainly in hindsight, we can see how his doubts wore on him.
The fact is, Neal was a star!
He was my favorite guitarist by a country mile and I feel lucky to have seen him tear it up with the CRB for a decade.
    Those were some special years.
We miss ya Neal; the world was better with you in it

He had an incredible prowess and virtuosity with improvisation. He took Circles to soaring heights. He was a true master of his craft.

God Bless him, such a Soulful guy!
I wish his love of writing playing and travelling would have won out.
I saw him in London a couple of times ,once with his band and once solo;where he walked on stage without fuss carrying his guitar case ,took out his guitar and started playing.
Right there I knew he was special!
    RIP Neal
