I was always intrigued by CJ's game, since he gets so low to the ground and moves realtively slow. At 6'0 I tried his technique in pickup games; going slow and smooth, and getting low the ground. I can confirm it's a cheatcode. Slow and smooth keeps your defender in their own heads about what you're going to do next (instead of naturally reacting to speed), and low to the ground means your legs are always loaded to either drive or pullup. I recommend practicing it.
@@Grind2Excellence He's one of the quickest, but I've watched his game obsessively and I can guarantee you CJ moves around relatively slowly until he needs to get past a defender. It's especially noticeable when he's splitting the defense, he'll always do his little testing move (one dribble between the legs), lull them to sleep by moving slow af, and then he stuns them by unexpectedly exploding between them. I do a simplified version; I'll go 'tween 'tween in front of my defender, which at that point they're already antsy because I'm doing that slow af (the ball is hard to get to because I'm really low and my stance is wide), then they make the mistake of hopping forward to try to press me or to reach (they're thinking damn he's kinda slow I bet I can cookie), and I really only have to go 70% quickness to get past them by driving to my weak side (right, since I'm lefty). Again, I recommend trying it.
When I watch Portland games, when CJ carries the ball up the court he never turns his back to his defender, he dribbles right in front of you. A unique skill that not many have. Even in the league.
Only reason He hates listening to J. Cole is because his dad vibes with Cole's music and he doesn't really get along with 'em. So when he hears Cole's music it reminds him of his dad and he don't like that shit.
JLawBball I just saw you get killed by Xavier in the first 1v1 vid, but your perseverance and calm attitude got you a new sub... also good chit in that second vid
When you do the dribble before a pull up is it rule of thumb for the footwork to go outside foot then inside foot or visa versa or does it not really matter? Ever since the season’s been cancelled for me I’ve been working on a few of my weaknesses (perimeter shooting, footwork on the perimeter, handles and free throw shooting), my trainer says outside foot then inside foot but my coach says inside foot then outside. My footwork isn’t great on the perimeter because I’m a 6’6” power forward/centre who’s trained mainly as a post scorer so I’m better on the block than on the perimeter. Any help would be appreciated, for reference I’m: Height: 6’6” Weight: 110kg (not sure what that is in lbs) Not sure if any of that has any relevancy to footwork in pull ups but it’s there. 😂
The BLACK SWAN Productions It still is mandatory. NBA players literally only post small clips of maybe 10% of the workouts they do. These guys literally workout around 8-10 hours a day.
