American Airlines A319 First Class - Dallas to Pittsburgh

  • Finishing up my trip, I flew aboard American Airlines up to Pittsburgh, PA from Dallas, TX on one of their A319s in First Class! Obviously, this was no where near the experience I had in Flagship Business on their Dreamliner, but for a narrowbody it certainly beats sitting in Economy. Now, if only the meal service was on the First Class level, then it would be worth it...but sadly American eliminated their meals during COVID in the name of "safety". It was still a very nice flight though and since I just ate beforehand on my previous flight and at the airport, I really wasn't expecting a steak to be placed in front of me. American's A319 only has 8 First Class seats up front, so it's a very private and inclusive section pardoned off from the rest of the plane. It's a really cool experience sitting up there and having one flight attendant serving that few people, and when the FA is friendly it just adds to the goodness. Hope you guys enjoy!

The A319 is too cute. You can tell they were meant for medium haul with all the trolley space aft. Enough for two meals in an ideal world.

DLs best IFE product is on their A220s. The only mainline aircraft without IFE is their 717s and they're on the way out. Once the 717s are retired the fleet will offer a consistant product from smallest to largest.

Great video! It is good to see you enjoying flying in the front of the plane now too. I think that it is the general consensis that American's decision to get rid of the PTV's was a bad idea. From what I hear is United is bringing them back and Delta plans on keeping them.

    • @johniii8147

Thanks for sharing a first class flight. And because there’s a hub for AA at DFW, I would sometimes fly on that airline from O’hare to Dallas and Austin a while back. I have to admit I was on the md80 many times before it retired but I don’t think was always my aircraft to there and back.

This is the first time he flew first class, nice plane, I flew on this one in seat 2E, idk why I’m always such a weirdo booking isle seats, nice. I loved the plane! This one was beautiful! I loved sitting in the 2 rowed isle seats! First class is truly worth it (on long flights like this one)

It would be nice to see PTVs installed on AAs narrowbody fleet. Even UA has seen the light and their entire narrowbody fleet will be installed by 2025. AA unfortunetly has never been one for consistancy. When they started installing on the 738s they didnt' retrofit so you didn't know what you had until you saw the planes reg. They then pulled all of them out with the exception of some L-AA 321s. And how many "products" are availible on the 321.

DFW was designed as an origin and destination airport to begin with but deregulation in 1978 resulted in AA making it their main hub airport prompting more concourses to be built with confusion among passengers where their gate is especially originating passengers

The problem is with DFW is if you are a passenger originating at Dallas Fort Worth meaning you park your car at one concourse like concourse A only to find out your gate is in Concourse B, C, D, or E meaning you have to take the Skylink to your gate and when you get back you have to find where you parked your car also in a different concourse when you arrive which is why I don't want to fly out of DFW if I move to the Dallas Metroplex

The food and drink service on American in business/first is really mediocre to bad these days. The food is mostly terrible and for drinks they only carry two of each beer and not enough champagne for even half of first class to have a mimosa. First world problems right? but those are some of the things you are paying a premium for. Like going to a gourmet restaurant and eating with plastic utensils and drinking out of red cups.
