this was feel good song about leaving a miserable relationship i had with my former girlfriend around 1978,who was interested in playing both sides of the street, and pushing me into in what could of been miserable life together, elton always hit it on the target
It was officially a hit. It went to #22 on the main U.S. charts but I know what you mean. It should of been a big top 10 smash. And it seems like a forgotten hit. I just found out about this song. I love this soooo much
@SaturnTrack Interesting album. New group, new style, new inspiration and _a lot_ of fine tunes. My favourites include the quietly emotional "Shine on Through", the very melodic "Shooting Star", more emotions in "It Ain't Gonna Be Easy" and the uptempo drama of "Madness" (Tim Renwick's guitar play on both are memorable).
First time hearing this, I thought "can't be Taupin" - had to check. Right. Bernie's lyrics inspires different music from Elton, somehow. Like this one too, but - this kind of lyric is unusual to hear Elton sing
I love all Elton's song !!!!!!!!!

Class!!
I think Elton wrote this after hanging out with Stevie Nicks. It's very Fleetwood Mac-ey.

thanks to this, i'd survive to high school
Ego is his best...but i can dance with this:)
My vote (along with Ego") for the best song from his 'No Glasses' period ('77-'82).
Ho ancora il 45 giri 7 pollici in Vinile !!! GIN(): )
@SaturnTrack I would beg the differ, but to me at least this album is my top or top 3 of Eltons.
These days, a part-time love would be known as a "side chick."
I can't work out why this wasn't a huge hit. :-(
1978
Hit #22 popm. #40 AC in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? God bless!
