- Las Vegas sends off an iconic piece of the Las Vegas Strip with an iconic farewell ceremony, including fireworks and a drone show, ahead of the Tropicana's implosion.
I remember losing money there. Finally got my revenge.😋
Now the A's will carry on the losing tradition
The comment that you both made was the highlight of the day
Best drone show ever
Watching the destruction of Vegas for the last 30 years with implosions, half-assed construction projects has been completely heartbreaking. The glamour, the magic that was 50's/60s/70s Vegas is just like the cloud of dust... Just a memory that can never return. The drones rising was like watching the spirit of Las Vegas disappearing into the heavens.
the only constant is change.
That Vegas hasn't existed in generations and you're making it seem like it was just yesterday lol.
Yeah we all miss the mafia lol
@@tylertyler82you weren't back in the day How would you know?
@@johnheffner3950Because the world changes and moves on😂, you don't need to be there to see it
I worked there at the Mandera spa after the October shooting. Our higher-ups were very poor at communication and no one told us where we should or shouldn’t go in the next morning. Assuming we had to go in myself and another therapist arrived on the empty strip. I went into the employee entrance where drops of blood were on the floor, on the wall, and on the handles of the door. I went up to the spa and waited in silence until I realized the other therapist was there hiding in her room where two people fleeing the shooting must’ve hid before because she found drinks in the room. Following the days after my class and I worked on the first responders and it was very hard on them. It’s a core memory I have along with a few with my coworkers there and studying for my exam in the lobby. Rip trop
Locals don't want to come down there because you charge us for everything. We're not tourist. Stop treating us like one
Down to the explosion?
Haha alll about the money honey
Just become a money addict like everyone else. iT's nOrMaL.
Beautiful show, but RIP to a legend
So sad to see this happen. All for a baseball stadium and team no one asked for. Get ready for your rent to skyrocket up again. RIP TROPICANA!
Blowing things up to accommodate new things nobody wants is actually very Vegas.
Sooooo cool ... To experience this,at the Budget Suites 😅
The best fireworks , I had ever watched since I came to USA, thank you, I’m a ‘56 baby
Such a beautiful farewell
Yes it was. Amazing Fireworks 🎆 😍
I was in Las Vegas in 2000 with Dad, Tommy, Kimmy, Joey, Tita Leanette, Uncle Jorn and Oli when we see Tropicana hotel and casino as we entered the Las Vegas strip. So sad too see this structure gone. 😝
Here's an idea for the stadium name.. either the Trop stadium or Tropicana memorial stadium to keep the Tropicana memory alive
We still have the road
There is already a Tropicana field so I doubt they will be able to name it that.
I was there !!!
Thats the way to go out!!
Its BEAUTIFUL 😍😍😍😍😍Grucci OUTDID themselves
That was epic
So many beautiful memories 😢
mu heart weeps. miss that casino.
Looks exactly how the World Trade Center Towers fell
That conspiracy really messed up our country as we see it now. Just goes to show you what lies can do.
The A's are better off in Las Vegas than Oakland. Yeah I know Las Vegas has it's bad areas, but Oakland is a Hellhole!
Vegas is dirty and dangerous city. Shiiiit I've been there plenty. Vegas is nasty.
Literally every city in the States is a hellhole. It's because of the people inside.
EVERY town has its bad areas…..
A+
My parents actually went to the tropicana and stayed for 3 days.. They said it was one of the worst hotels they have been to
Nobody seems to understand that Oakland has become a dangerous hellhole.
Was there Oct 1-3, 2021. Now they’re gone.
Oh nooved that place
Eric The Actor called it
You know what to do....
Disgusting these two announcers. He says "Their loss our gain".. She says this really is a baseball town. He should have some respect. She doesn't have a clue. Vegas isn't a baseball town. You've never had a team. Have some respect for the A's fans that lost their team. Smh
🥺Sad to see this last vestige of vintage Vegas & stomping ground of the rat pack totally disappear.
Truly sorry for Oakland's loss. Only true sports fans⚾️ will understand this rift. It changes the fabric of your community. All the lives that depended on that industry too. Our great state is being utterly ruined by mismanagement. One bad decision after another.
😎LA has a checkered history w/pro-football🏈 teams coming & going as you well know. The Raiders were a favorite back then.
🤞Hope the Rams & Chargers stick around.
Born in the Valley on the North/West side of Dodger Stadium🏟, but I go as often as possible to see games. Mostly in the cheap seats, but I lucked out a few times to sit in box seats. The best part was growing up listening to Vin Scully call 'em on the radio📻 w/my Grandma Ruby🥰. Such wonderful & heart warming times.
😊Hope your marvelous memories bring you some comfort in the days ahead. Praying for positive change for all our communities.

Vegas is about to learn just how crappy the owner of the A’s really is.
No to mention I won big on my last 4 dollars there😢
800 to be exact ❤
Cool
Why do they have commentators?
Constantly trying to talk over each other.......
It's a start, still a whole strip to go.
Damnit I missed it 😂
They should have left it a casino... We really don't need more traffic at that intersection and another team...... Just like F1 it's a hassle
Right smh
I was really hoping they would find a different place to build the ballpark.
Where's the 24 hour car wash?
Wow
horrible audio quality but thanks!
6:38 o wow!!!
Now do maralardo
Next is the Mirage
That’s already being turned into the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Trading the iconic volcano for a giant guitar.
Locals can’t even support the raiders
The raiders are the 4th richest sports franchise in the entire world.
@@805fillmore not because of locals going
@@Savi80 Duh it’s Las Vegas. Are the locals the ones spending money and staying at the hotels on the strip?
@@805fillmore she locals will be feeling the stadium
looks like the same company that did the world trade center and building 7
It's the Oakland A'S Baseball Game Totally LOST AND THEIR HUGE BIG PROBLEM AND THEIR TOTALLY LOST!
IT'S THEIR LOST NOT ME AND MY NEVADAN'S AND LAS VEGANS
I been there before
Looks like building 7
Don't ruin the moment with 9/11
@@Bluemojieatscookie15 People are waking up to what really happened that day. The willfully blind are the enemies of truth.
My thought exactly.
Good bye 😢
Why is this celebrated with fireworks?? I think it’s terrible to be destroying perfectly good, historical casino hotels. Waste of money…😡 shame on them!
Of course fireworks! It's to celebrate its run. That's true Vegas style.
And as someone who worked there, I wouldn't say they were perfectly good. While until this moment they were the oldest buildings on the Strip (the Flamingo is older in name), Freemont hotels still have it beat. It was taking them ages to remove the asbestos in the walls, and the last owners ran it so hard into the ground they couldn't even sell it to anyone. That's why this ended up happening, haha. If anything it was a massive waste of money existing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Too much upkeep (especially when considering most of the property was pools) and they weren't profitable.
That said, building a baseball stadium there is absolute madness.
The implosion is part of the history of the Tropicana, as well as history of Las Vegas.
Land on the strip is expensive. It's better to have something modern that makes money, rather than a dinosaur that is a money pit.
Perfectly good? You sure about that? You want to pay to restore it?
I stayed there in May. Definitely run down. Lots of pool area.
Lol the old people are out tonight. Here's the reality the Trop was built on the cheap all those years ago, the glitz and glamour were a facade the Trop had been rotting inside for decades. riddled with concrete cancer and rust, it's amazing it stood for as long as it did.
did you see the airplane
🤣 Touche.
Looks familiar
Indeed. Lucky 7.
Getting rid of history all for a sport. Sad and so stupid!
Surprised it wasnt built by Trump 😂😂
Wow that got here quick. It seems like it was only a few months ago this was decided.
Old Vegas gone, new Vegas 👎

Reminds me of 9-11 but I know that planes and jet fuel made building 7 fall…
Oh wait…
Yep, the end of era of world ruled by criminals
What a stupid idea of an elaborate fireworks show. Just knock them down and move on. Spend the fireworks money on something constructive for mankind. Help cutdown on smoke pollution as well. How idiotic is this entire thing.
I bet you are fun at parties!
