Why do they always think people are bored of these IPs and they need it to be "refreshed" by changing everything? It became popular because of what it was!
Because _they_ don't like it.
When I saw the cast and heard about it before that, I immediately rebuffed it and looks like I was right?!. I mean how many of these actors were even around or born when the old cartoon came out?! That's enough for me.
Different you say... Why do I feel a migraine coming on at that thought??? 0~o
I honestly don't get it. They want to make money. They have an established IP with a built-in fanbase and loads of story lore, which means it will likely appeal to new viewers as well. Yet they flip the entire thing until it's recognizable in name only and wonder why it fails.
I have a feeling that they will turn He-man into master of the rainbow, and Skeletor is going to bone a lot of muscular men
Audience: Hey give us what we want?
People going out of business: How about I give you MY version of that
Audience: *leaves*
Masters of the Puny-verse!
Let's see . . . an alien strongman raised on Earth . . . where have I heard that story before?
10 seconds into the video, and Amazon has lost me already. How they managed to get “Fallout” right is a mystery. 🤦♀️
even then that show has a lot of lore inconsistencies if you compare it to the games.
@ Yeah, but it’s *good*, not unwatchable crap like “LOTR:TROP”. 🤦♀️
Fallout intentionally craps on the Black Isle and Obsidian games, but it also accidentally conflicts with Todd's pseudo-Fallout. The show got the visuals mostly right, but the moment you consider anything happening for a minute, it completely falls apart. Oh and it's waving the red flag like most things from the Hollyweird comrades.
@@crazyman8472 true i will give you that the show has quality on its own but its not a fallout show. Its more a show that makes use of the fallout IP.
“but the moment you consider anything happening for a minute, it completely falls apart.”
Like power armour being able to kick a rock through a brick wall but also gets trapped in place by an old 2x4 and some rusty nails.
I have to agree, the original fans keep the brand alive, the studio makes a new movie/show, changes everything so the original fans leave then cry because the 'new' fans never showed up. Its like who are you making this movie/show for?
Nah pls no he man doesn't need a reboot leave 80 cartoons alone already
so Amazon want to be the next Cannon Films eh? LOL. remember how Cannon stray from source material a bit when they did that 1987 movie.
They killed He-man once.
And now they are gonna do it again.
At this point I think they're just pulping the corpse with a spiked mace.
Someone at Amazon needs to have their piggy bank taken away. Whoever keeps thinking of these stupid ideas is really hurting the books and the company's reputation. I am not watching this ....thing.
OH NO 🙄
Yeah, like having a lead that isn't ripped. At least Dolph Lungren looked the part. (And starred with Courtney Cox)
And the only issue with Lundgren was that he couldn't speak English properly. In his defense, neither could Van Damme and Schwarzenegger but they managed to make it work. Turns out, Lundgren is very educated and eloquent, so if he was given the chance to work with a coach to help with his speech, it could have worked.
But then again, Cannon Films had other bigger issues with Masters of the Universe.
"So we secured the rights to the name and we're just going to create our own thing and shove it in there. That always seems to work for these movies."
"Excuse me... can I tell you about Sonic The Hedgehog? Snow White?"
When will the skinsuit era end?
_"They-them and the Leaders of the Cosmos"_ incoming.
That actor they picked doesn't even have the jawline to be He-Man.
I can already tell this is going to be a woke as hell shitstorm of failure, and I have no intention of watching it or of giving them a penny. Ya lost me at 'quite different' from the source material. I'm not okay with it being transparently vindictively agenda-drive to the point that it shits in the face of the fans and tells them they're bigots. STOP RUINING THINGS NETFLIX!
If you have little kids, show them the original He-Man and She-Ra shows. Otherwise, just watch the awesome Mike Young 2002 reboot and leave it at that.
So when gay prince Adam holds up their Sophora sword and goes "Slay Queen", they transforms to He-ra!
LMAO
This is gonna be Masters of the Universe Evolution, as in Dragonball Evolution.
To be completely honest the basis of the movie sounds an awful lot like the plot for She-Ra. She's stranded on a planet she's not actually from, separated from her Power Sword and she doesn't know about her past.
These people would buy out Taco-Bell and start forcing it to sell hamburgers only, while STILL CALLING THEM TACOS.
"but the burger patties still have taco seasoning in them"
Agree 100% about the Bumblebee movie, as an adult that grew up with the 80s cartoons it's the only one that seems faithful to the original. This movie hints of the live action Dragon Ball.
If they can't give us a version based on the original then whats the damn point!
Stop making it SUPERMAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh for Krypton's sake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Skeletor Dance Off will be cannon now. XD
Skeleton will be played by Ray gun.
"I've...had...a secret life..." 🎶
9:07 Zero Damage via beautiful telly show on Prime Video streaming platform ✅ Gonna restream S02 with relaxed pace early this year 📺🧘♂🍵 Good to know that S03 was confirmed & filming to begin before mid this year 👌
Why..... is it so friggin hard...... to just give us what we want.....?
They know what He-Man should be...they said it! Spectacles of battle and magic! That's what we want along with everything that made the original material fun...including the campiness....
“Fall of Grayskull 2” is the He-Man movie we need, but received only 60K out of its 250K goal on Kickstarter. I hope that the filmmakers will restategize their plan and try to kickstart again (I heard the director Daniel Benedict sold all his He Man collection to fund the trailer.)
02:40 they should get willem dafoe to be skeletor, they'd save big on special effects
So trash then.
It’s going to be hilarious if this movie version is so bad that people would rather watch the old one from the 80s
So it's He-Man in name alone.
'...rather than just another tale of battles and magic.'
Translation: People talking about their feelings over coffee to save $$ and to NOT be He-Man: Masters of the Universe.
the only reboot worth a damn was made in the early 2000s, it was pretty good along with the Thundercats reboot. both were cut short and cancelled though, I assume because there wasnt enough toy sales.
Joke's on you, Amazon; I'm a collector, and my DVDs and Blu-Rays of the source material will last beyond your feeble attempts at 'modernising'
At this point, when someone does something like this, all I can say is, "Thanks for the warning."
It's going to be a musical 😂😂😂
🤣🤣
lol
Ugh I’d forgot about the Voltron reboot too….sheesh can’t they just leave stuff alone?! Everything they make it’s a massive disaster because they don’t listen to true fans, just activists
...it became hard to give the established fans what they wanted about the time the modern writer self-satisfaction parade began. people want he-man for he-man, not what that plot apparently is...
I really want to see an adaptation of He Man that's a musical set in the 70s with a super-funkadelic disco soundtrack that ends in an epic DJ battle/Dance Off guest starring Patric Swayze!
He Man transitioned into She Boy.
So almost the plot of Superman?
Let me put on my shocked face! Geeky mentioned the brushable hair!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So He-Man sounds like Smallville and Voltron will be a giant furry.
They never learn old fans bring in new fans, that’s why the MCU WAS so profitable and popular.
I work for a couple customers they were in their early 70s and they literally drove for hours to look at black panther props that were on display.
(*sigh*)
The ONLY way starting on Earth can work... the ONLY way... He-Man's mom is from Earth. She was an astronaut. Start the movie with her leaving Earth and hitting the wormhole to Eternia. She meets the Prince and they get married. Maybe show how Skeletorand Hordak show up and Hordak steals the baby princess and escapes. There's the sequel movie. Cut to 20 years later for Adam as an adult.
Do this, it'll work for you. RESPECT THE DAMN SOURCE MATERIAL!!! Scrap your idiocy and give fans what THEY want! It's NOT hard. I'd even have Dolph Lundgren play in the movie, maybe as Adam's dad.
What would be truely hilarious... Have Jay Baruchel play Adam and The Rock play He-Man. Next movie have Gal Gadot play She-Ra.
@aaronmurphy9353 that sounds like a great beginning and great storyline, that's what it Should be but I'm sure it will be stupid, weird woke crap..ashame
