- Playing against the number 2 and 8 positioned Demon Players from last months Series in a public match.
This is the second match in a row against them for my final win needed to get the streak and I lost the last match!
The hardest final streak fight I've had so far.

I only just got my first skin mods recently, I'm still fairly new to pc. Used Doom 2016 and eternal to learn the keyboard and mouse. It's paid off I think lol

I've lost plenty of matches to those guys before myself but decided a while ago that rather than lobby dodging I was going to stick with the matches and force myself to get better... Your right though, it can be a very painful experience. The game would benefit from a skill based matchmaking because if the skill gap is too large you can't even get a chance to learn. That's why I'm uploading my guides as well. I've got my Slayers Essentials (part 1) guide up at the moment that you may like. Breaks down how I've gotten to practice up to the level I'm at now for Battlemode, I still run the same drills as a warm up so definitely worth a watch if you'd like. Ha thanks man. Its cool that it's got entertainment value even if you've not got the game. The game is due a lot of the credit there though. It is a fun game to watch and I try to use the mechanics to add to that as much as possible with tricks for style points, against demons like this though. Your absolutely right. They are set to maximum output at all times it seems lol. Makes for some real good games but they are hard work matches and trying to be entertaining is out the window I have to use all my tricks in these matches just to survive never mind get a win lol

Thanks Caleb! yeah I've been practicing with a lot of different styles for separate occasions and different demon combos for part 2 of my guide... some are terrible and I've lost a lot of games doing these tests for sure but the high risk, high reward, double grenade plus bonus boom is a complete delete satisfaction button when it pays off. Need to perfect it still but it suits a highly aggressive play style
The grenade double boom perks were the way to go! Killed the dreadknight w just that and an arbalest shot

So I've never actually played battlemode b4, so I'm planning on asking my friends to get the game so we can play, because I don't want to get clapped by some randoms because I suck at the game lol. Also, I'm putting myself through the torture of trying to beat the campaign on nightmare. (On my twitch.) It's tough because I play on Xbox, but I've learned to not just use the super shotgun and heavy cannon precision-bolt quick-swap. I've also learned to keep moving, use ice bomb more, rocket launcher lock-on is OP, and when health is low, instead of trying to keep fighting, RUN. Also, amazing gameplay. 👏 You're the best Slayer I've seen play, not lying, and it's entertaining. GG!
Excellent thanks man, It took me a long time to get here with battlemode and I've still got a ways to go yet against some players. Keep going, you'll be doing your ultra-nightmare run before you know it. Losing battlemode matches is standard, it unfortunately is the only way to get good at it. Especially since there is no matchmaking, I've lost loads of games. The more you play, the better you'll get but I understand what you mean. If you want to get your nightmare run out the way first that makes sense

When the game came out I was new to pc and could barely use the keyboard without looking at it haha so that's a long way to come, unfortunately it took me so long that by the time I felt I was good enough to start uploading the game was beginning to die out but ready for the next one as soon as it's announced! Thanks! It's been a lot of practice to get here and still a lot more practice to go, those matches are really difficult, I still lose all the time to these guys, they are really good. In regard to the no crosshair I do think playing without has made me better. It takes some getting used to for sure but I now aim faster because of being able to aim instinctively and look at what's happening rather than watching my crosshair placement. @@JoeBraveheart playing slayer in bm as of now is really hard by simply looking at the leaderboard u can see that top slayers doesnt have a lot of streaks to get on top

Your right. The slayer gameplay is very unforgiving and high intensity, the leaderboard is odd for the streak system. What I've found is the top players are all jumping in at the start of a new season all at once for the new content and cosmetics, this is the most difficult and competitive time to try and get streaks, once they have these a lot of them go back to the private matches for high level practice against eachother in preparation for tournaments and such. For me after I get a couple of real good game plays I'm also off editing and uploading (so not playing and getting streaks, but also slowing down so I'm crap again when I come back lol) then I'll go back, warm up and do some more, rinse and repeat. What I've noticed during this time is that the later it is in the series, the easier it seems to get to earn streaks. I was on all day the day I played at the start of this series and only got two streaks where as during the last weak of the previous season I was getting back to back streaks regularly then if I did get a loss usually I'd win the next matches anyway. Sometimes the streaks are more of a representative of the amount of time played rather than skill. Now you have to be skilled to get the streaks in the first place ofcourse but the people in the top ten will all be fairly close in skill and there will be some who are only just in the top 100 but play mostly in private matches so don't end up with a tone of streaks but are top tier players. I'd like to see a ranked skill based matchmaking type system implemented, I think that would be much better for new players for sure and help grow the player base. It must be the worst to have your first match paired up against someone with over 1000hrs in the game or even just in battlemode alone for some of these pros. Not only will that not be fun for either side, also the skill gap is way too high for the new player to ever be able to learn from that... And the pro isn't learning anything either except maybe some bad habits

Thanks! Horde mode is the last nameplate I need to get so I will have to do it at some point. Done everything else in it, just getting the nameplate for top scores requires I put the time in to memorize who spawns where and when so that I don't waste the multipliers but recently all my free time has been taken up with battlemode and editing then uploading battlemode again lol (on an upload day my pc is basically unusable the whole day) but I will get round to it if that's something people want to see

So I got a new PC, which is what I'm currently typing on, and I try playing some rounds on doom and I have SUCH A VERY LONG WAY to go
It is super difficult. That's why I started my guides series. I used Doom to learn PC. Got mine for Eternal coming out. You'll get there quicker than you'd think. There's a razor hex V2 mouse that helps greatly with the weapon swaps, takes some of the focus off of the keyboard by binding the weapons to the mouse instead

How on earth did you get full hellforged weapon skins?
I'm sure it was the streak rewards for battlemode, changes around once a month I think. That was a long time ago now but I'm sure they still come up as slayer rewards. My current blue flame sentinel skin and weapon skins are mods

At what point? I had the blood punch lots of times and didn't use it but these are top tier demons and up close against a good marauder is a complete melt machine, there's a good chance it could have been the right choice at the time though. If you type the time in as a comment it should link to exactly when your talking about

Nice, your right. Good spot, at that moment what was going on in my mind was that I was also low and out of ammo, had kind of over extended and gotten greedy so needed to start thinking about re-stacking. I don't mind leaving them at low health sometimes to prioritise my own survivability and keep them low. The dread is very good at getting away and if he did after I killed the marauder then he spawns back with half health anyway so finishing him earlier can be worse at times plus I was expecting the dread knights berserk at any moment and had no ballista ammo to get away so wanted to make some distance then re-stack a bit in preparation but there were a tone of mistakes after that for sure and maybe if the bloodpunch connected and finished that marauder I'd of had enough stack to finish the dread from there. If he berserked though it'd of been a 50/50 if I lost sight of him. Good advice though. It was just an in the moment option I missed, they are very fast players. I need to test out and gain confidence still on how much damage the blood punch deals to each player demon.
I thought you play without HUD. What happened?
I'm on a backlog of footage at the moment and have some great games from before I removed the HUD that I need to get out. Never have the crosshair though. No crosshair makes you better, no HUD is just a challenge lol

I've got tones of footage I'm working through at the moment, lots of great matches and also working on my guides that take longer to put together so currently working on quite a backlog of videos lol. Getting them out about as fast as RUclips and the rest of my life will let me

Why play without crossair?^^
Sorry for the long delay in a reply here. I go over why I do this and how it helps in my guide that I'll link here for you. ruclips.net/video/gMK_b04hDKI/видео.html basically I started doing this to help practice where the middle of my screen was for when I was playing squad which doesn't give you a crosshair, what I then noticed by pure accident was that without a crosshair I was now aiming and firing instinctively rather than waiting and trying to line up my dot on enemies then fire just as they move ha, typical. This sped everything up for me massively and now I swear by it. It's not ideal for all games but for doom I can't go back now. Feel like something's in the way on my screen whenever I have a dot in the centre and it's made me better at other games even when I am using a crosshair now too

I do fell it is best played on PC, I played Doom 2016 on Xbox and I loved it but not to the same extent, it was fine to play through once but once I got my PC I played was hooked. Not having to stop to use a weapon wheel and staying in the moment was hard to get used to for weapon swapping but way more fun and perfectly learnable, just takes the time to build that muscle memory on your key binds. I would recommend getting a decent PC if you're going for it. I doesn't have to be top range but spend a bit on it online, my first PC I got was cheaper from a shop and it was ok but not great which created a bunch of problems for competitive play. Doom runs really well but other games I wanted to play really struggled

This game needs mathmaking,
The game does need matchmaking for sure I agree but trust me. Play someone up in the top 10 and you'll see a huge difference. I'd actually go as far as to say that if you play against someone who's in the top 5. Most people will lose that match even if the other demon on their team is new. Of course a lot of the pros only play public matches until they have the rewards they need then go into private matches after that so the leaderboards are not completely accurate and the other problem is that it doesn't matter who you play against to get the streak. You could get a ton of streaks always dodging good players but even then you won't get enough streaks, fast enough to keep up with these players at the top positions. I would prefer to see a matchmaking system in the game as well but for now this is the best we've got. No other way to highlight what skill level I'm playing at unlike other games where it would be easy to show a rank and know I'd only be playing against other players at that rank or close to it
They are both really good, I've lost my fair share of matches to them. Bertram is always a good game for me, we're well matched skill wise. It's just a shame all the matches aren't like that. Another thing matchmaking would solve is that all the matches would be more fun. It's not fun getting rolled over in seconds and it's not fun mindlessly playing against brand new players that don't stand a chance either, how could they. I reckon the lack of matchmaking has caused battlemodes player base to be cut down significantly. I can only imagine how many players have jumped in for their first game just to be melted with no explanation even after beating everything in the single player on ultra-nightmare, that's where I came from and I was still getting smashed at first when I started battlemode (mainly due to the lack of air control I'd gotten so used to having). Battlemode is a completely different beast for sure, having fair matches would boost player retention for sure and people could learn much easier how to play
