Imagine a remaster or remake of this game
You can say that this is actually a remaster those games are upscaled I think
I would prefer a game the covers the first three films. This one doesn't even try to follow the structure of the films. Considering the fact that Toy Story 2 was originally planned as a straight to video release, it seems pretty unlikely that they would have planned for a game tie in. I would bet that this was merely supposed to be a Buzz Lightyear game and they just changed it to Toy Story 2 for market synergy with the movie.

I remember this game quite vividly. I had it on PS1. It was genuinely a blast. I spent countless hours as a child trying to beat the initial levels, but I didn't have a PS1 memory card so I started from scratch every time and never had the chance to sit long enough and finish it.
my ps1 always said no memory card in slot 1 and it doesn't save on the ps2 either, 🙂

Somehow this looks like it has held up pretty well. The platforming looks fun and the graphics are quite serviceable.
I think the style lends to it. But the level design and gameplay seems pretty good.

Me too. As a kid I didn't know how to beat the robot, I always tried to shoot him while it was moving and never guessed that you had to wait until it stopped moving. xD

This game has aged very well. The only things are the clunky first person aiming and the lack of camera control. I don't know if it was altered in some way for PS Plus, but the frame rate seems very smooth.
The boss fights sucks ass but the level design is top tier.

I remember playing this as a kid on the Dreamcast!! Made it all the way to the construction site but had to go to bed lmao!! Didn’t have a safe cartridge so I had to restart. Fun times!! Happy to see this game again!!

This is literally the first action platformer I ever played! My first ever video game was Toy Story Racer... As you can tell I loved Toy Story Lol. Also, the FPS on cutscenes was higher on the original hardware, idk why it's lower on the remaster here.

Super Mario 64 had massive open world levels and multiple enemies and that came out in 1996, games have had open world abilities for so long now it's impressive.
I used to play this on the N64. We got our N64 on X-Mas, got Toy Story, DK64 and Sarges Heroes. Those were the good days.
The sound from firing the laser sounds just like when firing the plasma pistol in Halo Combat Evolved. Interesting! 😄

The fact it doesn't lags when the enemies explode is so satisfying to watch
It's actually possible to manually control the camera in TS2. You just need to go to pause menu and select "passive camera".
