    You should stop fear factoring foreigners. The best way to start your experience is one teaspoonful of durian mixed well in a generous amount of vanilla icecream. Increase amount of durian gradually until you are able to consume the durian without any icecream.

    • @DavionKikiAdventures
      @DavionKikiAdventures  5 месяцев назад

      Where’s the fun in that? And how do you enjoy the amazing taste of durian if it’s lost in a generous amount of sweet vanilla ice cream that overpowers it?

    • @muffiltube
      @muffiltube 5 месяцев назад +3

      @@DavionKikiAdventures And the fun you're referring to is to see foreigners reel away from durian and swear never to touch it again? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of exposing them to the joy of the fruit? I've seen so many videos like yours with the exact same result - the foreigners hatred for the fruit merely solidifies! It's incredible that no one even learns from past lessons. The icecream is supposed to give them a familiar smell, taste and texture while experiencing the unique smell, taste and texture of durian which are usually offensive to those who are new to them. As they gain confidence, add more durian and reduce the amount of icecream. Baby steps. Isn't this better than to bombard their senses with something they've never previously experienced? I challenge you to do something that no other RUclipsr has done before - convert a durian-hating foreigner.

    • @DavionKikiAdventures
      @DavionKikiAdventures  5 месяцев назад

      Not all foreigners reel away and swear to to never touch it again. There are plenty of local Asians who don’t like durian either so it’s not just foreigners. It’s always a 50:50.
      How do you do the same method for other foods? Like Balut or coconut worms or fermented shrimp paste?
      Also, she is my girlfriend so we both agreed to do it this way. I would like you make a video introducing people to durians your way. The great thing about food is no one has to like one thing or the other.

    • @muffiltube
      @muffiltube 5 месяцев назад

      @@DavionKikiAdventures Firstly, challenging someone to make a video only works if that someone is a RUclipsr. Hence my challenge to you. Secondly, let's apply some logic. Why on earth would you eat balut or coconut worms or belacan with icecream??? There are plenty other ways to enjoy those other delicacies that make sense. Icecream is not a one size fits all solution. And I am neither an expert on balut nor coconut worms. For belacan, try it stir fried with kangkong. Even a hardened Aussie will dig in, based on my experience. Thirdly, whether locals eat or hate durians is besides the matter. I was talking about how you chose to introduce durian to your girlfriend. Letting you know what other RUclipsrs do and the invariable outcome should elicit gratitude instead of meh. Instead of using the fear factor touch, you should have eased her in. My suggestion of using icecream is meant to achieve this. But if you still insist on doing the same things yet expect different results, what can anyone say after that? Let's just hope Einstein was wrong.
