Greetings from Malaysia. Despite being accustomed to the temperature, Malaysians like shopping in malls because of the scorching weather outside. It’s no wonder that the city is home so many large malls because there are so many things to do at the malls. We wish you a pleasant stay and many exciting discoveries.
That makes sense!! It was definitely nice going into malls to get some air conditioning 🙌🏼 we are having a great time! Thank you for your comment! :)
Malls to us is more than just shopping. It's also about hanging out with friends and doing exciting stuffs like bowling and jukebox. That's why our malls are thriving with people.

@JacobandJennyTravel If you want to try your 1st durian ask for something sweet. Then progress from there if you like bitter after taste.
Just ate durian today, this came from our farm in Sipitang. There's also stalls that sell durians in that town, 2½ hours drive south from Kota Kinabalu.
"Best durian" 😅😂😅😅😂 all durian TASTE EXACTLY YHE SAME WHEREVER YOU ARE ON PLANET EARTH😅😅😅😅😅
Does not grow food like food sufficient Thailand.
Inside Merdeka 118, there is Office block, rooftop restaurant, a six star hotel, observation deck and shopping mall.Expected to open to the public by end 2024.

Just enjoy your holiday and have a wonderful experience in our country
Stay safe and stay bless
Warmest regards from Selangor Malaysia 🇲🇾
Thank you so much! We are having a wonderful time here 🇲🇾
If you see a calamansi on the food, just squeeze the juice off onto the broth to enhance the flavours. While for the laksa it's coconut milk. Lots of food here will have coconut milk in them namely nasi lemak, rending, curry, chemdol to name a few.
That makes sense!! A little citrus makes everything better! Thank you for your comment 🇲🇾

You guys looked like you really enjoying it in Kuala Lumpur, moving from one spot to another so effortlessly. And it's so surprising to still see some vloggers saying that the city is not walkable, and getting around is a challenge, which is strange!😂😂
It is amazing!! Such a great city. Thank you for your comment :)
It is funny that u can hear call for prayer straight away but there is an Indonesian tourist claims she can't hear call for prayer while she's in Malaysia 😊
Haha we heard it a few times! Thanks for watching :)

Welcome to my country. An interesting fact about that building "Central Market" that you walked past in the beginning of the video is that it actually was the central wet market in the city of Kuala Lumpur. It was literally a wet market and my mom used to take me to get groceries there (I honestly hated it). Grocery shopping back in the early 80s and late 70s was really nothing like what people do today in grocery stores: most sellers would be from the actual farms including the meat sellers (especially chicken), who would bring some of their livestock (alive) from the farms, and you can guess the rest of it. I've seen almost 5 decades of development in my country and of course proud of the fact that visitors to Malaysia like what it has become today. Last but not least, I'd like to thank you for visiting us. Hope you have a great experience while you are here.
Wow that’s amazing!! Thank you for sharing that information with us :)
@@JacobandJennyTravel Most welcome!

We'll be back in Kuala Lumpur this October for our second visit. First time blew us away. If there's anyone in KL who would like to meet up, and spend some time, maybe show us around with some local insight, just hit me up :)
2:55 where you were standing, is the confluence of two rivers; Gombak & Klang rivers. Place where the city was originally founded and named : kuala (meaning "estuary" or "confluence") lumpur (meaning "muddy").. So, Kuala Lumpur translates to "muddy confluence".. humble beginnings🙂
Cheers Guys❤

Welcome to Malaysia! Nasi Lemak (coconut milk rice) usually serve with varieties of dishes such as deep fried chicken, curry chicken/beef/mutton, vegetable and the must-have sambal sauce.
Laksa is pronouced as Lak-Sa (Lak as in lark and Sa as in Sahara). It is a noodle dish that differs from place to place, almost every state in Malaysia have their own special laksa. Penang Laksa is soury, Sarawak laksa is more creamy, Laksa Nyonya or Laksa Lemak which is famous in Malacca must have coconut milk in it whilst other type of laksa do not place so much importance in this ingredient. The debate will go on and on...
River of life is look different in night time. When night time kuala lumpur city it is look more live than daytime.

Some easy information for you to digest and understand.
Malaysians are made up of about 70% malays and other small ethnicities.
21% chinese and 7% indians and some 2% of other races.
Malaysia has about 33 million population, Thailand, Vietnam and Philliphines have about 3 times more people than us. While Indonesia easily 280 million. You can just look at the number of city dwellers between KL, Jakarta, Bangkok and Manila. And the level of air quality.
Originally Malaysia was known as Federation States of Malaya, including Singapore whereby all states are a country in their own rights. This is reason 9 states have respectives rulers known as Sultan (or King).
Malaya was invaded by 4 countries for hundreds of years namely Portuguese (only Melaka as other states were pretty much non existence), the Dutch people and last British with Japanese some time in between during world war 2. Being ex colony of British, we inherited English language which is now taught as second language in schools. Malay is official language though, while the chinese and indians speak their mother tongue language and many of them could master 3 languages - some 4.
The same reason we use right hand drive cars driving on the left way.
The 2 rivers merging is the spot where Kuala Lumpur got its name from. Literally meaning muddy confluence but direct translation kuala means river mouth and lumpur means mud.
Central market was originally a wet market where people came for groceries - hence its location next to the rivers. As the city grew bigger, smaller markets were introduced at multiple points and central market was pretty much abandoned some time in the 1980s.
Malaya gained independence in 1957 (the 118 tower was designed to mimic the 1st prime minister chanting Merdeka), in 1963 the 2 autonomous regions in Borneo agreed to joint form Malaysia. Singapore left in 1965 to be on its own.
You may notice a lot of similarities though between Malaysia and Singapore.
Welcome to Malaysia food paradise. You must try Malaysia Authentic traditional food Bak kut teh and Char Siew pork
That all sounds amazing! Thanks so much for the recommendations 🇲🇾
Central Market back in those days its actually KL wet market.
So interesting! Thanks for the the information :)
Any watery food the Laksa and Drinks you should mix it up/stir first before you take it...
Unfortunately, most of the fast food outlets including McD are closed down and/or low customers compare to before due to the issue in Gaza. You may try one of them for the Malaysia menu. Merdeka 118 consist of retail and restaurants, multi-function event space with cooling water features alongside carefully landscaped greenery, Park Hyatt Hotel with rooms and suites with panoramic views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline, with highest observation deck in Southeast Asia. We bet you you will eager to come back to KL again later...😀
