I loved the Settlers series. There are a lot of modern computer games out there with a similar feel, Banished, Going Medieval and Timberborn (you play as beavers instead of humans) to name a few.
I love pretty much everything Mighty Boards produces! This one looks great too! Thanks for covering it Rahdo! 😀
A combination of KeyFlower and the bonuses of being first to do something like Food Chain Magnate. Looks good!
I loved Settlers 3, I agree this definitely feels like the board game version of that. I backed it, very excited to get it!
This goods transportation logistics reminds me very much of Keyflower where you are also trying to match roads and you use horse carts to transport goods for various purposes.
Also _Founders of Gloomhaven_ has resource routing, but there it's more automatic.
oh wow, good reference! :)
The first thing I thought when I saw this game was Keyflower.
Nice roundup Rahdo, thanks.
I really like David's games, and I was totally gob-smacked by the non-grid tiles. I backed this right away when it came out, and your video really confirmed my suspicions about how great this game will be.
Two other points I want to mention. You make great videos, they are fun to watch. Been to Malta, I loved it. I am retired and am considering making it my ex-pat home away from home.
I remember years(?) about you mentioning this when you used to go over upcoming releases on the podcast and I marked it on BGG waaaay back then. Yay---finally it is a reality.
I loved Settlers 3 and 4. 5 and onwards are ok but they're missing the heart and soul that made Settlers what it was.
Definitely gonna back this one. =)
Another logistics game it reminds me of is the venerable Roads and Boats.
yes, someday i might play that! :)
In your prototype copy, did they not send you the final production pieces of the church? You didn't show what they look like in your preview or your final thoughts, and they're a pretty cool "big component" to the game that people would probably be interested to see. :)
my prototype only had what you saw in the video :)
Makes sense! I love your content, Rahdo! Thanks for everything! :)
Great review and summary Rahdo! Do you plan on releasing a monthly round-up for February?
yes it'll be up this week. delayed because jen and i went to the dice tower west boardgame convention :)
@@rahdo Thanks Rahdo! I love everything you do! You are my favorite boardgame reviewer! Keep up the great work and have an awesome day!!
Somehow it feels like Founder of Gloomhaven.. Supply chain to get a better type of resource,.. To unlock new type of resource..
You need to check out Roads & Boats!
we did try it once many years ago and didn't get far! it was beyond our simple boardgame novice minds at the time! :)
Of course I remember Die Siedler!
There are still Settler games, the newest one should be released soon.
It keeps getting pushed back, who knows when it will happen
"To be, or not to be..."
Someone had to say it. No?
The problem with Rahdo is there are NEVER any weak points to a game....
please see faq.rahdo.com #7 :)
also we *literally* streamed a top10 overrated games video today (though it will be gone tomorrow) over on the twitch channel
If a baby pig is a piglet and a baby owl is an owlet, what's a baby Rahdo?
like grogu, i'm just going to have to be a baby rahdo :)
