Yuki not understanding why he was slow: "There's definitely something going on, I can't be **** 19! The lap was pretty good"
Engineer: "You are Matt's biggest flop this round"
Yuki: "Ahh, understandable, I'll retire the car"
he's so overrated.
Got whooped by Gasly who's not even rated highly either. Schooled by a reserve rookie driver. And can only perform against a ricciardo who's now even destroyed him
@@sadikurrahman4833 i love the cognitive dissonance of watching Yuki Tsunoda being consistently good for most of last year and this year and thinking he's overrated because he had one bad quali xd
@@sadikurrahman4833 Lawson didn't school Yuki at all. And yes, after 5 races Danny Ric finally managed to do better than Yuki... what a feat.
when daniel said he couldn't understand where the 3 tenths was lost, people called him washed
Yuki had a yellow middle sector and said it was a good lap 🤪
Alonso was P3 for Redbull’s first pole and now he’s P3 for their 100th pole (both in China)
thats nuts and awesome.
Useless F1 data
and we love it.
This are the stats that I love…
Wait till they use this tomorrow on the introductions
Now that's a cool stat! 😁👍 Grande Alonso
alonso is the f1 example of 'i can fix her', pops the car right up there where it probably doesn't deserve to. even he was a bit surprised by the result after quali.
I find hard to access where the Aston “deserves” to be since they have a legendary driver and a shitty one
On qually pace on pair with Mclaren, in the race just behind Mercedes
Honestly Alonso is not just "I can fix her" kind of guy, he is a real alfa that comes in and 5 minutes later says "There, I fixed her !"
@@leolazari4238there’s never going to be in between in that team it’s always one world champion and then other Stroll who scored his last podium in 2020
Alonso + Newey, the ultimate “I can fix her” duo
Alonso to every shit car "I can fix her"
Haha yeah is definitely captain-save-a-…
yeah right,....but the McLaren at the time he could'nt........
Well, the McLaren-Honda was beyond salvation and even forced him into a 1 year sabbatical.
Fernando truly does just have that dog in him. The man just gets it done no matter the circumstances, no matter the cars performance. Truly grateful that I got to witness his entire career up to this point. Massively entertaining talent.
The most entertaining driver i ve seen and im watching since 2003. He is a massive talent. I always knew after his ferrari drives that he has all the talent to dominate when given a dominant car witch he never really had unfortuned
Sargeant’s spent so much time on gravel I’m starting to think he’s training for rally
He's trying to race against Carlos Sainz (senior in Dakar rally)
This time only hurting a styrofoam plaque... progress.
Man needs a job after (maybe during) this year
He's American, everyone knows we Americans have a keen interest in lawn care and landscaping
@@JigsawLVyeah the team told him watch some of Carlos Sainz videos to learn how to do it right and he googled and only watched the ones from Sr. 😂😂😂
Best qualifying so far by logan sargeant...1 position behind hamilton is an achievement ❤... goatifi will be proud.
Matt's powers of floppiness is still unequalled if the weekend is anything to go by so far 😅
Unfortunately for him it doesn’t work on Verstappen
@@jacksonrodrigues7533 That's Checo's, Yuki's and Ricciardo's true job: be a lightning rod for every curse and jinx thrown at Max.
It's part of their contracts.
@@angelrobles7201Charles too! Whenever Matt goes his hardest to try and jinx Max, it’s always Charles that takes the wallop!
Alonso is the best driver of all time that just never had the cars he deserved. With this longevity he should have broken all records.
Nobody:
Crofty when any driver crosses the line in the second half of Q3: HE GOES ON TO THE FRONT ROW!
Checo almost getting knocked out in Q3 and pulling it together to put it P2 in Q3 deserves a shout. Checo's biggest weakness used to be qualifying but this year hes been on the front row nearly every race
He's in the best car on the grid. P2 is the expectation
Lewis went to his same excuse of him and George going for different setups😂 when, every time after George had cleared, the setups had been similar. Nico Rosberg was kind enough to bring this to attention.
what do you expect from people like them? they hate him. of course the ywill say such things!! reality is, we don't know, we're not behind the scenes.
@@jiboo6850does george hate him? George spilt the beans once and said the cars are pretty similar once when lewis used that excuse.😊
@@AlexBarbu since when calling out someone on something is racism? Nico is a frustrated Britney and people calling him "racist" for what he says are even worse. becasue even though i don't like Nico, he never went the "color" road with Lewis.
Max got the pole as usual but I still enjoyed how Q3 basically saw nearly all the drivers one-upping each other for P2 one after the other that you don't know who is really going to be in P2 until the end of it. I don't know it's just satisfying to see everything get turned over its head at the last minute.
One moment you say that there was no excuse for Stroll not to be in Q3 in the Aston-Martin, then the next moment you say that Alonso is outperforming a rubbish car. If Alonso is that great and the car is rubbish, then Stroll being P11 was actually a good performance because he was less than 2 tenths behind the Spaniard in Q2.
Unpopular to say but true. Stroll did actually ok in quali today. Even Nico Rosberg said that Stroll had a good lap in Q2, on Skysport.
No hate but there is a high level of bias against drivers they don't like. You saw it with perez last season, especially when he picked it up and finished p4 after an incredible battle with alonso, they said it was rubbish and a terrible performance
You people, need to stop with this this "outperforming the car" bullshiit. Alonso puts the car exactly where it is performance wise. I could argue Prime Alonso in his Renault days would do even better in this car.
@@fingerprints2983not sure about renault alonso, but ferrari alonso might
@@goncaloferreira6863 Ferrari Alonso, Renault Alonso, Mclaren Alonso > Aston Martin Alonso. No athlete at age 42 is better at his peak mid 20's.
That Aston is very good car, and Alonso is not making the car better somehow, so stop treating him like is magician, because he is not.
The best non sprint qualifying this season by far
not really
Well its simple. Lewis told his engineers to make setup changes, and based on what he told them the car turned into a paperweight.
Well apparently he asked for more front end because there was too much understeer and according to Nico if they made that change it would have helped Hamilton at the end of the straight.
It was just a mistake by Hamilton.
He lost 6 tenths in that 1 corner, without the mistake he would have been about P4-P5 at the end with Piastri and Sainz.
Blaming the set up is purely an excuse.
He asked for changes and they made different ones
That's not how it works.
@@gaiusjuliuscaesar2309yea sure thing 😂😂
Actual answer is they have a car with a narrow operating window due to the fact that it was built with imperfect simulation tools and mediocre correlation, which also leaves them struggling to set it up and chasing track and weather conditions all weekend, the way they have been the entire ground effect era. The numbers they think generate laptime in design and development, aren't generating laptime, because they're missing something about the way the cars act especially at lower ride heights. Not to slag them off, they're still smart and talented people, but F1 competitiveness depends on fine margins at the cutting edge of aero and thermodynamics and they're missing a few key things that are difficult to find.
The end of Q3 was insane. I don’t ever remember seeing every car going faster than the last for P2.
That Aston is a rocket ship on straight.
I saw ~336 for Leclerc and ~339 for Alonso, and that Ferrari is no slouch as well.
Maccas might get slaughtered because of top speed.
How will Hammy blame the car for that? Never his mistake.
They changed his setup according to him.
Honestly don't know why merc would do that after the good showing in the sprint
@@johnbenoy7532 great drivers find a way to work with it. Hamilton has never really displayed that, which is while he has 7 titles, I've never seen him take a shit car and make it do something great.
He just doesn't have that quality.
@@Real28 fair point, but i kinda feel that the era of great drivers winning championships in bad cars are over. we are not in the 1970s-80s anymore
Lance has struggled at qualifying his entire F1 career so I’m not that surprised he was out in Q2, (he’s qualified between 9th & 12th every race except Japan).
Not defending him, but Alonso doing Alonso things makes the car look better then it really is, (and Lance look worse by extension).
Aston's a little bit of a weird team, i'm never sure how good their car really is
On the one side, we have Alonso making the car look better than it is
and then on the other side, there is Stroll, making the car look worse than it is
Also Carlos's little J-turn to have his front end hit the barrier instead of the rear, nice.
His half hearted "sorry" at the end told me everything about how he feels about this last MB season for LH. If I were Toto, I wouls sideline him on full pay and bring in another driver who would be more committed. MB should do everything to boost GR for this season.
I was happy to see Sainz get going again, but I was even more happy when he spun and hit the barrier so I could switch over to the Twitch stream and watch Matt's reaction!🤣
I thought it was a very good qualifying.... if we ignore pole position. The last part of Q3 where you have driver after driver taking 2nd place was quite interesting and competitive.
Spicy qualifying !
The GOAT is back......

Nah, just distracted by wardrobe choices. . . . .
Please let Alonso win another race before he retires in 2040. He really deserves it.
Another great video lads. As a Sauber fan I am happy this weekend. Another Q3 this weekend for Sauber. The car seems to work on this track. Let's finish the job tomorrow with some points. Hopp Sauber👍

And I have a suggestion worth discussing. The point for fastest lap should be available for all drivers regardless of position. That way the lower teams have something to fight for towards the end of the race. Imagine them all diving in for new tyres with 5 laps to go in an attempt to get fastest lap
Saying haas are doing well, oh actually Hulkenburg is. Is massively disrespectful to the only team who seem to be functioning as a team and utilising their strengths. If you have one of the best defensive drivers on the grid why wouldn’t you use him to defend the other
not only that, but Magnussne didnt make it out of Q1 because Sargeant spun infront of him and Tsunoda being on the racing line in T14, it was super disrespectful towards Magnussen. according to these guys everytime Hülkenberg is unlucky then he's unlucky, but everytime Magnussen is unlucky then he's shit

The race will depend more on tires and track temperature combined with teams strategy. The McLaren currently appear faster when light, i.e. with low fuel loads, while Ferrari lose performance slightly as they burn fuel off. getting and keeping the tires in their optimum window is a huge challenge, witness "Pastry's" difficult during races. he has yet to get a good understanding, whereas Lando does it better.
Like Yesterday's Sprint event, the first lap will be critical, followed by tire management until the time comes to swap for a different compound.
If the McLaren can keep the Ferraris at bay while managing their tire life, they could get a podium, unless Alonso can manage his tires better than yesterday.
Gunter Steiner left Haas so close to the start of the season that the car and first upgrades would have already been in the pipeline. I think chalking all the success up the new team principal is a bit questionable.
Bottas showing us that if he was in better machinery, he'd still be pushing the top positions.
Or just if Sauber doing better job in pitting and strategy he would have a point or two already.
Suddenly the GOAT was back and drove this shit car to P2 all on his own. And now since he finished P18 it's all team's fault/setup fault/George had better setup etc. It's never his fault lol.
That’s why he is a narcissist
@@Harrypjotter7 Genuinely delusional if you think he never takes fault lol, I'm not even a merc/LH fan and I can see he knows how to take responsibility and can give atleast mostly honest opinions lol

5:05 Aston Martin has protested quali results. And Ferrari has been summoned to hear those results...
...and protest has been thrown out. No changes to qual results.
I'm pretty sure you're right that Lawrence Stroll knows full well that Lance will never be driver's champion and his goal now is to make AM a constructors champion. He'll keep Lance on as second driver and move him to the front office when they're ready to make a serious challenge for the title.
They've got WEC car based on the Valkyrie coming soon so Lance will move over to that program and be able to hide his deficiencies behind the other drivers?
The redbulls are loving that nando got 3rd after he did what he did today. He’s going to hold back the Ferraris and mclarens for several laps and give the top two a chance to check out from the start.
Remember when Toto said something like, we haven’t forgotten how to build a winning car?
I’m not sure that’s true anymore.
So Matt flew to China did an interview and came back ? 😮
Must have more money than Sky who hide most of their team in a green screen studio nowadays?
At least we should get a bunch of Lewis passes as he works his way up the field
Lewis knew his mistake was his own doing by making big setup changes after the sprint

Yeaaah Ferrari really needs those Miami and Imola updates! Hope they played it good delaying them as much as possible to see if they'll work well
Mercedes should get used to those P6,P7,P8 .
Acceptens is key.🤷🙈
Hamilton has always struggled without the fastest car. Unlike the greats (Alonso, Senna, Schumacher, etc, etc)
Another race I can record and fast forward to the results after lap 1.
has yuki driven this track before this?
8:33 - Alonso is a bit on the sado-masochistic side, confirmed? :D
😀@ 'Now no days are my day'
I disagree with the Alonso thing tbh, Aston have had upgrades and were expected to be better than Mclaren here regardless. I think the Mclaren is the 4th best car this weekend with the Aston 3rd. Still close between Mclaren, Aston and Merc but Aston definitely have a faster car than Mclaren here. Mclaren are notoriously slow on straights and slow speed which there is a massive straight and some slow speed.
You reckon Matt shat himself when Carlos crashed thinking that he jinxed him?
George Russell performance should be the main topic honestly, not SLHs lacking it. George is absolutely annihilating him.
Sainz showed us a glimpse of the old S🅱️innala.

Being a Mercedes fan is worse than being a Ferrari fan this year
I can't believe I'm saying these words, but we're 5 races into the season, and the FIA has managed to not piss me off with their on track decisions. Like most have been pretty reasonable (so far guys, so far....).

It's great that AM is raising this. The FIA rules are dodgy all the way. Even amateurs don't make these kinds of mistakes.
Exaggeration makes the matter clear:
Picture this: In Monaco, in Q3 (or in Q1...), the first person, leading the entire field, sets a time, and immediately after setting it, crashes and blocks the track.
What happens then is that everyone on the track obviously stops, and therefore is out, without a time...

Lewis is already suffering from the Ferrari curse. Just like it happened to Vettel. I swear we could do the same to Max if he was to wear red one day... Sigh.
The Lord Of The Eyebrows could put an Austin 1100 into Q3.
Hi, I was the one that slandered Charles on Twitch. Nice to mention me again.
I think Ferrari did not qualify well because of the reduced practice sessions. Red Bull and Aston (as well as McLaren) hit the ground running with their setups. I don’t think Ferrari isn’t suddenly the 4th fastest qualifying car for no reason. I suspect it is a one off.
Bottas will lose points purely from their pit team.
