Just fyi, I watch your (and llod) content on the TV youtube app. I very rarely watch overlanding content on my ipad/iphone.. totally wasted. I can imagine the frustration when the stats say that your content is mostly seen on small handheld devices.
Watching your shows, what I realized and really respect is that there is no drama, no cussing, no fighting, no bickering, no nonsense.. Just a very high quality, great show I can watch with my kids. Love it..
Bro, Expedition Overland is my favorite Overlanding channel! Awesome to see you guys together! They and yourself are the reason I bought a 3rd gen Tacoma! I've gone out on so many cool adventures in it and plan on doing so much more! Thanks for what both of you do. You guys inspire us all!
So many great people come out of my home state of MT. I was born and raised there and have been to almost every state in the Nation currently living in Indiana. And a day doesn't pass that I don't feel drawn into moving back home. The people and state are beyond compare. One day I'll retire back home. Awesome video, and love the shop and builds.
Awesome walk thru! I'm gonna have to get back into watching XO again and see what's new since I left off... After all they're the ones who got me interested in overlanding a couple years ago!
Damn bro.. Every channel I watch you’re always their friend. Love the collab videos! Glad to see you branching out! Expedition Overland has the best overland series.
Mike.....This is one of the most informative BTS put out (by ANYONE) in a while. Great Job! If people have watched your channel the there's a good chance that they have seen Clay and the XO Gang. They are probably the gold standard in Overland/Adventure space on RUclips and it was great and very informative to really see where things are started, put together and finished. Keep up the awesome work on your end as well and THANKS!
Man I love the XO shop! And not just that the view outdoors are incredible! This is a great video Mike! You know.... whenever I started to watching Overland serious was when I saw XO's series on RUclips and than found out that there is a huge following of overlander that's out there having all types of fun with their vehicles and thats when I came across Last Line of Defense. So thank you guys for providing such content.
Spent a few days there myself. Contributing to the effort, some to the most memorable days of my life, Really enjoyed this video, as it has reminded me of the hard work, but rewarding experience. Rob
This is awesome! Two of my favorite content creators and overlanders together. Love XO, Love watching and learning from both of you guys. That shop is LIT! Keep cranking the great content and traveling and sharing with the world.
Expedition Overland is one of the most underrated channels on youtube, even though its pretty highly rated. lol I never knew the series was on Amazon Prime. Time to binge it all over again
I didn't expect the intentionality of the lighting choices but it makes sense. It was also nice to see the place a "little messy." Your rigs are so well sorted and kitted out in the series videos, makes it a little intimidating for the average Joe or Jill. A good reminder that you guys did once start out with personal vehicles now that you're very well sponsored.
I have always wondered why hangar style doors were not more popular for shops. The ability to open up a full wall of a shop for airflow and the resulting "awning" provided by the folded door is a big bonus.
So cool! The Crofts a super nice, got to meet them at the last Expo West and they were gracious, humble, and answered all the questions despite being mobbed (as did you Mike in my conversations with you there too). Cheers for doing it right guys!
I'm a commercial video editor and freelance DP, I also love dispersed camping in my Honda Element. This video had me grinning from ear to ear the entire time 😁
I might be wrong and he might be a cool person, but whenever I watch any of the xpedition overland videos, I get the feeling that he's kind of just in the places for work nothing else, no connection to the places and just rushing to the next destination. I watched the South America series, specially Chile and Argentina and I got that feeling. At the time I was planning a trip to Carretera Austral and they rushed so much of it. If you watch that video you sense that they only wanted to get to the end as soon as possible. Finally I made the trip and there's a ton of things to see and do along the way that were simply ignored on video... Having said that, I follow a lot of smaller overland channels which give a better vibe, more life to their work if you like, it gives you the sense that they're actually enjoying the trip for the sake of the trip rather than the destination.
I think it just came down to schedule issues and time frames. I really liked that series but the newer stuff just wasn’t doing it for me I couldn’t get into it
@@GorsuchCody Yeah it could be, but for instance one of the 3 ferries you have to take in order to properly start Carretera Austral is almost 5 hours long and that was cut into about 10 seconds and a comment along the lines of "the landscape is breathtaking" (I read several comments mentioning that at least they should've shown some of it. And even if they didn't stop and do trekking trails, there's a ton of things to show along the way. Perhaps they expected it to be more challenging and thought it was not worth showing on video, and I get that, but it a "highway" and the way locals have to connect with other cities, so bearing that in mind it's unreal to expect it to be like a super cool off road trail. Having said that I've seen other series that are good (I loved the Mackenzie trail)
@@ericbarkhurst2951 Yeah it's a shame I mean they have such nice builds and obviously sponsors and the infrastructure to set up cool expeditions, but they're just missing a bit of soul on their videos.
@sydgerald what other channels are you enjoying? I used to love cruising Expedition Portal and idk why I've never hit up RUclips for this kind of content!! I've only been on RUclips for gun stuff and how to videos haha
@@LastLineOfDefense I follow both your channels... I own a new 4Runner TRD PRO because of XOVERLAND lol... I love it! check my channel out if you want... I'm here in the PNW (Washington State) my channel is growing daily...
Sorry I hit post it button yesterday accident.... as an owner of a 08 200 series Land Cruiser that was confirmation that it is by far the most effective Expedition Truck in the entire World 🌍👍🏻
Are you going to build the LLOD hangar on your new property? You’re halfway there with the number of rigs you’ve got now, so you’re going to need somewhere to put them. Awesome tour of the XO garage.
Would it be possible to get a PDF of the hangar and maybe anything you would change or doesn't work like you thought it would. I would build it and add bedroom instead editing rooms and conference rooms looks like a perfect hangar house
Dang, had no idea how big of an operation XO is! I mean, clearly they're bigger than pretty much anyone else, but... 25 people working on any given project? Hard to imagine how the expedition videos pay for all of that. Great to see more of the place... it is very impressive!
Cool channels coming together, off all those rigs which are mostly Toyota, which one is better off-road? Overlanding and off-roading are not the same. Sucks Toyota doesn’t make a modern solid axle front and rear vehicle.
I'm not sure why I thought you guys were based out of Colorado. That explains the GFC video and the Montana plates on the XO trucks. I'm headed to Montana next Summer ( I guess its this Summer) for a few weeks after I pick up my camper. The GF and I are thinking of relocating there. Somewhere.
Awesome!! Thanks for coming by Mike! And sorry for the messy shop everyone! #life
My pleasure, thanks for the hospitality!

@Ram Bar what’s the show on Amazon prime?
Clay has literally thought of everything. He needs to teach a masters class on.....well....living his best life!
Ah shucks. I still don't know how to match my socks!
We see the back end. What we are really looking at is lot's of mistakes corrected through trial and error combined with patience and resilience.

I could literally hear the angels singing the entire time I watched this video. What an amazing set up.
XO is the pinnacle of the overland dream.
Best workplace I've had. Very honored to come to work here every day!
This is the coolest tour ever! Had no clue how diverse and detailed their business and productions were
Yeah, a lot of moving pieces for sure.
Think I've literally watched all of their season at least 3 times. Clay and the gang literally puts out some of the best content on overlanding.
Thank you!
