    Hi Eli! I stumbled on to your channel and my goal to finish watching ALL of your videos! I absolutely love the insight of the current student that you are, the honesty and chill vibes it's so soothing to watch you!
    Funny I graduated GMU in 2020 with biology science 3.4 Gpa. That was my second degree and career change. Few months later my husband and I welcomed our son. Now baby is turning 3 and after being stay at home mom there is nothing more that I want to return to my passion of pursuing dental career. I did volunteer at inova hospital pediatrics, shadowed for like 3-4 months. I now will probably have to retake all the prereqs since I heard that they expire after 5 years since completion of the class... Which is the price I suppose. I have never taken DAT yet.
    If there is any advice or tip you can share I'd be grateful to hear it!
    Your videos are inspiring me so much Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    Great quality video! I recently saw jack hans video about matching into tufts and think y’all would make an epic collab (residency v dental/tufts v bu). Just an idea ofc!

      No problem! I'm starting to get this question more and more, ya'll are making me realize how close I am to graduating lmao!! Right now I have a few things in mind, but my mind is not set on 1 thing just yet. Trust me though, as soon as I know ya'll will know. I'm really not the type of person to talk about things until they're set in stone, but also.. I want ya'll to keep watching to find out!

    Hey Eli I love your videos! I am someone who started as a premed student who has graduated college and is now considering dental school instead. I really wish to take the DAT and start applying this year.
    What extracurricular activities related do dentistry would you consider me looking into?

      @StudentDoctorEli  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Thank you! Sounds just like me lol. I would definitely suggest you prioritize shadowing. That is the number 1 most important to showing your interest in the field and that you've actually done the work to see what you're getting yourself into. Other than shadowing, it may be helpful to volunteer in something you're passionate about. All of your experiences don't have to be dentistry related, but shadowing is an absolute must. I would also recommend that the shadowing is done with a general dentist, but shadowing a specialist can help too.

      @@StudentDoctorEli Thank you for the response! Also do you know any jobs in the dental field I could work right now?

    • @StudentDoctorEli
      @StudentDoctorEli  6 месяцев назад +2

      @@100subsnovideos9 you could look for dental assisting jobs or lab tech, but what's 1000x more important to focus on is studying for the DAT and shadowing. In the grand scheme of things, whether or not you worked in the dental field doesn't matter much, and absolutely doesn't matter more than shadowing or the DAT. And working does not count as shadowing btw.
