Who came here after watching Top Gun Maverick trailer..😄
Yes!
Me
No one cares
"I got the need, need for speed"
Haha I did. And I knew I will see a comment on this. Lol
I never understood why older people always talked about how iconic this film was until I watched it. It’s so iconic because not only does it have a cool story and visuals, it’s literally catches everything about the 80’s in 2 hours. The amount of references people have used from this movie are unreal!
and it takes a while to make nr.2
I'm going to watch it too, it was one of the those movies on my "Movies to watch" but always skipped because of my perception of Tom Cruise at that time, but this actually looks interesting especially with the new movie coming out plus my dad was a military pilot (I had no interest in that life).
@@davida6146
*No interest?*
*Why? Because, of Wars?*
*(What is your job or business right now?)*
@@canonboom165 I have deep respect for the military, and men/women that keep us safe. I truly admire the discipline behind it too. I guess I just never found aviation fun and I'm also not much of a risk taker. My dad told me many stories of how he came very close to dying, but he would fly a plane again today if given the chance. I chose a much safer line of work in data analytics lol
Also after 9/11, I've become paranoid of flying to a small degree.
Make sure you go and see the sequel in the cinema very soon 😁
This is back when the movies were better than the trailers...
P A now days the trailers are great and movies are terrible lol
Casey Brooks exactly

Gorgo go
P A ph my gosh yes...
No sudden black transitions
My dad took me to see this at the cinema on release. I was 11 years old.
He had been a fighter pilot In WW2. He was 22 years older than my mum and it was now 41 years after WW2.
It was the first and last film we ever saw together alone as father son at the cinema.
He passed away April 2003 of Cancer.
I loved this film and will never forget that day. Sadly the cinema we saw it at here in Melbourne Australia has been torn down, which ironically I ended up working at years later.
I miss you dad 😥
I'll go and see Top Gun 2 in your honour xx
Don't worry bro god always being you.
Your in for a treat top gun 2 blows this away in certain areas but this movie will always be a classic and is a great film
Top Gun 2 was an amazing movie also. Well done
Cool story about your Dad. My condolences. What a great memory to have!
With all due he was 22 years older than your mom??💀💀💀 rip bro tho
My mom was in her late 20s when top gun came out. She and her friends lived near Miramar. They saw the movie dozens of time in theaters and went to military bars trying to hook up fighter pilots.
At one of the bars, she did end up meeting a really nice pilot in the Marines one night. The next day she found out he was just a fuel technician who flew recreationally in his spare time. That pilot was my dad. They've been married for thirty years. I exist because of this movie, and also because my mom didn't ask my dad what kind of pilot he was right off the bat.
That's interesting 😶
wow what a cool origin story hahahha: i love how consequential film are to society
Born by chance, you must be the lucky one
Congratulation
Lmao
36 years later Tom Cruise, The Man, The Myth, The Legend, ... comes out with the greatest sequel ever released.... Top Gun Maverick Is without a doubt the greatest aviation movie ever created. Seeing this movie in an Imax theater is an incredible experience, The over-the-top mesmerizing photography, The emotional rollercoaster Of heart and soul feelings had me in tears by the magnificent ending. It's a masterpiece is all I can say.
Totally agree... 👍👍👍
You ever heard of Empire strikes back?
Hell yeah brother
I didn’t watch it yet, but would you say it was better than midway?
Agree!!!!
Just watched Top Gun Maverick trailer....had to come back for nostalgia....
Why is that.. Captain?
There's no points for second place
Tom Cruise = Legend
a very well know legend
He just has trouble holding on to a woman!LOL
Now he is really good on screen!
Sarah Smith is right
Tom Cruise actually WAS in a movie called Legend with Tim Curry. So, actually, yes. Tom Cruise = Legend.
80s Tom Cruise just hits ✨ different ✨
I graduated high school in 1986- say what you will but Tom Cruise was one of the major stars on the rise. He was incredible in this movie and looked even better. Ray Ban aviator glasses took off after this as did bomber jackets. I remember a store on Broadway in the west village in NYC where I live that had its whole look around this theme.
Lot of good memories with this movie. I was 18 when this came out and loved it.
Que guapos es toncruis
This should’ve been a commercial for Gillette with those smooth jawlines 😂
Gillette think all men are wife beaters and abusers. Don't mention that company and their crap products here.
80s was full off clean jawlines or mustaches 😂
There's not a single beard man in this trailer
@@multitalentgamer4105 in most armies, shaving is obligatory
But probably not deodorants since everybody is sweating
In 1986, Tom Cruise took all of us to...THE DANGER ZONE. In 2020...HE BRINGS US BACK.👍💯
It's OKAY to be White.
@@Thecharliesruiz Yes it is, accept it and be free.
Tom Cruise is vampire he never gets old
he is 56 years old looks 20 years old
Well he did play Lestat, in the movie Interview with the Vampire...
Love it
I have something in common with Tom cruise , we look younger . I'm 41 , and I look 20 .
@AJGaming nope i don't think so many of them out there made too much money but still looks old .... Tom still looks like he is 30
Nah tampoco tampoco. Parece un viejito muy guapo con el pelo pintado.
Summer of 1986. Top Gun had the entire country buzzing with high energy. Great times.
ı was 4 years old in 86.those who watched this legendary movie in the sinema at the time are very lucky :)😊
I just watched Top Gun: Maverick in the theater and it ROCKS! The sound, the visuals, the story all hit just right!
Awesome dude
Which is better between the 2? I saw Maverick and it was good. I dont think I saw Top Gun 1
Hello Mr The edge and tim,, I happy to know from video on RUclips..keep it up..!!
This movie is one of the most powerful Tom Cruise films I've ever seen on video
Tom Cruise has quality .
It’s even more impressive on the big screen!
Tom is a living legend that sink in he’s only gotten better with age
Who’s here just to leave a comment “Who’s here after the Top Gun 2 Trailer”?
Yes ;) I was too young at the time 3yrs old, but only managed to watch it on home video in the end.
I am!

I'm here today just to see this beauty again(Tom cruise) all the other... Pppttff... Happy new year chaps

Still one of the greatest movies ever. Also Tom Cruise is one of the best.
Everyone in the comments basically reliving their memories of when they saw the movie for the first time and it has changed over the years. Love how we all can somehow relate. Only hope the world becomes a peaceful place one day and all can live in harmony.
Your comment is very valuable. I wish more peaceful humanist people like you.:)
Seeing the trailer you wouldn't think this movie would go on to become iconic and make Cruise a household name. 🤣😂🤣😂
Yea the trailer was ok but go to the film and it’s woah
Tom Cruise aged like fine wine.
can you belive it that tom is now 60 years old... time flies so fast like damn
This easily one of the coolest movie trailers I've ever seen.
I want to love it. At least it has some F-14s and good actors. But it doesn't do the movie justice. It doesn't even have a song from the movie. Mighty Wings or Through the Fire would have been good. Or five different songs.
Was 9 when the movie was released, saw it in tv many years later and man..... TOM CRUISE was THE Adonis among all ripped and handsome actors round the globe! And he is still crazily in great shape after all these years!!!
24 years old Tom Cruise ❤✨
23 years old. Top Gun produced in 1985.
Oh how I love the nostalgic vibe of the 80's. It was indeed a great decade. Thanks Reagan.
Reagan knew he himself was a big part of it.
thank you Ronald for forever intertwining neo-corporate interests with the religious right and thrusting upon the people a model of economics that is demonstrably false and sucks the everyman dry to this day
@@christopherboyland5888 Ok
Over 30 year after Top Gun 1 and Tom still look the same at Top gun 2. This guy never age.
10/10
I just finished watching from Netflix.
Goodness!!! Tom Cruise ❤️🔥
Now waiting for Top Gun 2!!!!
When the voice at the end announcing the movie and actors with the vintage logo I almost inserted a quarter I thought I was playing the video game.
RIP Tony Scott (June 21, 1944 - August 19, 2012), aged 68
You will always be remembered as a legend.
I wish he was still alive so he could see this awesome sequel.
In case anyone is wondering, the backing music to this trailer "Stranger Eyes" by The Cars
I came here after watching Top Gun Maverick. What a film it is.
In 1986 he was the hottest guy in HWood; even today he's got 95% of the males beat
His look when he puts on sunglasses and smiles , swoon. The hottest guy at that time.
@@bellamartino730 When he puts formal nobody can beat him.
he can be as hot as you want if he has bad personalty he is useless

Imagine its 1986 and you go to see this movie in theatres the day it releases
To of grown up in the 1980's, I never knew how fortunate I was. Some of the *BEST* films were released during my childhood. So many absolute classic & incredible iconic movies. Lucky indeed.
"to of" makes no sense whatsoever.
To HAVE grown up in the 1980`s...
Only a man with a heart of stone could fail to be moved to laughter
Fate can be so cruel
Tom cruise is 60+ , still young, still going strong, still doing his own stunts, and probably be doing the same for the next 5-6 years or so at least ...
Van Kilmer contracted throat cancer, had his larynx operated and lost his voice . Poor man's been using electronic devices to phonate . I got to know about his condition a few days back and that shocked me to the core . I couldn't see someone like him like that. He was so handsome and a good actor he didn't deserve that.
Always live your life in the present to the fullest , you never know what's going to come next...
When the first Top Gun came out I was 18 years Old!I had a crush on Tom Cruise..... It was such a good movie!I love the volley ball scene! Those guys were hot!

I loved this movie when I was 12 and when I learned about the sequel I just had to re-watch this movie and HOT DAMN! It still holds up!
This movie ages so good after 4 decades.
Take my word, this movie is going to have a great sequel in near era!
and finally it did
This aged very well.

The other day my mom said how hyped she was to see the new Top Gun movie, and how much she LOVED this one! I never saw it 😭
Finally im going to watch TOP GUN MAVERICK 👍
Top Gun...This movie is in my heart for so long ago...I love it
Anyone watching movie this expecting a documentary will be disappointed. It's a recruiting film. The opening sequence is some of the best 10 minutes in cinema, future generations can watch it to understand the reason why people used to go to the movies.
Music, Attitudes, One-liners... what a trip. Feeling the G-Force from the nostalgia.
It's a love it or hate it film and...i love it...damn this guy never gets old, isn't he?
absolutely😊
Top Gun & Top Gun Maverick, the best sequel ever.
And Tom Cruise is the worlds biggest movie star.
Tom has a box office of $12.1 billion without any help from the MCU.
Leading man in Hollywood for 4 decades. Tom is the GOAT.
We all know who the best pilot is Val...the sequel isn’t called “Top Gun: Iceman”
LOL
Here's some good trivia about this trailer: The song playing in the background is "Stranger Eyes" by The Cars from their 1984 album "Heartbeat City." That album was a huge hit that hit #3 on the charts and spawned five top-40 hits -- and "Stranger Eyes" wasn't even one of them! That album stands as The Cars' most commercially successful album and in many ways an indispensable touchpoint that evokes the 80's as much as Top Gun. Don't sleep on it.
Hello ! Should I watch top gun first movie to understand 2nd movie or its stand alone?
*my brother loves this movie and I never watched it and I told him that and he freaked out and was like ‘YOU NEVER WATCHED TOP GUN WHAT THE FU-‘ so then we started watching it and I’m obsessed lmao*
EVERY Tom Cruise movie is LEGENDARY. he's the man of the century with then epic stunts
I didn't see it in the theater but my father used to talk about how good it was. Then I heard it again thru word of mouth. I finally rented it on vhs on those days and saw it. I had a eureka moment.
The Cars' song "Stranger Eyes" (from their 1984 album Heartbeat City) was featured in an early teaser trailer for the film, though it was absent from the film's final cut.
I was 2 years old when this came out. Tom Cruise was doing stunts and action. Now I am about to turn 40 and Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning is coming out. He is still doing death defying stunts and great action movies. I am finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning. It's not fair. Where did these people find the fountain of youth?? I want just a sip.
Best movie EVER. Great story and great acting
Who would have known after 2 decades, Tom cruise is still the Tom cruise in the first one...no change at all ♥️
This guy never gets old. ✨ Tom Cruise ✨
Still, one of the best movies ever! 2024 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Apparently TOPGUN 1986 was the last movie my dad watched with his friends before going to basic training for the army, about a month ago or I watched this with him and my family.
It's one of my top 5 favorite movies
I still want to join the Navy and fly an F-14 34 years later.
Same here man same here
After seeing the original top gun that inspired me to join the navy and be a naval aviator

@@Bear-dt6ip Time for IRIAF then

Was living in the Seychelles in 1986, remember watching Top Gun in the theatre there...fabulous times, great music, World Cup 1986 the same summer.
I Love You Tom Curise
F14 forever. The true star of the movie.
Not only the F-14, but all the aircraft involved during the making of the film. At the end of the day, it's really not about Tom Cruise's character or any of the other characters in the movie. It's really about the airplanes. They're the real stars.
I have to agree the F14 was probably the sexiest navy aircraft and even beats its counterpart the F18. They say the F14 is a real man's plane in comparison to a Ford 350 whereas the F18 is more like your suburban SUV.
Just watch this movie last night for the first time, love it ❤
TOm Cruise is Legend
This is so unbelievable that this movie came in 86 itself 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
In the late 80s/early 90s Looks wise my perfect dream man.
I was born 13 years after the release of this movie.... Good memories
I love how Tom Cruise said "It's Tomcatting time", hit real deep
Just watched Top Gun Maverick and what a fab movie, 10/10, best movie I've seen in years. Our seats numbers were F15 and F16.
I was born in 1995 and spent half my childhood and teen years in 2000's but somehow I feel I belonged to the 80's and the 90's ...nowadays we have so much and yet so little to do.

La mejor película de Tom Cruise e inspiradora .
I hate older trailers. Just random clips of dialogue mostly, but I am happy that I gave the films a try. This was one of the best movies I have ever seen then Maverick followed it up beautifully!
If you know Iain Armitage..the kid who plays young Sheldon (if u have watched it) ... Young Tom cruise in this movie reminds me of him♥️♥️♥️♥️
I am going to have to go and watch Top Gun (1986) again! I watch it every Summer. First time I saw it was on Whidbey Island with a theater full of Navy Guys with my son who was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air station.
This movie came out 2 years after The Karate Kid... this period was epic! The 80s were awesome 👌
And the Goonies 🙃
